Konami has issued a fresh clarification on the resolution and framerate of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1.
In a statement issued to IGN, Konami said Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 has a 1080p/60fps “target” on all platforms except for Nintendo Switch. This means the collection targets 1080p/60fps on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. Specifically on Switch, the collection runs at 720p/30fps in handheld mode, and targets 1080p/30fps docked. No platform runs the collection at 4K resolution.

Microsoft has submitted a new Activision Blizzard deal for review after the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) confirmed the original deal is blocked.
To address the CMA’s concerns, Microsoft has restructured the deal to buy a “narrower” set of rights. This includes signing a deal with Assassin’s Creed maker Ubisoft to transfer the cloud streaming rights for all current and new Activision Blizzard PC and console games released over the next 15 years. The rights will be in perpetuity.

PS4 owners, rejoice! Konami announced today that Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 is also coming to PS4.
Konami took to the social media website X (formerly known as Twitter) to clarify. The compilation was already announced for consoles, but only PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
"In response to the many requests we have received from fans worldwide, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 will also be available for the PlayStation 4," Konami wrote in the post. A PC version was also announced, but does not include mouse and keyboard support.

The battle for Game of the Summer has found its victor. Remnant 2 beat Diablo 4 to become the best-selling game of July 2023 in the U.S. According to the latest NPD data from Mat Piscatella, Gearbox's Remnant 2 ranked first in July sales for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and Steam, dethroning Activision Blizzard's Diablo IV.
Pikmin 4 was July's other notable debut, jumping into sixth place, just behind Final Fantasy XVI. Online updates also saw the return of Call of Duty: Black Ops II and Call of Duty: Black Ops III to the Top 20, coming in at #13 and #20 respectively.

Microsoft has announced the console wraps for the Xbox Series X, allowing owners of the company's high-end ninth-gen console to personalize their device.
Detailed in a new Xbox Wire post, the Xbox Console Wraps are made with solid core panels that wrap around the Xbox Series X. So it's not like console skins which are vinyl wrap and, more often than not, difficult to remove off a device once installed, making it easier to not only remove but also easier to replace with another wrap if you prefer.
Microsoft notes that the Xbox Console Wraps will not alter the console's performance, and as seen in the announcement video and the images, the wraps do not cover the vents.

Bethesda head of publishing Pete Hines has spoken out in response to remarks made by ex-Blizzard developer Mark Kern, who had previously leaked an image of Starfield’s start screen and criticized its design as "hasty" or the work of a team "that didn't care".
“The physiognomy of start screens," Kern in a Twitter post late last week. "The start screen of a game can reveal a lot about how rushed the team was and how much pride they took in their work. The Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 clearly wants to be the definitive collection that every Metal Gear fan is going to want and, well, so far so good based on what I’ve played. A new gameplay overview trailer was shown today, detailing the story and various game mechanics. At the end of the trailer, Gaiden’s protagonist, Kazuma Kiryu, is seen meeting up with Infinite Wealth protagonist Ichiban Kasuga.
