Blizzard is reportedly making a third attempt at developing a StarCraft shooter, with former Far Cry executive producer Dan Hay, who joined Blizzard in 2022, leading the charge.
Hot on the heels of Microsoft’s announcement that StarCraft: Remastered and StarCraft 2: Campaign Collection hit the Game Pass subscription service in November, it has emerged that Blizzard is also working on a StarCraft shooter.
Word comes from Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier while speaking to IGN’s Podcast Unlocked, below, about his new book, PLAY NICE: The Rise, Fall, and Future of Blizzard Entertainment. Rocksteady is adding Deadshot's daughter Zoe Lawton, supervillain alias Lawless, to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League on October 1.
The studio announced the new character in an X/Twitter post alongside word that Season 3 begins on the same day.
Lawless is the daughter of Deadshot who has appeared in the lore of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League for a while, but only now confirmed as an official playable character. That being said, leaks from earlier this year revealed she would eventually be added to the game.
The announcement will still come as welcome news to fans, of course, given the rocky nature of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

Visual Concepts has released the third patch for annual basketball game NBA 2K25 which fixes bugs and removes the magic t-shirt that accidentally gave players extra experience.
An update to the NBA 2K25 website revealed the patch notes which open with an assurance that "a number of" issues in MyCareer and the City have now been fixed, including one bug that stopped players progressing to the offseason.

Sony has doubled the price of PlayStation 4 game Horizon: Zero Dawn following the reveal of its PS5 remaster.
Eurogamer spotted the price rise in the UK (from £15.99 to £34.99) but the price also rose in the U.S., jumping from $19.99 to $39.99 on the PlayStation Store.

A union has called for staff at Ubisoft’s French operation to strike over a return to office order and pay dispute.
Le Syndicat des Travailleurs et Travailleuses du Jeu Vidéo (STJV), the French Video Game Workers Union, said Ubisoft management had imposed a return to office order for three days a week for all employees “without any tangible justification or any consultation with the workers' representatives.”

With Assassin's Creed Shadows getting delayed into 2025, it is now in direct competition with Ghost of Yotei, the Ghost of Tsushima sequel announced during yesterday's Sony State of Play.
The move begs comparison between the two, as they're both games set in feudal Japan and feature classical images of ninjas, samurai, and ronin. But despite the similarities, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot says there's room enough for two big open-world action-adventure games set in Japan.

Ubisoft is returning to Day 1 Steam releases starting with the recently-delayed Assassin's Creed Shadows, a move that is seemingly in response to softer-than-expected sales for Star Wars Outlaws.
The shift reflects the dominance of Steam as well as some pretty major changes that are happening within Ubisoft. Earlier this week, Steam broke its record for PC players online, hitting 38,366,479 concurrents. The move is seemingly an acknowledgment that any PC game that doesn't launch on Steam is going to leave behind a significant portion of the audience.

A financial update from Ubisoft announced a number of significant changes at the company including the delay of premiere title Assassin's Creed Shadows. This came alongside word that Star Wars Outlaws had a "softer than expected launch" and a November 21 release date for Steam.

The open-world adventure game was due out November 12, 2024. It now launches February 14, 2025.
