The Thaumaturge, a mystical new story-rich turn-based RPG from 11 Bit Studios (Frostpunk) and Fool's Theory (The Witcher 1 Remake) set in early-20th-century Warsaw, has been announced for PC. No release window has been given as of yet.
"Thaumaturge" refers to the ancient Greek word for one who performs supernatural events. So, yes, you can expect supernatural stuff to happen in this new isometric RPG. It promises "a unique take on combat, character development features, and investigation mechanics, touching upon the complex theme of inner demons." Following the launch of the Dead Space remake and its positive reception, EA is seemingly asking select fans if they'd like to see a Dead Space 2 or 3 remake next.
As reported by Eurogamer, the survey in question was shared on Twitter by Dillon Rogers, a developer on Gloomwood, and it simply asks, "how interested would you be in a similar remake of Dead Space 2 (2011)?" and "How interested would you be in a similar remake of Dead Space 3 (2013)?"
It's a pretty standard question with the responses ranging from "not at all interested" to "extremely interested," but it shows EA is at least entertaining the idea. It shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, but it's always nice to see these questions being asked.

After only 24 hours in Early Access, Sons of the Forest has already sold over two million copies.
Sons of the Forest developer Endnight Games shared the news on Twitter alongside promising some exciting things to come in the near future.
"Thanks to those who have joined us in our Early Access journey into Sons of the Forest," Endnight Games wrote. "We have sold over 2 million copies in the first 24 hours, and are very excited for what we have in store for players in the coming weeks."

Many traditional sports games release a new edition every year, with mixed results on whether or not they feel different enough to justify themselves beyond a roster update. So I'm surprised at Blood Bowl 3, the latest digital adaptation of Games Workshop's ultraviolent board game parody of American football set in a wacky alternate version of the Warhammer Fantasy universe. It presents shockingly little reason for its own existence compared to the previous version, which came out almost eight years ago. I like the intense and hilarious premise and mechanics of Blood Bowl on their own, but what we have here is basically Blood Bowl 2, again, but worse.

We're in an age of remasters and remakes. In the first few months of 2023 alone, we're seeing relreases of high-profile games like Dead Space, Metroid Prime, and Resident Evil 4. With 2000s nostalgia at an all-time high right now, video game writer David Gaider is calling for a remaster of 2009's Dragon Age: Origins.
Gaider was the lead writer and setting creator for BioWare's Dragon Age: Origins, and would go on to work on both Dragon Age II and Dragon Age: Inquisition. Baldur's Gate 3 finally got a release date yesterday, but fans quickly noticed that Xbox wasn't included in developer Larian Studios' launch plans.
In a statement to IGN, Larian Studios clarified the situation, saying the studio is "planning to release Baldur’s Gate 3 for PC, Mac, GeForce NOW and PS5." An Xbox version is in development, but Larian Studios has struggled to get splitscreen co-op working on Xbox Series X|S, which leaves the studio unable to ship that version at launch.

The 26th annual D.I.C.E. Awards have arrived and, while God of War Ragnarok led the night with seven wins, Elden Ring took home the ultimate prize of Game of the Year for 2022.

Changes are coming to the Call of Duty franchise's upcoming release in 2023, and players will remain settled in the modern era. In a new report from Bloomberg, Activision has modified its annual Call of Duty release schedule plans. Shifting away from a planned expansion for Modern Warfare, reports now state that it will move towards another full game set in the Modern era, to be developed by Sledgehammer Games. Previous reports last year stated that plans for Call of Duty in 2023 would be an experimental phase for the franchise, focusing on a high-end expansion for last year's Modern Warfare 2, which is apparently scaled up for a full release.

Warner Bros. Discovery made the announcement during its earnings call today. A clip from the call that's being passed around Twitter includes confirmation from Andrew Slabin, Warner Bros. Discovery's executive vice president of global investor strategy, that Mortal Kombat 12 is slated for 2023.
"And there's lots more to come, including the highly-anticipated Mortal Kombat 12 and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, games also set for release this year with amibitious launch projections," Slabin said.

Baldur's Gate 3 will release August 31, 2023, Larian Studios announced during today's Sony State of Play 2023, also confirming that it will release on PS5.
The release date was revealed alongside a new trailer highlighting various character classes, shots of the splitscreen multiplayer, and plenty of battles.
First announced back in 2019, Baldur's Gate 3 is the follow-up to BioWare's classic RPGs from the 90s. It is being developed by Larian Studios, which previously worked on the acclaimied Divinity: Original Sin series.

The upcoming Resident Evil 4 remake showed off some new gameplay footage during today's PlayStation State of Play, Sony's first of 2023.
Among that footage was the first look a glimpse at a boss fight with Jack Krauser, one of the game's most memorable antagonists. We also saw Ada Wong, as well as got some more time with Luis.
They also confirmed that a special demo for Resident Evil 4 would be coming soon, and that there would be a Mercenaries mode.

Goodbye Volcano High, the upcoming coming of age narrative game from Ko_Op, is set to launch on June 15, 2023 on PS5 and PS4. With a cartoony animated style, the game follows the monster students of Volcano High as they say goodbye to high school and prepare themselves for the next stage of their lives.
Gameplay is a mixture of narrative conversations with some simple-looking rhythm sections, as you play through things like band practice for the main characters' band "Vvorm Drama."

Capcom announced three new Street Fighter 6 characters during today's Sony State of play, including Cammy, Zangief, and Lily.
Previously revealed due to character leaks shown elsewhere, the new characters all received proper reveals during today's stream.
Of them, Cammy stands out the most due to her new hairstyle and jacket, while Zangief is far more in the traditional mold. Lily rounds out the cast as a newcomer.
