On today's IGN The Fix: Games, Ljubomir Peklar, the creative director for Scorn, has publicly apologized following a "hostile" update sent out about the game's delay. In an update to Kickstarter backers, the creative director and EbbSoftware CEO apologized to fans and took full responsibility for the update being posted. "I quickly and haphazardly read through the draft of the update and in all my wisdom approved it," said Peklar. In a wide-ranging interview with IGN Unfiltered covering Skyrim's 10th anniversary, Starfield, and The Elder Scrolls 6, Howard talked about the lengthy list of projects that wound up pushing the project back upon the conclusion of Fallout 4 in 2015. Bethesda Game Studios ultimately decided to push forward with...

Valve has announced that the Steam Deck, its portable computer gaming handheld, will be delayed by two months. The first units will now begin shipping in February 2022, instead of its planned December 2021 release date. In a blog post Valve cited the global supply chain issues and material shortages as reasons for the delay. These issues have affected many consumer devices from other game consoles to cars and more. "We're sorry about this — we did our best to work around the global supply chain issues, but due to material shortages, components aren't reaching our manufacturing facilities in time for us to meet our initial launch dates," Valve says. "Based on our updated build estimates, Steam Deck will start shipping to customers...

SteamWorld Headhunter Announced SteamWorld Headhunter is the next installment in the cult SteamWorld series – and the first to move from 2D to 3D. The Gunk – a third-person sci-fi adventure with shades of Luigi's Mansion and Super Mario Sunshine – will come to Xbox and PC on December 16. The game will also launch into Xbox Game Pass. The release date was announced during today's Thunderful World event. Set on an alien world covered in the titular Gunk, you'll follow the story of space haulers Rani and Becks, who are faced with the dilemma of scavenging a beleaguered planet, and making the decision whether to leave for the cash, or stay and try to help. Gameplay sees you clearing the Gunk using a power glove device – called Pumpkin, naturally – as well as solving envirnmental puzzles and avoiding alien threats. The Gunk will run at a stable 30 fps on Xbox One, while it will...

Despite the fact that Battlefield 2042 doesn't enter early access for another two days, EA has quietly released the web app for the game's new create-your-own-Battlefield-multiplayer-experience mode, Battlefield Portal. As spotted by The Loadout, players looking forward to the upcoming release of Battlefield 2042 can begin creating their own Battlefield Portal experiences using the web application today. Once logged in, the builder is easy to use. Taking a step-by-step approach, players are first able to set the different game modes they would like to include in their portal experience, followed by a choice of maps, game mode details, modifiers, and restrictions. As previously understood, the portal web app (within reason) pretty...
The anime crossover fighting game, Jump Force, will be delisted from digital storefronts in American territories on February 7, 2022. The game's online servers will also go offline several months later on August 24, 2022. Bandai Namco has announced that all content related to Jump Force will be made unavailable for purchase next year, including all DLC, including the Jump Force Character Pack 1-14, Jump Force Character Pass 1-2, and its in-game currency JF Medals. When the servers shut down on August 24, various features will go down with it. Players will not be able to log into the multiplayer lobby, participate in online events and ranked matches, access clan functions, view the notice board or leaderboards, and accept rewards...
Ahead of the release of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, Rockstar has released a full song list for all radio stations from across the three games. Rockstar states that the collection will contain over 200 different tracks as it brings back each of the 29 stations that the series is known for. Rockstar has said that the track listings should match the most recent releases of the original version from 2014; this means an incomplete track listing compared to the original releases, as a number of tracks, such as Michael Jackson's Billy Jean, were removed for previous re-releases of the games. The upcoming release of GTA: The Trilogy will take advantage of advancements in audio technology meaning that players will...
Over the last six months, we’ve seen a lot of Elden Ring, we’ve heard a lot about Elden Ring, but very few people, if any outside of From Software, have played Elden Ring. That’s no longer the case because over the last weekend I found myself completely absorbed in the world of The Lands Between. Just like many others will be as well once the Closed Network Test opens for all who are chosen to participate from November 12 to the 14th. For those who want an early look at what’s in store though, here are my impressions of the Elden Ring Closed Network Test. Before we get into what’s new in Elden Ring, let’s cover what’s familiar. This is, after all, the next game in FromSoft’s series of action RPG that has long outgrown any sort of...
IGN got its first hands-on playtime with FromSoftware’s upcoming Elden Ring. While you can read our full hands-on preview, we also got a new clip featuring a boss from the RPG, Margit the Fell. Margit the Fell is an Elden Ring boss who’s quite easy. No, I’m kidding, he’s tough and you can see why in the video clip below. While Margit’s full lore and backstory won’t be revealed until Elden Ring is released in February 2022, the boss fight should be enticing for fans. Despite his size, he has moves that can be parried, leaving him open to heavy damage. But as our previewer Mitchell Saltzman notes, sometimes he’ll follow up his attacks with more moves and punish you for trying to hit him. Midway through the fight, Margit will summon a...
Xbox boss Phil Spencer has said that Forza Horizon 5 is Xbox Game Studios' biggest ever launch. In a tweet, the studio head revealed the successful start for the latest installment of the racing series, stating that it had enjoyed the largest launch day for an Xbox Game Studios title ever. Spencer's tweet reveals that Forza Horizon 5 has, within just days, reached 4.5 million players across PC, cloud, and console. He also noted that since launch, Forza Horizon 5 has seen a peak concurrent number of players three times higher than that of its predecessor Forza Horizon 4 - a factor that could be down to the growing popularity of Xbox Games Pass. Playground Games' latest venture into the racing franchise takes place in a stunning...
There’s no denying it: there is something strangely satisfying about riding a massive tractor through a ripe field in the Farming Simulator series, but with Farming Simulator 22, the developers at GIANTS Software aren't contenting themselves with a shiny new coat of paint. Instead, they’re adding features that up until now have only ever been supported by a passionate modding community; chiefly, seasonal cycles and production chains. Now, before I was able to hop on my rig and get that delightful crop-collecting payoff, I had to devise a plan for how to best utilize my time, space, and resources that extended far beyond the barley field. It’s hard to overstate just how big of a deal seasonal changes were in my time with Farming...
Turtle Rock Studios, the developer behind Back 4 Blood, has said that it has fixed an issue in the game that had been causing special zombies to spawn more frequently during runs than the developer intended. If you've played Back 4 Blood, then you might have noticed that at times it can get a little hectic. This is especially true when playing some of the later levels of the campaign on higher difficulty settings. It can often feel like the game's special Ridden (that's Back 4 Blood's name for the undead) spawn in at overwhelming rates. As it turns out, Turtle Rock Studios has confirmed that this isn't intentional but instead as a result of a bug that's been causing special enemies to overspawn during runs. The studio addressed the...
Patrick Wren, former senior multiplayer designer on Halo Infinite, has joined Respawn Entertainment to work on a Star Wars game. Revealing his new role on Twitter, Wren said “I am happy to announce that today is my first day on the Jedi team as a Senior Encounter Designer”. The ‘Jedi team’ would suggest that Wren is working on a sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order, which EA has previously confirmed to be the first game in a new franchise. Wren also notes that he’s “excited to be back on Star Wars”, referring to his time working on Star Wars: First Assault, a game that was in development at LucasArts in 2013 but was cancelled as part of the Disney acquisition of the Star Wars brand. Wren moves to Respawn Entertainment from his previous...
Modders have managed to restore Mass Effect’s lost DLC pack, Pinnacle Station, and add it to the PC version of Mass Effect Legendary Edition. Released on November 7 (N7 Day), the DLC was restored by the ME3Tweaks group, a team of modders that have worked on Mass Effect mods for years. Discussing the project in a blog post, modder Mgamerz noted that “This has been the most ambitious modding project I’ve taken on before, as it touched pretty much every aspect of design. We had to design multiple new custom classes, code a very complex porting pipeline, improve our tools to find assets easier, invent new debugging tools, and more.” Pinnacle Station was originally released for the first Mass Effect game in 2009, and is a fairly simple...
IGN is pleased to exclusively reveal that Naraka: Bladepoint’s next character is Yueshan, a hero based on Chinese history. Yueshan’s design has its roots during China’s warring states period. Developer 24 Entertainment notes that he’s dressed in lamellar armour, and is able to shoulder charge enemies in order to knock them over and land a blow while they’re stuck on the floor. For his ultimate ability, Yueshan is able to transform into a Terracotta warrior and use a huge, flaming halberd to cut down enemies. You can see him in action in the trailer above, which sees him cutting through enemies and leaving trails of fire with each swing of his polearm weapon. Yueshan joins the fight on Morus Island on November 10 as part of the new...
Rockstar Games has recreated the iconic "Here we go again" meme from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas using the upcoming Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition. In a tweet, Rockstar said they've turned many memorable moments from the trilogy into GIF form, most notably the endlessly meme-able shot of CJ walking through the alley. Fans are already reacting to the return of the meme, which has been a staple on Twitter since it gained popularity in 2015. Some were simply excited to see the meme remade, while others are worried that the game comes out in less than two days, and Rockstar hasn't shown any uncut gameplay outside of the first gameplay trailer. Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition includes...

If you plan on letting it tear a swathe through your social calendar, best score it today for 30% less than usual. In our original Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep review, we called the...
There's no better way to spruce up your aging superhero than by giving him a salt-and-pepper beard. That's my philosophy anyway, and apparently, the concept artist for a cancelled Batman game agrees. Goran Bukvic, a freelance concept artist in the video game and film industry, revealed a batch of concept art for what was supposed to be a new Batman game. He also revealed the concept art of a more high-tech Batsuit that bears some resemblance to the Batman Beyond suit. Bukvic's credits include work on Gears 4 and 5, Halo 4, Tomb Raider, and films like Jurassic World 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy. On his ArtStation, Bukvic notes the Batman concept art was done for a canceled game "a long time ago." On his LinkedIn, Bukvic lists a...
Bethesda's Todd Howard has explained that there is an idea for Fallout 5 at the studio, but refused to commit to any other details, from a timescale to possible developers. Speaking during an episode of IGN Unfiltered primarily covering Skyrim's 10th anniversary, Todd Howard was asked if there was a world where – with Bethesda Game Studios focusing on creating on Starfield, followed by The Elder Scrolls 6 – the next mainline Fallout game could be passed to another developer (previously Fallout: New Vegas was handed to Obsidian, for example). Howard seemed to play down that idea, adding that there is a tentative idea for what a prosepective Fallout 5 could be: "I don't see... Look, Fallout's really part of our DNA here. We've worked...

[Minor spoiler warning for Halo Infinite. There aren't any formal story spoilers here, but if you don't want to know anything about the campaign, turn back now.] Halo Infinite sees Master Chief square off against The Banished, a renegade faction of The Covenant who’ve taken over the Zeta Halo ring that Master Chief finds himself on in this, the sixth mainline Halo campaign. The Banished are led by Atriox, the main antagonist in 2017’s real-time strategy spinoff Halo Wars 2. But Atriox isn’t just a CEO with an army of direct reports. That wouldn’t be a very efficient management structure. No no...he’s got layers of middle management that Chief is going to have to shoot his way through before he can get to the guy at the top of the...
Elder Scrolls fans love to joke about the long gap between Skyrim and The Elder Scrolls 6, which is now 10 years and counting. Director Todd Howard is more aware of this gap than ever, but when it came to making Starfield and diving into a whole new world, it was pretty much now or never. "Would you plan to have the kind of gap we're having between Skyrim and the follow-up? I can't say that's a good thing," Howard says. "Do I wish I could wave a wand and the game we wanted to make [...]...
Bethesda Game Studios, the developer behind The Elder Scrolls, Starfield, and modern Fallout, is "absolutely" still committed to single player games, according to creative director Todd Howard – but that doesn't mean it won't experiment with adding social elements to solo experiences. Speaking during an episode of IGN Unfiltered covering Skyrim's 10th anniversary, Starfield, The Elder Scrolls 6, and more, Howard was asked if – after making the massively multiplayer Fallout 76 – the studio was still focused on making single-player games. Howard replied, "Absolutely," adding later that "It's part of who we are, it's what we love about games." From the little we know of each project, BGS' next two games, Starfield and The Elder Scrolls...
Sega recently filed new trademarks for a number of its franchises including one for a game called Sonic Frontiers, which may well be the name for Sonic's mysterious 2022 entry. As reported by Gematsu, the video games publisher filed a number of new trademarks last month, including a move to secure a trademark in both Japanese and English for a new game called Sonic Frontiers - a move that has prompted speculation around its still-unnamed upcoming Sonic project. While the publisher hasn't stated the purpose of the trademark, it is possible that it could be the name of the new Sonic Team game currently in development by the studio. The game was initially teased back in May during a short trailer that showed Sonic running through a...
