Upcoming FPS RoboCop: Rogue City has shown off its first gameplay and revealed lead character Alex Murphy, with the full likeness of original actor Peter Weller. The game is now scheduled to arrive in June 2023.
Shown off at today's Nacon Connect showcase, we got a look at the game's dystopian Detroit from the first-person perspective of RoboCop himself, amid what seems to be gang violence across the city. Combat appears to be a mix of gunplay and melee, with Murphy's targeting systems used to take out hard-to-hit enemies. We even see an ED-209 robot join the fray.
Aiming for release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, RoboCop: Rogue City will "combine first-person shooter gameplay with exploration of Detroit and multiple-choice...
Nacon has announced that Session: Skate Sim will release in full on September 22, three years after it launched in early access.
Announced by developer Crea-ture Studios at Nacon Connect 2022, the full 1.0 version of Session will be available on Xbox and PlayStation consoles, as well as PC. The reveal came accompanied by a short new trailer, which showed off some of Session's authentic moves, locations, and how it's captured the skateboarding culture of the 1990s.
Session currently has a 'very positive' player review score on Steam, with users complimenting its authentic sense of control and calling it somewhat of a spiritual successor to EA's beloved Skate series.
Talking of Skate, EA is asking for playtesters for Skate 4, which...
Red Dead Redemption 2 developer Rockstar won't bring any more major themed updates to Red Dead Online as it's instead using resources on the development of Grand Theft Auto 6.
That's not to say Red Dead Online will have its support cut completely though as Rockstar said it still plans to update the game with seasonal special events, build upon existing modes, and add new Telegram missions to maintain a healthy online environment.
"Over the past few years, we have been steadily moving more development resources towards the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series - understanding more than ever the need to exceed players’ expectations and for this next entry to be the best it can possibly be - and as a result, we are in the process of...

Daniel Mullins, creator of Inscryption, has announced that his creepy deckbuilding roguelite that featured on many game of the year lists last year is coming to PlayStation.
Announced on the PlaySation Blog as part of today’s PlayStation Indies reveals, Mullins explained that the PS version of the game will make use of the RGB lights and speaker on the controller. Stoat, the game’s talking card, will have its audio played out of the controller, and the atmospheric lighting of the cabin Inscryption is set in will be reflected by the light of the DualShock/DualSense.
“If you’re playing in the dark you’ll be one step closer to feeling like you’re inside Leshy’s cabin,” Mullins said of the lighting.
Otherwise, Inscryption on PlayStation...
Sony has held another PlayStation Indies day over on the PlayStation Blog, revealing seven new updates for a variety of indie games headed to PS4 and PS5 over the next few months. Curious as to what smaller games are ones to watch out for? Here’s all seven of today’s reveals, all in one place.
Sea of Stars Coming to PS4 and PS5
First up, retro-inspired RPG Sea of Stars has been confirmed for release on PS4 and PS5. Alongside that confirmation, developer Sabotage Studio also offered a closer look at Sea of Stars’ turn-based battle system. Despite its obvious JRPG inspirations, Sea of Stars does not have random encounter battles, and is a ‘pure’ turn-based system, with no time bars. MP regens though fights to allow for regular magic...
Grand Theft Auto 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, and the Mafia trilogy publisher Take-Two Interactive has ordered a popular virtual reality modder to take down his adaptations of the games.
As reported by PC Gamer, Luke Ross said on his Patreon that Take-Two is ordering that he removes "all their copyrighted works" from his Patreon page.
While his GTA 5 mod is available to download separately, the Red Dead Redemption 2 and Mafia ones are still works in progress and are therefore only available on his Patreon, where Ross reportedly earns more than $20,000 a month.
That being said, Ross noted that the takedown was "filed as a copyright issue and not a licensing issue, so the motivation for the request does not appear to be related to the...
Ever since Final Fantasy 7 Remake concluded with its shocking reveal, fans have been speculating on the possibility of a Crisis Core remaster. The moment was certainly ripe for an updated release of the prequel starring Zack Fair, the warrior with a suspicious resemblance to Cloud Strife. Aside from its connections to Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s story, Crisis Core has been difficult to find in recent years, forcing fans to resort to emulators and other measures.
That made Square Enix’s announcement of a Crisis Core remaster, which coincided with last month’s reveal of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, all the more welcome. It’s not any mere port, either. Square Enix is overhauling the graphics, the interface, and somewhat controversially, the...
Bandai Namco has officially commemorated the efforts of Elden Ring's most legendary player, Let Me Solo Her, by sending him an actual sword and other goodies from the game.
Shared on his Twitter (below), Let Me Solo Her shared pictures of a congratulations message and gift package he received from Bandai Namco.
Alongside a custom drawing of his character - who appears outside Malenia, Blade of Miquella and defeats her with ease by himself - he was also given a wooden lithograph, what appears to be a coat, and the full-length sword.
"Thank you Bandai Namco and Elden Ring for giving me this gift and congratulating me for being Let Me Solo Her," he said in the post. "I can still remember my first experience with the Soulsborne series...
Australia’s Nick Kyrgios is the top spun maverick of the tennis world, a controversy-courting Happy Gilmore-like figure who doesn’t so much as march to the beat of his own drum as strap on a pair of bright-red basketball sneakers and shamelessly stomp all over Wimbledon’s stuffy, all-white traditions. His prominent placement on the cover of Matchpoint: Tennis Championships sets the expectation that developer Torus Games’ debut tennis simulation is poised to finally shake things up for the stagnating tennis genre… but sadly, that hasn’t proven to be the case. A smooth yet imbalanced style of play, uninspiring career mode, and surprisingly limited multiplayer support means the only trait that Matchpoint shares with its provocative cover...
343 Industries is recreating the iconic E3 2003 Halo 2 demo in the Master Chief Collection as part of a larger modding project to revive cut content.
The Earthcity demo never made it to the final version of Halo 2 but was universally considered a spectacle at the time, with IGN saying "there's little in the eight-minute demo that isn't worthy of awe" in our original preview.
As outlined in a Halo blog post, it's being made playable for the first time as part of the Digsite project, which will also bring back pre-release content from the original Halo: Combat Evolved. This will include a ton of different assets including previously unseen models, vehicles, NPCs, weapons, and even levels.
Earthcity headlines the package though...

The PC gaming landscape has shifted in recent years, both in terms of technological advancements in graphics cards and gaming monitors and in the makeup of IGN's PC gaming staff and contributors. As a result, outside of some real stalwarts, our list of the best modern PC games is substantially different compared to years past.
To be clear, this list does not attempt to pick out the “best” or “most influential” PC games ever made. It’s also not a list of the most popular games out there, or a list that seeks to represent the top games of every genre. No, this is a list of 25 games that we, the IGN editors and contributors, collectively recommend the most, based on our tastes, and all from within the past 10 years.

Since its release in June, Diablo Immortal has been the subject of criticism over its prevalent microtransactions, which players say can cost thousands of dollars without ever seeing the legendary gems they want from loot boxes. However, Blizzard CEO Mike Ybarra is still in favor of the game's monetization.
In a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, Ybarra stood by the game's microtransactions, which he claimed were implemented to make the game more accessible. “When we think about monetization, at the very highest level it was, ‘How do we give a free ‘Diablo’ experience to hundreds of millions of people, where they can literally do 99.5% of everything in the game?’” Ybarra told the LA Times.
He also defended the way the...
Shortly after its initial release, Fall Guys saw a dip in player population after launch as is natural with most online games. However, since the game was re-released as a free-to-play title in late June, it has seen a massive resurgence, and the numbers only keep growing.
According to a Tweet from Fall Guys, after its rerelease, the game reached 50 million players in the span of two weeks. That's an impressive increase from its first week as a free-to-play title, which saw 20 million players in 48 hours.
The increase in players is largely due to Fall Guys' new model — the game switched to a fully free-to-play battle pass model on June 21, nearly two years after its initial release.
While players still have the option to pay for a...
Sword and Fairy is a franchise that may not be well-known outside of the East, but it is a long-running beloved and notable series that has only finally made its way west in recent years. While many of them are well-received and technically available to play, most are only in Chinese, requiring fan translations for Western gamers to be able to experience them. Sword and Fairy: Together Forever (aka Sword and Fairy 7) is making a jump to try and be a better-recognized Eastern Action-RPG series. After playing the first two hours on PlayStation 5, Sword and Fairy did take my interest as a game I want to see through to the end, despite its obvious shortcomings.
The very first thing worth mentioning is that while this is a western...
Square Enix's upcoming action-RPG Forspoken has been delayed to January 24, 2023.
Announced on Twitter, developer Luminous Productions explained that the decision was "a result of ongoing discussions with key partners", and reassured fans that the game is "in its final polishing phase." It's possible that the decision has been made to move the release of the new IP away from other major game releases.
The delay announcement also says that the game will receive a further showing "later this Summer".
Forspoken was originally due to be released on October 11. That date itself followed a delay, after the game was originally announced for May 25. Incidentally, that first delay message also said that the extra months would be used for...
IGN can reveal that The Witcher developer CD Projekt Red will release Gwent: Rogue Mage - a single-player deckbuilding roguelike - tomorrow, July 7, for PC, iOS, and Anrdoid.
Previously known as Project Golden Nekker, Rogue Mage is branded as a Gwent expansion, and retains the card game's core mechanics, but will be sold separately from the multiplayer original. The standard version will be available for $9.99, while a premium edition – which comes with in-game skins, cosmetics, and card packs for the multiplayer game – will cost $19.99.
"Rogue Mage came out of us noticing that years after The Witcher 3's release, there are a significant number of players who want a more PvE experience from Gwent," said game director Vladimir...
A streamer has leaked that She-Hulk is officially coming to Marvel's Avengers – while live on Xbox's Twitch channel with a Crystal Dynamics developer.
TechniqTV was guest streaming on the channel with Avengers' lead designer Brian Waggoner for less than an hour before he let slip that She-Hulk was coming to the game, with the clip later being shared by Miller on Twitter (below).
Despite there being no official word the character was coming to Avengers, Techniq asked if fans wanted a fun fact about She-Hulk. "I don't know if I can say this. I think it was public knowledge," he said. "I'll just say this. I don't like the face that Brian is making."
He went on to explain that his own acting coach is the voice of She-Hulk, though...
Though I despise the term, it is in fact Hump Day. Now's the time to plan ahead for the downward journey into the blessed (hopefully dry) lowlands of the weekend by buying games to play. I'd like to draw particular attention to the phenomenal five buck EA Family Pack on Xbox. Likewise, there are damn fine deals on Ghostwire: Tokyo (PC), LEGO Jurassic World (PS) and the often underestimated Mario + Rabbids (Switch). Grab them before they float away, like most of my furniture and the odd pet.

Speedrunner Mekarazium set a new world record for the Blade Wolf DLC during the event. However, a video replay of the run was later removed from the official GDQ YouTube channel and it was confirmed that it was due to forgery.
“Yesterday, we were made aware that Mekarzarium played a segmented video for his DLC run at Summer Games Done Quick 2022. Mekazarium has...
Final Fantasy 7 fans have been clamoring for more details after last month’s announcement of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion, a remaster of 2007’s Crisis Core, and today Square Enix’s Twitter gave us a tiny taste of what we can expect to see in the full game.
According to Square, the Zack Fair-centric game will differ from the original in several ways including an improved camera and character models.
In last month’s trailer, we got a glimpse at the fast and frantic combat as well as the much-improved character models. The game is using the new designs for Aerith and Zack from Final Fantasy 7 Remake as well as improving other character models.
Players will also get an optimized UI as well as a new menu-based battle system...
A group of more than 1,400 singers have come together to sing Final Fantasy 14's iconic Close in the Distance track, with video game cover artist Alex Moukala at the helm of the project.
Shared on his Twitter, the song's arrangement is also by Moukala alongside fellow cover artist Husky by the Geek, while the singers include a number of special guests including Final Fantasy vocal artists Susan Calloway, Amanda Achen, and Paolo Andrea di Pietro.
YouTubers (and musicians) Studio Nicktendo, Enochian Tori, and Lollia Rose also take part, alongside a handful of others. The truly impressive part comes towards the end of the song, however, as 1,400 more members of the Final Fantasy 14 community appear on screen, all singing along too.

Rockstar Games reportedly shelved planned remakes, including Red Dead Redemption and GTA 4, to focus on the upcoming GTA 6. This is after Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was released to negative reviews from critics and fans alike,
According to a prominent leaker and reported by Kotaku. Both Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto 4 remasters were "on the table a few years ago, but Rockstar chose not to proceed with the projects in mind."
However, according to Kotaku, these projects weren't fully canceled and could possibly see a return to development after GTA 6 releases.
Tez attributed the cancellation of these remakes to the especially poor reception of last year's GTA Trilogy remaster, which received a...
Ubisoft has been a bit quiet this summer, but the company plans to return to the spotlight when it debuts a Skull and Bones Ubisoft Forward in July followed by another showcase in September with new reveals and updates on several games its studios have been working on.
In a blog post, Ubisoft announced that on July 7 there will be a Skull and Bones spotlight with in-depth look at the upcoming open-world pirate game. Then on September 10 at 12 pm PT/3 pm ET, a new Ubisoft Forward "returns in full force, ready to reveal updates and news on multiple games and projects from Ubisoft teams around the world."
While Ubisoft has been ramping up the launch of Skull and Bones, we know there are still several franchises and games we haven't...
Basketball legend Michael Jordan will be the cover star of NBA 2K23's special editions and 2K is bringing back the iconic Jordan Challenges to celebrate. The publisher also confirmed a September 9 release date and announced the six-time NBA champion will grace the covers of the aptly named Michael Jordan Edition and the limited Championship Edition.
Jordan was chosen not only because 2K23 matches his iconic jersey number but also, 2K said, because his spirit matches the theme of this year's MyPlayer campaign mode: Answer the Call. "After making 23 the most recognizable number in sports, it was only fitting that for NBA 2K23 we introduce the Michael Jordan Edition," said Alfie Brody, vice president of global marketing strategy for NBA...
EA's Battlefield series will seemingly return to including single player campaigns, according to a new job listing at the publisher's Seattle-based studio.
While we already knew that Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto was leading a Battlefield universe project at the Seattle studio, the job listing for a design director specifically mentions the creation of "a new Battlefield campaign".
As reported by VGC, the design director will be responsible for "creating a best-in-class single player campaign experience" with a "player-first mentality, motivated by a passionate aim to understand and serve the players who are engaged with the game". The ideal candidate must have a "passion and understanding of single player campaigns and how to...
