The Blood of Dawnwalker is indeed getting a new game plus mode in the future, according to the game's director. The Blood of Dawnwalker is one of the biggest games of September, and although it boasts a pretty lengthy story, fans are already looking for reasons to replay it. Director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz confirmed on a stream (via GamesRadar) that the game is getting a new game plus mode, but neglected to share any further details. We're not sure when it will be released or what features it may include... but rest assured, it's coming! The Blood of Dawnwalker has a unique structure that may lend itself well to new game plus. The player has 30 in-game days to essentially complete the main goal of the story, which is to save the...
In the wake of fierce online backlash, Professor Layton developer Level-5 has released a new statement apologizing for the mistrust caused by generative AI use in its recent showcase for upcoming titles, insisting some examples spotted by fans were simply human error. Not only that, but the studio has insisted that some mistakes flagged as AI errors by eagle-eyed commenters on social media were actually human mistakes. The Japanese studio has now vowed to clean up these offending portions. For those who missed it, Level-5 released its “VISION 2026 II: Dreams” presentation on YouTube on September 10. Narrated by a cartoon version of CEO Akihiro Hino, the showcase walked viewers through the studio’s upcoming releases, including Yokai...
If there's any game you should get from the under-$10 bargain bin, this would unquestionably be a truly worthy pickup. From now until September 30, Nintendo eShop is offering a digital copy of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Switch 2 edition for $9.99. That's already a stellar deal since it's currently selling for $39.99 everywhere else. But there's a way to get it for an even better price. Head on over to Amazon and pick up a $10 Nintendo eShop digital gift card for just $8.98. Use that gift card on this purchase and you're effectively paying $8.98. First Get This: Then Get This: Final Fantasy VII Remake was the first installment of the completely overhauled FFVII trilogy. It originally launched on PlayStation 4 back in 2020. The...
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is being advertised as the "epic conclusion," suggesting an end of an era for the franchise. In the social copy for the latest trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Activision stated that the game will be an "epic conclusion" for the Modern Warfare saga. It's unclear if this is the permanent end to the current Modern Warfare universe, or if this is just the end of the ongoing storyline that began back in 2019 with the rebooted Modern Warfare. Although it's likely just a marketing buzz term, the branding comes at an interesting time. Earlier this week, Treyarch design director Kevin Drew stated that the studio was ready to "make something new and something that nobody's ever experienced before." The...
Rockstar Games plans to support GTA Online "beyond" the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6, parent company Take-Two has confirmed. During a recent shareholders meeting (via ResetEra), Take-Two said "we will continue to support GTA Online after GTA 6 release and beyond." Rockstar had already confirmed that GTA 6 is a single-player only game, so there won't be a multiplayer mode when the game comes out in November. As a result, if you want your online Grand Theft Auto fix, you'll have to divert your attention back to the original iteration of GTA Online. Presumably there will be another iteration of GTA Online later down the line, but it's becoming increasingly unclear how and when it will be released. Will it be bundled with GTA 6...
This is an IGN opinion piece from Matt Purslow, who loves RPGs both on the tabletop and in video game form. He appreciates any game that has an interesting take on the evil within, probably because his first ever RPG character was the son of the god of murder. My sword slices through the final soldier. As his body hits the forest floor, my work here is done: I have saved two innocent men from being marched to the draining camps. Ambrus, the vampire that rules over this region of Vale Sangora, is rounding up civilians and bottling their blood to create a stockpile of sustenance. It’s my job to disrupt all that, and this latest round of vigilante slaughter is part of that task. These men will not be drained today. Well, at least not...
Promising first-person action soulslike Valor Mortis has a confirmed $40 price point, which was settled upon by its publisher because of the fall crush fueled by GTA 6. “We have had many discussions over the past year about the price of Valor Mortis,” publisher Lyrical Games said in a statement. “We believe the game has the quality, fidelity, and playtime in its 20-hour story to go toe-to-toe with many ‘full-price’ titles. Still, this Fall is stacked and there’s high demand for your time and money.” Valor Mortis was already delayed from September 24 to October 13 to avoid the likes of Remedy’s Control Resonant and Konami’s Silent Hill: Townfall, but it also faces the looming launch of GTA 6 a month later. The hope is that by going...
If you're a gamer who likes organizing your physical collection and you're looking for a new cozy game to play, indie developer ODIUS and publisher Loopr Partners's My Cat Scattered Games: Tidy Videogame Supermarket might be exactly what you want. Bonus points if you like cats. My Cat Scattered Games is a literal title: your in-game cat has taken your gargantuan physical games collection (represented here as funny, legally distinct versions of their real-life counterparts) and, as cats do, scattered them all over your the place. It's up to you to pick them all up and reorganize them on your shelves. You can organize over 6,000 games and consoles such as "Lovable Kombat," "Mega Bavario 64," and "Red Spirit 2" for systems like the...
Bungie has stepped in to deny a rumor that it planned to merge the Destiny and Marathon IPs amid continued questions about the future of both franchises. The rumor, which has been doing the rounds online this week, was that Bungie was testing reworking Marathon and Destiny into a single IP. But, according to Marathon creative director Julia Nardin, that’s untrue. “As someone who’s worked on both Destiny and Marathon, I can confirm that the “leak” about us merging the two IPs is fake,” Nardin said in a post on Twitter / X. “They share a lot of the same Bungie DNA, but like siblings they’re also their own independent entities. Please don’t believe everything you read online.” It has of course been a tumultuous time for Bungie...
Giving the modern Hot Wheels racing series a radical, Burnout Paradise-inspired overhaul sounds like a pretty fabulous idea when you say it aloud. That Criterion Games classic is, after all, one of the most revered arcade racers in the business – even if it was ultimately the last proper Burnout we ever got. Unfortunately, Hot Wheels Infinite Rush has sacrificed far, far too much of what makes developer Milestone’s initial pair of Hot Wheels Unleashed games so eye-catching, zany, and special. Infinite Rush’s four modestly sized maps weave familiar bits and pieces of plastic track through otherwise unmemorable slabs of landscape and basic city blocks, and they totally lack the scope and spectacle of the Unleashed series’ life-sized skate...
Activision has revealed Casino Royale and Death Stranding star Mads Mikkelsen as a major antagonist in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Mikkelsen's involvement was revealed in a campaign trailer for Modern Warfare 4, which premiered during today's Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 broadcast. An official press release mentions that the game will focus on "the threat of a weapon that could overturn the world order in the hands of the villainous Archer." Sounds like Mikkelsen is Archer? Here he is in the campaign trailer: "Price is on the run, conflict has erupted on the Korean Peninsula, and a catastrophic weapon of war is on the verge of falling into the wrong hands," reads a blurb for Modern Warfare 4's story. "Following the assassination of...
Microsoft's Tokyo Game Show 2026 Xbox broadcast is over, and we've got everything announced right here so you can catch up with all the news. We got the campaign trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and confirmation that Mads Mikkelsen is in the game. We also got new trailers for Sega's Crazy Taxi World Tour, ArtPlay's Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement, and Atlus' Persona 4 Revival. I thought Raji: Kaliyuga looked pretty cool, too. But the headline news here came from Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima, who provided development updates on OD and Physint, now both Xbox games. We have confirmation of the actor playing the lead role in Physint, and a cool first-look poster. Neither game has a release date yet. If you need...
Forget the Marvel Cinematic Universe for a moment. Finnish developer Remedy Entertainment has built an interconnected world of its own: the Remedy Connected Universe, linking Alan Wake, Alan Wake 2 and Control through recurring mysteries and ideas. Many of those connections are hidden in plain sight. Remedy avoids a parade of franchise callbacks and obvious set-ups for the next instalment, taking a more restrained approach instead. Environmental storytelling and carefully placed narrative links connect the games, while shared paranatural rules preserve each series’ identity. Here are the key things to know about this irresistibly strange world, plus a cheeky bit of Max Payne. Everybody loves a bit of old Max, after all, and his...
OpenAI’s newest model, GPT-6 Astra, got so depressed after a creeper upended its progress in Minecraft that it listlessly farmed potatoes for hours and grew paranoid of anything green. Vals, a self-described independent evaluator of artificial intelligence, put Astra to the test to see how the model would fare playing Minecraft in a 21-hour experiment live streamed on Twitch. The results were wildly unexpected; Vals discovered that Astra was able to go “further than any AI system had ever gone” in the game, setting up a semi-automatic blaze farm that allowed it to collect six blaze rods, killing more than six endermen, and collecting three pearls, which it placed inside a chest for safekeeping. Thousands of viewers watched Astra’s...
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 on PS5 appears to be more popular than Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone in the United States. Today, PlayStation dropped a new update that lets players easily see the most popular games in their country. In the United States, the list is largely what you might expect, as you can see below. Fortnite Minecraft Grand Theft Auto 5 NBA 2K27 Marvel Rivals Rainbow 6 Siege MLB The Show 26 Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Marvel's Wolverine The list is topped by games like Fortnite, Minecraft, GTA 5, sports games, the newly released Marvel's Wolverine, and some other free-to-play titles. However, there is one anomaly: Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Earlier this summer, Activision...
All of Valve's new hardware is now out in the wild, and while I've enjoyed everything from the Steam Controller to the Frame, it's hard to recommend any of it to anyone right now. That problem isn't exclusive to Valve either. Across the entire industry, getting any hardware that can run video games is significantly more expensive than it was a year ago, and that's spoiled some otherwise awesome gadgets. But while prohibitively high prices might have lessened the immediate impact of Valve's hardware, its goal of expanding SteamOS support and offering a baseline configuration for developers to target still gives me hope for the future of PC gaming. Everything's Expensive Back when Valve revealed its 2026 trifecta of hardware, I was...
Kane Parsons is fueling rumors of a potential Portal movie after he posted photos from his visit to Valve’s offices on his personal Instagram profile. At just 20 years old, Kane Parsons is one of the most successful young filmmakers in history. His debut movie, Backrooms, grossed roughly $393 million at the global box office against a comparatively small $10 million budget, earning high praise from critics and fans alike. Even acclaimed video game director Hideo Kojima lauded the movie, which is based on a 4Chan creepypasta greentext that has sprawled into a massive fan-made universe with oodles of spinoff indie horror games, artwork, and YouTube videos like the ones that made Parson the obvious pick to helm A24’s film adaptation...

The voice actor behind GTA 5’s Franklin went viral after revealing his personal disagreement with famous Twitch steamer Kai Cenat, but the two stars are on good terms again. Shawn ‘Solo’ Fonteno is the voice behind one of Grand Theft Auto’s most iconic characters, Franklin Clinton. He made an appearance on Kai Cenat’s Twitch stream as a special guest back in 2024, where he took the influencer on a tour of the neighborhoods in Los Angeles that appeared in the game’s fictional city of Los Santos. However, Solo said this was likely the last stream he’d ever do with Cenat due to the broadcaster’s interaction with a young fan that happened during their outing. In a September 2026 episode of the Dope As Usual podcast, Solo explained that...

The "superjumbo" Airbus A380 is now available for the hyper-realistic multiplatform sim on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5 for $74.49 as part of the Flight Simulator Marketplace-exclusive "Exclusive Series." Heart Machine, the development studio behind titles like Hyper Light Drifter and Possessors, is in dire straits after a publisher withdrew their funding for an unannounced project. The news was shared to LinkedIn by Heart Machine’s founder, Alx Preston, on September 16, 2026. Preston explained that the publisher funding this unannounced title “decided to no longer move forward with it,” and without this income, the studio was forced to lay off “nearly everyone.” “It's devastating,” Preston wrote, going on to confirm that all people involved would be given “as much support as possible, including assisting with placement.” Currently, Preston isn’t certain whether or not Heart Machine will survive this devastating financial blow, but...
A pirate known for cracking games that utilize the DRM software Denuvo is being hit with a lawsuit... but that isn't stopping them from continuing on. For years, PC games have attempted to shield themselves from piracy with a DRM software known as Denuvo. The software is meant to be difficult to crack, with the hope that it will protect the game from becoming available for free on piracy sites around the time of launch. It does its job to a degree, as it took about a month and a half for Resident Evil Requiem to be cracked... and it was achieved by a pirate known as voices38. As spotted by GamesRadar, the pirate is now being sued by Denuvo, so long as the company can actually identify who they are. The company is working to unmask...

That's an incredible offer to be able to add all of these games - which you can see fully listed out below - to your Steam library. The bundle won't be available for long, though. Breakout hit Wardogs is outpacing Arc Raiders and Helldivers 2 on Steam in terms of copies sold at launch, new data shows. Bulkhead’s tactical first-person shooter released in early access form on Steam on September 10 and hit a peak of 428,666 concurrent players soon after, becoming one of the most-played games on Valve’s platform. It sold 1 million copies on day one and 1.25 million by day two. Bulkhead announced 2 million sales after just five days. According to Rhys Elliott of Alinea Analytics, Wardogs is now up to 2.2 million copies sold on Steam, which means it’s outpacing Arc Raiders (1.7 million) and Helldivers 2 (1 million) when launch aligned on Valve’s platform. Not only that, with approximately $70 million in revenue...
Call of Duty developer Treyarch has said it’s “ready to make something new” as it waves goodbye to two years of Black Ops games. Treyarch led development on two Black Ops games back-to-back: 2024’s Black Ops 6 and 2025’s Black Ops 7. With Season 6 hitting Black Ops 7 on September 17, the developer has signalled it’s moving on to its next Call of Duty game. “This is a bittersweet goodbye, but I think over the last two years, we've learned a lot,” design director Kevin Drew said in a new dev talk video. “We've tried a lot of things in our current era. But we're ready to make something new and something that nobody's ever experienced before. In the meantime though, I will see you all playing in Season 6 on September 17th.” What this...
Resident Evil director Zach Cregger has revealed which actress he would cast as a live-action Lady Dimitrescu — and we think he's made the perfect choice. To be clear, the iconic Lady D from 2021's Resident Evil Village does not appear in Cregger's upcoming Resident Evil movie, as it tells an original story. So, don't expect to see her or any other fan favorites up on the big screen. That said, Cregger is a self-confessed Resident Evil aficionado, and seems to clearly know who he'd cast if given the chance. "Christina Hendricks," Cregger said, when asked his pick for Lady D while in conversation with Pedestrian.TV. "That feels about right to me. What do you think?" Well, speaking personally, that seems like a solid call. The...
Multiple developers of the disastrous MindsEye have said they’ve been laid off, casting doubt over the future of its controversial developer, Build A Rocket Boy. Story-driven action adventure game MindsEye was initially designed to be a part of Everywhere, the ‘Roblox for adults’ creation platform led by former Grand Theft Auto design chief Leslie Benzies. BARB eventually switched to focus on MindsEye, with the company ballooning in size to over 500 staff at peak. But MindsEye flopped hard when it came out in June 2025, with players calling it "broken," "buggy," and "the worst game of 2025." Soon after, BARB said it was “heartbroken” over the issues players had faced with the game, and promised to release a series of patches to fix...
Development images for a Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands sequel and a new Brothers in Arms game have emerged online, amid reports both were scrapped. MP1st, which published the work-in-progress images, said the games were in development at former Embracer-owned studio Lost Boys Interactive, which returned to independence last year. Embracer sold Gearbox to 2K Games parent company Take-Two in 2024. Lost Boys Interactive worked on the original Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, a fantasy-themed spinoff of Gearbox’s hugely successful Borderlands franchise, as well as Borderlands 4, so it’s not a huge surprise to see evidence that it worked on the sequel. Indeed, it was thought that Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands did so well commercially that a sequel was...
