The critically acclaimed video game Cuphead and its animated series spinoff The Cuphead Show are both a visual feast for classic animation fans. So it seems only fitting that the series is now the latest addition to Dark Horse's ever-growing library of gaming art books. The Art of The Cuphead Show is written by Deeki Deke, who also serves as lead writer on the animated series. The book aims to give fans a much closer look at the making of The Cuphead Show. It features a mix of concept art, character designs and creator commentary from various artists who worked on the series. The Art of The Cuphead Show is a hardcover volume priced at $49.99. The book is slated to hit bookstores and online retailers on June 27, 2023 and comic shops...
To commemorate the 17th anniversary of the release of the Xbox 360, video game peripheral maker, Hyperkin has officially announced today that it is resurrecting the iconic video game controller. As noted in a press release, the Hyperkin Xenon is an officially licensed, wired gaming controller replicating the iconic controller that served as the primary gamepad for Microsoft's second home gaming console. The device is named after the codename used for the Xbox 360 ahead of its official unveiling at E3 2005. The Xenon will be compatible with the Xbox Series X/S and Windows 10 and 11 devices. As you can see from the images below, the Hyperkin Xenon is a slightly modernized take on the Xbox 360 controller. The most notable changes are...

IGN has reviewed several of these games, saying of CD Projekt Red's latest that...
Gungrave G.O.R.E has exactly one mission objective, three words that flash across the screen at the beginning of each level and every time you die: Kick their ass. For the 12-15 hour campaign, you’ll do exactly that – shoot, slash, blow up, and otherwise execute thousands of enemies and bosses on your quest to eradicate the Raven Clan and save the world from an evil drug called SEED. When it works, which is often, Gungrave G.O.R.E is a captivating ballet of blood and bullets that merges Gungrave’s signature style with the best aspects of modern action games. Unfortunately, for everything Gungrave G.O.R.E does right, there are an equal number of frustrations and missed opportunities, making it difficult to recommend to anyone outside of...
Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 launched just last week, but the battle royale sequel has already surpassed the 25 million player milestone. The official Call of Duty series account thanked Warzone 2.0 players for the achievement on Twitter, where some users met the announcement with a mixture of fanfare and complaints over unstable server connections. While the milestone seems to demonstrate that early hiccups haven't slowed Warzone's momentum, the battle royale has experienced several frustrating glitches. Shortly after its debut, some players took to Reddit to report a strange error locking them out and asking them to buy Modern Warfare 2 even if they already own it. Another glitch turns some models invisible, leaving the...
Ubisoft’s PC games are starting to come back to Steam next month. On December 6, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Anno 1800, and Roller Champions will be available on the PC storefront. A Ubisoft representative wrote in a statement to Eurogamer: Ubisoft stopped putting its PC games on Steam back in 2019 in favor of placing them on its own PC launcher as well as the Epic Games Store. Some of Ubisoft’s last releases on Steam were Trials Rising, Far Cry New Dawn, and Starlink: Battle for Atlas. It’s possible that more Ubisoft titles could make their way toward Steam in the future. But for right now, the aforementioned three are the only ones confirmed so far. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will also receive its final DLC update in December, the...
IGN can reveal that Guilty Gear Strive's next Season Pass 2 DLC character will be returning favorite Sin Kiske, who arrives in the game on November 24. Sin made his debut back in 2007's Guilty Gear 2: Overture and returns to Strive with his signature flagpole weapon and childish charm. Not everything is business as usual, however, as Sin's calorie meter mechanic is changing a little. Developer Arc System Works' eSports manager Riku Ozawa and Guilty Gear Strive's producer Ken Miyauchi explained to IGN in a gameplay reveal livestream that eating food is no longer a one of Sin's key mechanics. His stamina meter, which allows Sin to perform special moves and go beyond what is normally possible for a fighter, is now a simpler energy bar...
When I think about what the real world would be like if it were overrun by vampires, werewolves, and zombie-like shambling corpses, that imaginary apocalypse doesn’t evoke nearly as much maniacal cackling from me as the one in Evil West. From the Tesla-inspired electricity weapons to the gratuitous gore and bloodshed, this old-school action game was some of the most fun monster murdering I’ve done in a while – unfortunately, its formulaic structure also make it some of the most repetitive. Evil West’s roughly 12-hour linear campaign is spread across 16 different missions that all follow the same format. Each level has a clear start and end point with collectibles sprinkled along the way, broken up by throngs of enemies that assail you...
Every cat owner knows the feeling: you’re tidying your desk, everything is in order, and then suddenly in a floof of fur, the cat flounces in to wreck your neatness paradise. In A Little to the Left, Annie Macmillan and Lukas Steinman have wonderfully encapsulated the elation of tidying a space to a level of aggressive order, contrasted with the occasional dose of cat chaos. It’s a delightful puzzle game encompassing numerous little neatness challenges, where you adjust picture frames, stack books, and sort colored pencils into perfect position to continue. Playing it feels like bathing your brain with a gentle, warm sponge. Macmillan and Steinman’s organizational puzzle game has its roots in their relationship: their studio, Max...
Call of Duty: Warzone 2 players have become frustrated at a glitch that turns some enemies completely invisible. As reported by PCGamesN, several players including YouTube user SuperEvan are sharing gameplay on Twitter (below) that shows them being shot and killed in Warzone 2, seemingly from nowhere, before the opponent's Kill Cam shows them standing in what should be plain sight. There isn't a known reason for the glitch or way to trigger it, or even if it's an intentional move from players or completely random, and Call of Duty's official channels are yet to acknowledge the issue. It's not a camouflaging ability deployed in games like Overwatch 2 either, but seemingly just a blatant glitch that removes the opponent's model from...
Assassin's Creed Valhalla will get its final DLC - The Last Chapter - on December 6, but it will unfortunately not be getting the "highly requested" New Game+ feature. Ubisoft shared the news in a blog, and it revealed The Last Chapter will wrap up "two amazing years of launch suport." The Last Chapter will arrive alongside Title Update 1.6.2, and it will serve as a "touching and intimate conclusion to Eivor's saga" and will "tie up some of the storylines developed throughout the game and offer closure to your time among the Raven Clan." Those who wish to see the end of Eivor's story will need to complete a few things, and the full list is as follows; Complete the main storyline by pledging to all territories of England Complete...

Steam appears to be down as users are reporting a sudden outage at the world’s largest PC games launcher and store. According to IGN’s sister site DownDetector, users are reporting a sudden outage on Steam. Our own attempts to log into Steam have been unsuccessful. It’s unclear what caused the sudden outage. There’s been no official word from Valve on what caused the outage and when services might resume. Steam is getting ready to launch its next big sale, the Steam Autumn Sale which will begin on November 22 and last through November 29. IGN will update this story when Steam services resume, but until then you can keep checking IGN for regular updates. Matt T.M. Kim is IGN's News Editor. You can reach him @lawoftd. Continue...
Two years after the original Call of Duty: Warzone dropped into the battle royale arena, its sequel, Warzone 2.0, has arrived with a new map and some enticing new game modes. Or at least, it would offer those things if network and server issues weren’t preventing me from playing a single full, clean match since its launch on Wednesday. That could just be the typical release window woes, and I’ll be holding off on my full scored review until things have had a chance to settle and I’ve played more, but anyone looking to dive in over the weekend should be prepared for a bumpy landing. Warzone 2.0 is still a battle royale at its center, bringing back a lot of the first game’s mechanics and base features while introducing a few tweaks of...

Where Is Xûr...
Activision Blizzard's Call of Duty: Warzone 2 may be about pitting 150 super soldiers against each other in a fight to the death, but one player has opted for a less violent career. As reported by VG247, Reddit user Crescendummain has become an in-game taxi driver thanks to Warzone 2's new proximity voice chat feature. The player pulls up to other squads and, as long as they don't kill him first, offers them rides to anywhere on the map. Seeking that five star review, Crescendummain sticks to main roads only so that players have a smooth ride to their destination, offering the typical small talk along the way. Proximity chat, as the name suggests, means players can now hear the voice chat of nearby enemies. While this naturally...
PC fans sit in an interesting space. They are incredibly inexpensive but vitally important to the performance of your computer. A faulty fan can bring your gaming PC to its knees by allowing overheating and crashes, but the best fans will keep your rig running optimally for the entire life of your PC. There are a few things to keep in mind when buying new fans. What size fan will fit your PC case? Many cases can hold several sizes of fans, depending on the location of the fan vents on the case. How powerful a fan do you need? You’ll likely need to find a balance between power and noise because the most powerful fans are often the loudest. How much does style influence your choice? Some fans have flashy LED/RGB lighting. If you are...

Several Call of Duty: Warzone 2 players have been locked out of the game after a glitch demands they first buy Modern Warfare 2, even if they already own it. As reported by PC Gamer, the glitch seemingly arrived as developer Infinity Ward administered a hotfix for another issue with the free-to-play game, as even players who've logged hours of play-time have been locked out. There is currently no known solution for the issue and neither Infinity Ward or publisher Activision Blizzard have acknowledged it. Purchasing Modern Warfare 2 doesn't work either, as players who've owned the game since its launch in October are also locked out. While the two games use the same launcher, Warzone 2 is its own, standalone experience that...
Sonic the Hedgehog co-creator Yuji Naka has reportedly been arrested for suspected insider trading for an investment made while working at Square Enix. As reported by Japanese outlet FNN and translated by GI.biz, Naka was arrested by the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office alongside two other former Square Enix employees. Naka allegedly bought 10,000 shares in developer Aiming, at a value of around $20,000, ahead of it announcing the Dragon Quest Tact mobile game in partnership with Square Enix. The other employees arrested, Taisuke Sasaki and Fumiaki Suzuki, allegedly purchased a combined total of 162,000 shares at a value of around $337,250. Insider trading is the buying and selling of stocks with confidential or non-public...
Overwatch 2 fans aren’t entirely happy with the game’s rewards and cosmetics, especially considering their high cost. And Blizzard isn’t satisfied, either. During a lengthy blog post, new Overwatch 2 executive producer Jared Neuss revealed that Blizzard is planning some big changes to how its season passes will work. “In Season 2, we’ve changed up our rewards a bit so that each event has a skin you can earn by playing, in addition to the other cosmetic rewards we already offer,” he explained. Notably, the game’s recent Halloween Terror event rewarded little beyond voice lines, some titles, and XP. “We’re also going to continue our Twitch drops programs so that you can earn skins and in-game goodies by supporting your favorite...

Embracer Group has announced that Borderlands developer Gearbox now owns the Risk of Rain franchise. “After the quarter, Gearbox acquired the Risk of Rain IP along with all released games in the commercially successful video game franchise from Hopoo Games,” Embracer Group explains in its second-quarter interim report. “Risk of Rain now joins Gearbox’s portfolio of owned games that includes acclaimed franchises such as Borderlands, Brothers in Arms, Homeworld, and more.” Risk of Rain was released in 2013, developed by Hopoo Games and published by Chucklefish to critical and commercial acclaim. A sequel, Risk of Rain 2, was published by Gearbox into early access in 2019 with a full 1.0 launch in 2020. In IGN’s Risk of Rain 2...
NetEase and Blizzard’s partnership might not mean too much in North America, but was the reason why Blizzard games were available in one of the world’s largest gaming markets. That partnership is dead as of today and according to one senior NetEase figure, it’s all because of one “jerk.” Simon Zhu, a 10-year veteran at NetEase who has held several senior positions at the company, including President of Global Investment and Partnership, wrote a short post on LinkedIn mourning the end of the NetEase and Blizzard partnership. “As a gamer who spent ten thousand hours in the world of Azeroth, starcraft and overwatch, I feel so heartbroken as I will no longer have the access to my account and memories next year,” Zhu writes. “One day...
You’re going to be smashing a lot of robots in Atomic Heart. You’ll need to blast them in two or tear them limb from limb to ensure your own survival. But those moments of violence are just one part of a bigger cycle; by destroying robots you can then harvest their components, which can then be used to upgrade your weapons and abilities, which in turn can then be used to destroy more robots. That’s the cycle of life in the halls of Facility 3826. Rip and Tear Developer Mundfish has put a lot of work into making Atomic Heart’s combat system as satisfying as possible, and a big part of delivering that satisfaction is through detailed damage. As you cleave through robots, their synthetic skin will tear open and reveal the metal...
Usually the most unsettling thing you can find in a hotel is a mysterious mattress stain or clumps of hair in the shower drain, but The Devil in Me presents you with accommodations that are less like a Best Western and more like your worst nightmare. Inspired by a real life murder castle and its infamous serial killer hotelier, the fourth and final episode in The Dark Pictures Anthology's first season presents a fascinating facility full of ghastly deathtraps and creepy animatronics to encounter. Unfortunately it squanders it all on a bland band of lead characters, and pads its runtime with tension-draining detours that made me wish I could have called down to reception to request an earlier check out time. The Devil in Me's premise...
Developer EA Dice has announced that Battlefield 2042 Season 3: Escalation arrives on November 22, bringing a new map, Battle Pass, Specialist, and more. The new map, Spearhead, puts players in the Swedish wilderness as they fight in and around two high tech weapon manufacturing facilities. Season 3 will also see launch maps Manifest and Breakaway reworked, but not until December and January respectively. A refreshed 100-tier Battle Pass will also arrive with the update that includes new Specialist Rasheed Zain as one of the free unlockables. This Egyptian-born security expert comes armed with an XM370A airburst launcher designed to force enemies out of cover and the fastest health recharge of any Specialist. Speaking of weapons...
A new Legacy of Kain game is looking likely after Embracer Group received 100,000 responses to its recent survey asking fans if they wanted more from the franchise. In its second quarter financial results, Embracer Group said it was overwhelmed with the number of responses to the survey it released in October and responded plainly: "We hear you loudly and clearly". Phil Rogers, CEO of Embracer's 12th operative group that encompasses Legacy of Kain creator Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Interactive, said: "We wanted to gain a community perspective on what players are looking for should we revisit the land of Nosgoth and, of course, our iconic IP Legacy of Kain." He continued: "In the post we've found that surveys typically get between...
Until Dawn and The Quarry developer Supermassive Games is currently developing another Dark Pictures Anthology game set in space. As reported by Eurogamer, a trailer for the new game appeared at the end of The Dark Pictures: The Devil In Me, and YouTube user Slimpy has already uploaded footage from an early copy. The game is called Directive 8020 and will act as the Season 2 premiere of The Dark Pictures Anthology after The Devil In Me wrapped up Season 1. The minute-long trailer shows what appears to be a space station from well into the future, as a narrator comments that it's looking for humanity's new home. "This is Commander Stafford of the forward reconnaissance vessel Cassiopeia," the voice said. "After successfully...
Activision Blizzard has announced that several of its game franchises including Overwatch, Diablo, World of Warcraft, and more will be unplayable in China as of January 23, 2023. The Blizzard side of its business was unable to reach a new deal with Chinese tech company NetEase, who publishes the games in China, meaning its agreement will expire on the aforementioned date. World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, Warcraft III: Reforged, Overwatch 2, the StarCraft series, Diablo III, and Heroes of the Storm will all be unplayable. Diablo: Immortal, Blizzard's controversial mobile game, is published under a separate agreement and is therefore unaffected at the moment. Activision Blizzard is already looking into alternative ways to bring its...
