Rockstar Games has revealed that it originally intended to develop GTA 6 alongside Red Dead Redemption 2, meaning it probably would've come out much sooner than we ever realized.
As told in a new article from Bloomberg, Rockstar Games initially planned to develop Red Dead 2 and GTA 6 at the same time, but that quickly became infeasible. Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson recognized that the ambition behind Red Dead Redemption 2 meant they would need to treat it as an all-hands-on-deck situation, which also meant putting GTA 6 on the back burner. The first that stands out is the soldier wearing some kind of Batman mask, but minus the ears. He has five pistols attached to the chest pockets of his tac vest, for when you positively, absolutely have to go Shiva mode on some clowns. “Because switching to your pistol, secondary pistol, tertiary pistol, quartenary (sic) pistol, and quinary pistol is faster than reloading, soldier!” one Reddit poster joked.

The cuts and studio shutdowns continue at Ubisoft, this time with layoffs hitting the developer of Skull and Bones and the closure of Trials maker RedLynx.
GamesIndustry.biz reported that Finnish studio RedLynx will close down, with up to 52 people losing their jobs. Meanwhile, Ubisoft Singapore, developer of pirate game Skull and Bones, will lose 70 staff.
