Sony has signed a deal with developer Far From Home to secure Forever Skies as a PlayStation 5 console exclusive due out at some point in 2024.
First-person post-apocalyptic survival game Forever Skies launched on Steam in Early Access form in June, and when it leaves Early Access later this year, it’ll have a console exclusive debut on PS5 with a same-day release on Steam.
Sony Interactive Entertainment is providing development support and funding as part of the partnership for Forever Skies, Far From Home said.

Payday 3 developer Starbreeze Entertainment has admitted the heist shooter is performing "significantly lower" than it would like in both sales and player engagement.
As reported by Game Developer, Starbreeze admitted to the struggle in its latest financial earnings. "Payday 3’s sales and player activity are currently at significantly lower levels than we would like," it said. Improving Payday 3 will be its "biggest focus and absolutely priority" going forward as it attempts to "ensure that that the game lives up to expectations".

Turn 10 Studios has released Update 5 for Forza Motorsport, adding the full version of the beloved Nürburgring track to the game.
Revealed in a blog post, Update 5 adds the Ringer Tour and within it the Nordschleife, a portion of track which completes the Nürburgring race within Forza Motorsport. The Ringer Tour also introduces players to cards from various German manufacturers.

Are you playing Helldivers 2 and wondering if the developers will ever add a player versus player mode? Don’t hold your breath — the boss of developer Arrowhead Game Studios has said it’s never going to happen.
Responding to a user on Twitter/X, Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt said the developer will “never” add PvP to Helldivers 2 in order to reduce “toxic elements” from the community.

Sony has revealed the full line-up of PlayStation Plus Games Catalog additions for February 2024, which includes Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Need for Speed Unbound, and more.
Announced on the PlayStation Blog, a total of 13 games are joining the library: nine in the Games Catalog available to Extra and Premium members and four in the Classic Games Catalog only available to Premium members.

Despite what previous rumors suggested, the director of Dragon's Dogma 2 has clarified that the upcoming action RPG will not be locked at 30 frames per second but rather will feature an uncapped frame rate.
In a post on X/Twitter, Dragon's Dogma 2 director Hideaki Itsuno confirmed the game would feature an unlocked frame rate and support for variable frame rate (VFR).

Suikoden creator and Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising director Yoshitaka Murayama has passed away due to complications with an ongoing illness.
The Eiyuden Chronicle X/Twitter account announced Murayama passed away last week. "It’s with a heavy heart and deep sadness we must inform you that Yoshitaka Murayama, the scenario writer for Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes and head of Rabbit & Bear Studios, passed away on February 6," it said.

Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead Games Studios has rolled out a new patch to address a range of matchmaking, performance, and stability issues affecting the popular co-operative shooter.
"Recruits, help is on the way!" wrote the developer in a Twitter/X post announcing the patch. "We have issued a patch to PC and PS5 players to address general stability (crashes) and stuttering, Defend Events, and matchmaking."

In a new blog post covering the patch notes, Blizzard reveals not only that the new update introduces season 9 but also a slew of improvements to competitive play. Microsoft has created the "world's first floating Xbox controller" in celebration of Dune: Part 2, alongside a special (and dare we say bizarre) Xbox Series S.
Revealed on the Xbox Wire, the controller doesn't technically float itself but sits atop a stand that does. "A specially designed console holder inspired by the Ornithopter captures the vibrant colours of Arrakis’s sun, planets, and sand," the post said.

Larian Studios has revealed a few features coming in Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 6 alongside its colossal file size.
The developer made a series of posts on X/Twitter to tease the update, which is due sometime this week, and revealed its 21GB download.
