Fast-paced mech multiplayer game Mecha BREAK is getting an open beta test on PC and, surprise, it launches in just a few weeks.
Developer Amazing Seasun Games revealed its plans for a pre-launch beta today, revealing that it will open its doors for all from August 10 to August 13. There will also be a limited access test for those who have participated in previous tests and select dedicated players that begins August 2 and ends August 8. Registration begins on its Steam page tomorrow.
The Mecha BREAK open beta gives players a chance to try out the 6v6 mode and use a new mech: Stego. Amazing Seasun says this latest build brings “significant changes to the rhythm of combat, time-to-kill, and an overall faster pace for all mechs.” If...
Lightsabers, blasters, and Jedi robes are all important parts of the universe’s iconography, but Star Wars just wouldn’t be Star Wars without ships. X-Wings. TIE Fighters. The Millenium Falcon. Just a quick look at any of these famous spaceships conjures up daydreams of freedom and adventure among the stars. And so, unsurprisingly, spaceships are kind of a big deal for Star Wars Outlaws.
“I've been a Star Wars fan for decades, and the space side of things is in particular quite important to me,” says Allen Frank, senior game designer at Massive Entertainment. “I grew up on games like X-Wing and TIE Fighter, Rogue Squadron.”
With five distinct, deeply detailed open worlds to explore in Outlaws’ galaxy, you’d be forgiven for thinking...
Whoopi Goldberg has gracefully accepted the "Key to Hell" from the Blizzard Entertainment team one year after calling them out over the release of Diablo 4.
As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Diablo general manager Rod Fergusson attended 'A Night With Whoopi' on July 20, an event celebrating the actress' cannabis brand, Emma & Clyde. He joined Inarius and Lilith cosplayers to gift Goldberg a replica of the Diablo 4 key that unlocks the gates of the underworld.
While there are no guarantees it unlocks any doors, it might be the key to Goldberg's heart after the Star Trek actress shared an impassioned plea to Blizzard last year to release Diablo 4 on Mac shortly after she bought the action RPG and discovered she couldn't play it...
Fly the Union Flag, plate up some beans on toast, and get the kettle on for a good brew – Fallout: London is finally here. The ambitious, long-awaited mod for Fallout 4 is now available for PC players to download for free. But diving into the British wasteland isn’t quite as easy as booting up a new videogame. Depending on what platform you’re using, Fallout 4 might require a little tinkering before it’s ready for Fallout London. Have no fear, though, for this guide will help you to keep calm, carry on, and get Fallout: London installed on your PC.
What you need to play Fallout: London
To play Fallout: London, you need to own Fallout 4 and all of its DLC packs. That’s easily acquired by purchasing the Fallout 4: Game of the Year...
Stalker 2 has suffered yet another delay, this time to November 20, 2024.
In January, after years of development and multiple delays, Ukrainian developer GSC Game World announced a firm, “final” release date of September 5, 2024, which it will no longer hit.
In a statement, game director Yevhen Grygorovych said the extra two months will give the developers the chance to fix “unexpected anomalies”, aka bugs.
Here’s the statement in full:
“We know you might be tired of waiting, and we truly appreciate your patience. These two additional months will give us the chance to fix more ‘unexpected anomalies’ (or simply ‘bugs’, as you call them). We are always grateful for your ongoing support and understanding - it means the world to us...
Ubisoft is battling a fresh Star Wars Outlaws gameplay leak that saw over 13 minutes of footage hit the internet.
The lengthy gameplay clip, which appears to reveal the start of Massive Entertainment’s upcoming adventure, was uploaded to YouTube before it was taken down by a copyright claim by Ubisoft, cementing its legitimacy.
Of course, the internet noticed and has made the gameplay footage available elsewhere, although it’s worth pointing out it features heavy spoilers for the setup of Star Wars Outlaws protagonist Kay Vess’ adventures.
Meanwhile, further footage has found its way to social media, apparently from the same source as the YouTube leak, this time showing Kay play Sabacc, the Star Wars card game, as well as over two...
The hotly anticipated Fallout 4 mod, Fallout London, finally launches today, July 25, after a series of delays.
Team FOLON lead project manager Dean Carter told Inverse that, “unless nuclear war happens, yes,” July 25 is the release date.
Fallout London is perhaps the most high-profile mod ever created, and lets players engage with everything from “stuffy parliamentary aristocrats to a resurrection of the Knights of the Round Table to an uncompromising cult of revolutionaries" in what amounts to an expansion-sized add-on.
It has even secured the likes of Baldur's Gate 3's Neil Newbon for its voice cast, with former UK Speaker of the House John Bercow in the game, too.
The mod was previously due to arrive on April 23, 2024 but...
Concord, Sony’s $40 hero shooter set to launch on PlayStation 5 and PC in August, does not have a battle pass.
Sony-owned developer Firewalk Studios took to social media to answer questions coming out of the recent closed and open betas, and confirmed Concord bucks the live service trend by ditching a battle pass in favor of an old-school unlock system fueled simply by playing the game, completing objectives, and leveling up.
“Concord does not have a battle pass,” Firewalk said. “We wanted to focus our attention on making Concord a rewarding and robust experience on day one, where just playing the game, leveling up your accounts and characters, and completing jobs yields meaningful rewards.”
No Battle Pass, folks. You own Concord...
As per always, I've found a way to fill an otherwise nondescript Thursday with surprisingly decent deals. Personally, I would trigger the NOS and beeline to that 13-buck Need For Speed triple pack on Xbox first. I'm also all about those (discounted basically everywhere) copies of No Man's Sky. That new update for it is gorgeous, to the point where I'm seriously considering a fresh save to re-experience the thrill of Permadeath mode + PS VR2, but prettier. Because I'm an idiot.
In retro news, I'm commemorating the 34th birthday of Magic Sword, an arcade classic. In this Capcom hack 'n' slash side-scroller, you were cast as one of two He-Man-types and set loose on 51 floors of mummies, dragons, and...er, Easter Island heads? Nabbing...
MultiVersus players may soon be able to enjoy content from the worlds of Harry Potter and Barbie if a datamine leak is to be believed.
Information on what could be the Warner Bros. platform fighter’s next batch of content comes from X/Twitter user @AusilMV, who has been sharing what appears to be images from concepts of different stages and characters. While some of the pictures highlight what appear to be early-in-development locations and gameplay modifiers, others are instantly recognizable.
One notable example shows a stage with broomsticks that hover above a platform decorated with four distinct colors: blue, red, green, and yellow. It doesn’t take a Harry Potter expert to recognize that the broomsticks could signal that the...
Tekken 8 had a big Evo. Bandai Namco announced a new free single player story expansion, and a partnership with Nike and Chipotle. There was an incredible Grand Finals that saw Arslan Ash prove to the world that he is still the king of competitive Tekken. And there was also the return of arguably the most iconic and recognizable character in Tekken Lore – one that we were told was dead dead, like, for realsies this time – Heihachi Mishima.
During the show, I got a chance to sit down with Tekken series director Katsuhiro Harada, producer Michael Murray, and game director Kohei Ikeda, to pick their brains about Heihachi returning to Tekken, how the game is performing six months in, and much more.
So, to start this off, why did you...
The developers behind World of Warcraft, one of the world’s biggest and longest-running MMORPGs, have officially unionized.
Earlier today, an official vote of over 500 eligible employees working on World of Warcraft was tallied and certified. With this, Blizzard Entertainment has its first ever “wall-to-wall” union, encompassing the entirety of a game development team instead of just one division, like QA. The union includes designers, engineers, producers, artists, QA testers, and other developers, most of whom are based in either Irvine, CA, or are part of a smaller team in Massachusetts. The group is called World of Warcraft Game Makers Guild, or WoWGG, and is a part of Communications Workers of America (CWA).
Additionally, a...
On July 8th, EA and Respawn Entertainment introduced a new Apex Legends Battle Pass system for Season 22. But after many of the new Battle Pass changes proved unpopular, Respawn is apologizing for its handling of the shift, and making some changes in response to criticism.
The initial Battle pass changes meant that instead of a single season Battle Pass, there would be two Battle Passes for each split of the season and neither would be able to be purchased with the premium in-game currency, Apex Coins. As a result, players could no longer spend Apex Coins from the previous Battle Pass on the next Season. EA did clarify that players could unlock the first half of Season 22’s Premium Battle Pass rewards by completing a set of challenges...
It’s no longer accurate to say mobile gaming is bigger than ever. With over 100 billion in revenue, there are more gamers on mobile devices than any other platform. But that’s never been a fair comparison. Mobile games have always been distinct from their console and PC counterparts since mobile games cater to a different audience. But maybe that’s no longer the case?
At a recent showcase for games coming to Apple devices, I got a peek at what looks to be the next evolution in gaming on mobile: bringing console and PC games straight to your iPhone and iPads.
Alongside new Apple Arcade exclusives, developers like Ubisoft, Capcom, and EA were in attendance to show off console-level experiences running on the latest Apple machines...
Ever since Warzone launched in 2020 players have complained about the Gas Mask animation getting in the way of actually seeing what’s going on. Now, with the launch of Season 5, Activision has finally done something about it.
Warzone Season 5 launches today, July 24, and brings with it this much-needed improvement. Developer Raven Software’s patch notes detail the ‘Dynamic Gas Mask Overlay Quality of Life’ change:
“The gas mask overlay will now fade in and out depending if you’re in gas or not,” Raven explained. “This way, players can equip the gas mask at any time without having their vision impacted.”
The battle royale’s gas mask, which, as you’d expect, lets players breathe within the damaging gas as the circle of play shrinks...
Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered has a release date: October 31, 2024. Yep, that’s Halloween.
The action adventure remaster from Suda51 (No More Heroes, killer7) and Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil, God Hand) launches then across PC via Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
Shadows of the Damned launched first in 2011 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, developed by a Goichi “Suda51” Suda-led Grasshopper Manufacture. It stars demon hunter Garcia Hotspur, who, alongside sidekick Johnson the skull, battles through Hell to rescue his girlfriend from Fleming, the demon king of Hell.
Hella Remastered expands on the original with new costumes, a New Game+ Mode, and 60fps/4K support. A Grasshopper Direct showcase is set for July...
Activision’s Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Season 5 update goes live today, July 24, and the patch notes are now live.
In a blog post, developer Sledgehammer Games revealed a long list of balance changes and improvements for Multiplayer, detailed as part of the patch notes below.
It's worth highlighting an important change to the way Killstreaks work. From now on, score earned via Killstreaks does not contribute toward earning the next available Killstreak. "Although the Streaks Earn Streaks modifier is now disabled, the Looping Streaks modifier will remain active thanks to positive player feedback," Sledgehammer explained.
The developer also listed the new 6v6 maps (Bait, Yard, Celship, Toonoxide, and Ink House), as well as new...
During Anime Expo 2024, Bandai Namco shocked fans by announcing a brand new 3D fighting game, Bleach Rebirth of Souls. Much like Bandai Namco’s other hotly-anticipated anime fighter, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, it's been well over a decade since we’ve last seen a Bleach game, and expectations for it are understandably at an all-time high.
Piggybacking off Bleach Rebirth of Soul’s newly released gameplay trailer, which saw a recreation of Ichigo Kurosaki’s battle against Byakuya Kuchiki, IGN spoke with producer Katsuaki Tsuzuki about how the game will differentiate itself from other titles in the series and what players can expect out of its swordplay-centric combat once it releases on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.

Ellie may be the human race's last, best hope in The Last of Us, but that's only if she survives the postapocalyptic wasteland long enough. Dark Horse is celebrating Ellie's dangerous side with a pair of new The Last of Us busts depicting the iconic gaming heroine.
Get a closer look at The Last of Us: Ellie With Handgun Bust and The Last of Us: Ellie With Switchblade Bust in the slideshow gallery below:
Both of these busts measure 7.5 inches tall on a 3.5-inch base (adorned with plenty of cordyceps fungus, of course). One features Ellie wielding a handgun, while the other has her wielding her signature switchblade. Both versions were sculpted by Mat Brouillard with prototyping and paint by Substance Model Works.

It’s been two years since I traversed The Lands Between. Two years since I became Elden Lord. Two years since I beat a game that I now consider one of my top 10 favorite games of all time. And now, with Shadow of the Erdtree, I’m once again reminded why Elden Ring is a masterpiece, despite some accessibility flaws.
For this Access Designed, I’m going to talk about how Shadow of the Erdtree is nothing short of incredible – it’s more of the same game that left me in awe of its combat, open world, and inclusive design. Yet, despite following the same formula of vast landscapes dotted with optional, difficult content, nothing substantial is brought forth to increase FromSoftware’s latest title’s accessibility.

RuneScape is undoubtedly one of the biggest and most popular MMORPGs ever released, even setting a Guinness World record in the process. Now, after 23 years, this sprawling fantasy universe is finally making the jump to comics, and IGN can exclusively reveal the full details about RuneScape: Untold Tales of the God Wars.
First, check out the slideshow gallery below for a look at the various covers for RuneScape: Untold Tales of the God Wars, and then read on for more details about the new series:

The X-Men may be one of the biggest superhero franchises in the world, but these mutant freedom fighters haven’t always had the best track record when it comes to video games. X-fans the world over are still feeling the sting of the massive disappointment that was 2011’s X-Men: Destiny. But that’s not to say there haven’t been some truly excellent Marvel games over the years that have prominently featured Marvel’s merry mutants. And with Hugh Jackman’s Logan finally making his MCU debut in Deadpool & Wolverine, there’s no better time to celebrate that gaming legacy.
From early winners like X-Men: The Arcade Game and X-Men: Children of the Atom to the fan-favorite X-Men Legends series, here’s a look back at the X-Men games that have...
The First Descendant developer Nexon has released update 1.0.4 across PC via Steam, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and S alongside the patch notes, below.
The patch tweaks the popular ‘Valby run’ farming method. Set in The Fortress Outpost on hard mode, the Valby run involves destroying generators and damaging the boss enough to trigger its ball immune phase, then using the character Valby’s ability to deal continuous damage while moving around the outer ring of the arena in an endless loop. With the Valby run farming method, players were able to gain hundreds of thousands of in-game gold and loads of XP in just a few minutes.

Dragon Eclipse has not long hit Early Access, and while it’s a little light on stuff to do right now – what with it currently only having one run boss, three difficulty levels and a few different monsters and tamers to pick from – it’s already an incredibly cool take on the roguelike deckbuilder that […]

Activision reportedly sold an “AI-generated cosmetic” for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in late 2023.
In a report from Wired on the impact of generative AI on the video game development industry and concern among many within it about the threat to their livelihoods, it is alleged that Activision “made an AI-generated cosmetic available for purchase on the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 store.”
The cosmetic in question is not named in the article, but it is linked to: the Yokai’s Wrath bundle released in December 2023. The store did not disclose any use of generative AI for this bundle.
This bundle was sold for 1,500 COD Points, the premium virtual currency sold for real-world money that generates hundreds of millions of dollars for...
Nobody Wants to Die starts at a drive-thru theater, our protagonist James taking in a black and white movie with his wife Rachel. You spend this peaceful moment joking around with her through conversation options amidst the pouring rain, but that respite is quickly destroyed. Rachel vanishes and the scene zooms out to reveal the dark, 24th century hellscape where James lives. It’s a great setup, showcasing everything you need to know about this moody cyberpunk detective noir. The world might be familiar, but the developers at Critical Hit Games have managed to fill it with fun details and a few moments that flip your expectations. Unfortunately, that strong start doesn’t quite hold up throughout Nobody Wants to Die’s roughly six-hour...
Humble Games has announced plans to restructure amid what it is calling "challenging economic times for indie publishing," with several former employees reporting that they've been laid off. According to Polygon's Nicole Carpenter, the layoffs affect 36 workers. [Disclosure: IGN Entertainment and publishing label Humble Games operate under separate divisions of the same parent company, Ziff Davis. Charity bundle platform Humble Bundle remains a subsidiary of IGN Entertainment.]
The announcement was part of a statement from Humble Games, which was published on Linkedin in the wake of several workers confirming their layoffs on social media. The statement emphasized "the goal of ensuring the stability and support of our developers and...
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is set to arrive on Xbox Game Pass tomorrow, July 24.
As detailed by Xbox Wire, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be available on Game Pass for Console, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Ultimate on July 24, and it includes the entire package - campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies.
While this is obviously big news for Call of Duty fans, it's also of note as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be the first Call of Duty game to join Xbox Game Pass. It's been confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will also be day-one on Xbox Game Pass, but Modern Warfare 3 will always hold the honor of being first.
In our Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 single-player campaign review, we said, "Underbaked, rehashed, and...
Tesla’s polygonal Cybertruck has entered Fortnite, and fans… aren’t quite sure how to feel about it.
The vehicle joined Epic Games’ massively popular battle royale video game, as well as its soccer-car project Rocket League, today, July 23. It’s a free reward for those who complete a series of challenges via the Summer Road Trip quest before August 6 and is also a cross-game unlock between both experiences. Completing all challenges nets players a Cybertruck for their garage as well as a Green Day Jam Track, Back Bling, wheels, and a few decals that include a broken window cosmetic.
It's a selection of free rewards that some players are undeniably happy to have, but others are taking the opportunity to poke fun at Tesla’s angular...
Several former EA developers, including former Visceral Games GM Scott Probst, have formed a new studio to make a spiritual successor to NBA Street — the beloved 3v3 street basketball series released back in the early 2000s.
Titled The Run: Got Next, the new project developed by Play by Play Studios is a "character-driven, full court 3v3 hoops game that celebrates the attitude, style, and skills of streetball culture" developed in Unreal Engine 5, with players stringing together an extended winning streak against opponents either solo or with friends online (discussions are "ongoing" about whether it will include a complete offline mode). Similar to roguelites like Balatro, players will be able to visit a shop between games to acquire...
