Gabe Newell has been ordered to attend an in-person deposition relating to Overgrowth developer Wolfire Games' antitrust lawsuit against Valve despite his request to do it remotely.
As reported by GI.biz, the Valve CEO had requested the remote deposition due to concerns regarding COVID-19, but the court said he presented "insubstantial evidence to suggest that he is at particularised risk of serious illness".
The order, which was filed on November 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, included a statement from Wolfire Games which said Newell "is uniquely positioned to testify on all aspects of [Valve's] business strategy" and an in-person deposition "would allow [it] to adequately assess Newell's...

Some Assassin's Creed players encountered in-game advertisements for Ubisoft's Black Friday sales while playing older Assassin's Creed games earlier this week, but Ubisoft claims this wasn't intentional.
Reddit user triddell24 posted a video of the advert, which was shared by Fab on X/Twitter, below. It shows the player attempting to open the map in Assassin's Creed Odyssey before the screen fills with an for Assassin's Creed Mirage, which is 20% off in the Black Friday sales.
"Take advantage of 20% off on the latest game in the series," it reads, giving the player the option to either close the advert or "buy now", which presumably opens a link to the console's store.

EA said the Euro 2024 update is set for EA Sports FC 24, EA Sports FC Mobile, and EA Sports FC Online in the summer of 2024. For FC 24, that’s across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
