Street Fighter 6 Will Have Character-Specific Taunts - Including Making Fun of Hadouken to Ryu

Street Fighter 6 is seemingly trying to expand the franchise on all fronts, including ways to make fun of your opponent.

The game's official Twitter account has been revealing more and more of Street Fighter 6 since its first gameplay was shown off at PlayStation's State of Play last week, most recently highlighting the different taunts available.

Street Fighter 6 will have character-specific taunts, with some of them being direct mockery towards the opposing character. In the clip shared on Twitter (below), Luke can be seen pretending to throw a weedy Hadouken in the face of Ryu.

And now, we proudly present Luke and Ryu taunting in #StreetFighter6! Will Ryu stand for this mockery or be a Chad and do something about it?! Or does he have more ways to respond... 😲 pic.twitter.com/tHR2GJKa9x

"Will Ryu stand for this mockery or be a Chad and do something about?" the post jokes, before hinting that Ryu will have a plethora of different taunts himself. "Or does he have more ways to respond..." it adds.

Street Fighter 6 is also introducing its own form of emotes as players can pull faces at each other ahead of the match. Revealed earlier this week, pressing different directional buttons during the versus screen will cause characters to pull faces, from scowls to smug looks, or a bit of everything if you can mash the buttons quick enough.

Capcom confirmed last week that Street Fighter 6 will be released in 2023, so there's plenty of time to speculate before fans actually find out. The game was first announced in February following a week-long tease from Capcom, and almost immediately sparked some controversy with its announcement logo that was bizarrely similar to a stock image.
