The Steam Deck Is Out of Stock – What Does It Mean?
All three models of the Steam Deck are out of stock and have been out of stock for at least 24 hours, according to a post from Wario64. With prices for gaming PCs and components skyrocketing, it's possible that this could mean a longer-term shortage. It's no secret that PC hardware is in a weird place right now. With memory prices going through the roof, it was only a matter of time before handheld gaming PCs started getting hit by shortages and increased prices. And that makes it odd timing for all three models of the Steam Deck to go out of stock in the US. Because the Steam Deck has been around for nearly five years, it's possible that this is a sign that Valve is getting ready to wind down production on the most affordable...
Luna Abyss Preview: A Grimdark Bullet-Hell FPS That Ramps Up in Challenge
There are quite a few modern first-person shooters taking notes from the bullet hell arcade games from yesteryear. Games like BPM or Deadzone Rogue throw walls of projectiles and fodder enemies at you, and demand you thread yourself through them like a gun-toting needle to return fire without getting obliterated. Luna Abyss joins these ranks but certainly stirs the formula up a bit. When we took a look at the first level of gloomy sci-fi shooter a couple of years ago, we saw just enough to get intrigued by the potential quivering in the crimson glow between all of its shadows. Now that we’ve gotten our hands on a bit more, being introduced to a new weapon, movement mechanics, and a killer boss fight, I can safely say that the optimism...
Battlefield 6 Season 2 Gets Roadmap and First Gameplay Trailer Following Delay
Following an unexpected delay in January, the first trailer for Battlefield 6 Season 2 is here, revealing a first look at its three-month roadmap, a limited-time nightfall event, and gameplay for two new maps. EA and Battlefield Studios today offered a detailed breakdown and trailer for the second seasonal content update, along with a gameplay trailer for its troubled multiplayer FPS. Season 2 spans across three phases – Extreme Measures (phase one), Nightfall (phase two), and Hunter/Prey (phase three) – with the first set to launch next week on its previously announced release date of February 17, 2026. The forest-covered mountains of the first new map, Contaminated, are the backdrop for most of the Battlefield 6 Season 2 trailer...
'I Hope People Will Look to Vince as a Model and Aim High': Hideo Kojima, Phil Spencer, Todd Howard, Other Industry Luminaries Honor Vince Zampella at
"What struck me most was his restlessness," said Geoff Keighley yesterday in front of an audience on the DICE Summit 2026 keynote stage. "Nothing was ever quite good enough. That relentless hunger for excellence drove him to believe he could always make a better game, a better company, be a better man. Since his passing, I've thought a lot about what made Vince unique, what's his superpower. Of course he knew how to build great teams, make great games, but inside massive companies built on process and politics, Vince was able to stay stubbornly human. He was direct, impatient with nonsense, and fiercely loyal to the people doing the work." Keighley was speaking of Vince Zampella, the co-creator of the Call of Duty franchise, co-founder...
Monster Hunter Stories 3 Preview: Me and My Pet Rathalos
At some point, somebody at Capcom must have looked at Monster Hunter and said, out loud, “You know, the monsters in this bad boy are actually pretty cute. And there’s these talking cats, and they’re pretty cute, too. We’re kinda leaving money on the table by not making this a turn-based monster-capturing RPG.” And the executives did grin, and the sky opened, and the money rained down. And they saw that that somebody was right, and they said, “We gotta make more of these.” Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is the third one of these, in fact, if the number didn’t give it away, so that somebody’s idea had some staying power, but it’s this writer’s first. Not my first Monster Hunter; like most folks in the West, mine was Monster...

Arc Raiders Publisher Boasts That the Game Has 'Significantly Exceeded Expectations' and Now Sold 14 Million Copies
Arc Raiders continues to be an enormous hit for publisher Nexon, with 14 million copies sold and almost a million concurrent players online at one point last month. In Nexon's latest financial results, the Korean publisher boasted that its sticky extraction shooter had "significantly exceeded expectations" and had "approximately six million weekly active users." January's player peak saw roughly 960,000 people online at the same time — an impressive figure indeed, especially three months after its late October 2025 arrival. "Since its October 30 launch, the game sustained top-ranking spots on Steam's Top Sellers list as well as PlayStation and Xbox," Nexon wrote in a presentation shared with investors today. "[It] showed exceptional...
Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remaster Art Book Appears at Amazon UK, Now Up for Preorder
The heavily rumoured, but yet to be confirmed, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake/Remaster is getting its very own art book, at least according to this recent Amazon listing in the UK. Preorders are also now available, strangely, before we've got official confirmation of the game actually being real and given its own release window. Its art book is listed at £29.95 right now, a slight reduction from its initial £39.99 RRP, and the Amazon listing also mentions a release date of March 24, 2026. Titan will be publishing the art book, and the publisher already has a history of releasing art books for the gaming franchise since 2012. That includes Assassin's Creed III, Unity, Syndicate, Origins, and more. More recent Assassin's Creed art...
AU Deals: Serious Games at Silly Prices Across Every Major Platform
There is a specific sting that comes from paying full price for a game, loving it, and then watching it tumble to pocket change six months later. I know that sting intimately. The upside is I can now tell you, with zero buyer’s remorse left to protect, which of these are actually worth your weekend. Contents Retro Nintendo Xbox PlayStation PC LEGO This Day in Gaming 🎂 In retro news, I’m getting an Armacham Black Ops Pyro to light 16 candles on a cake baked for F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin. I loved this nerve-shredding (at the time) sequel that continued the supernatural suspense story of Alma “just call me the chick from The Ring” Wade. The tense atmosphere and jump scares from the original were ramped up with more intimidating...
Most of Highguard Studio Has Been Laid Off Says Former Dev, Wildlight Confirms
Layoffs have hit the development studio Wildlight Entertainment, makers of the recently released multiplayer shooter Highguard. This comes just over two weeks after the free-to-play game's January 26 launch date. Former senior level designer Alex Graner posted on LinkedIn, "Unfortunately, along with most of the team at Wildlight, I was laid off today." While there currently is no confirmed number of people who were laid off, the studio's LinkedIn page states that its size is/was 51-200 employees. Wildlight's official X/Twitter account confirmed the layoffs with a statement reading, "Today we made an incredibly difficult decision to part ways with a number of our team members while keeping a core group of developers to continue...
Blizzard Launches Warlock DLC for Diablo 2: Resurrected, 25 Years After the Original Game's Release — and It's Also Now on Steam
Blizzard will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Diablo by adding the Warlock class to a swathe of games — including Diablo 2: Resurrected, more than 25 years after the game's original launch. Resurrected, the 2021 remaster of Blizzard's classic sequel, will receive the Reign of the Warlock DLC today, February 11, priced at $24.99 across PC, PlayStation, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch. The paid add-on is available already on Battle.net — and on Steam, where Diablo 2: Resurrected has also launched. The news was announced just moments ago at Blizzard's Diablo Anniversary Spotlight showcase, which featured Warlock-flavored reveals for the franchise's other games, too. A Warlock class will arrive as part of Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred on...
Arc Raiders Players Stunned After Exploit Hotfix Results in Widespread Reports of a New Inventory Glitch
Arc Raiders players have gathered to applaud Embark Studios after it took just one day to tackle new duplication and infinite ammo exploits – even though reports of a new inventory glitch have already popped up in their place. The developer behind the successful extraction shooter published a hotfix addressing a variety of issues today, defying the expectations of fans who thought the latest exploits would be around for nefarious players to take advantage of for days, if not weeks. Initially, at least, it resulted in a wave of positive comments from fans. “Say what you want about embark,” one Reddit user commented, “but this was QUICK!” “Dude I was literally in firing range, tried it (successfully), went back to Speranza to grab a...

What to Expect from This Week's PlayStation State of Play
A lengthy, 60-plus minutes Sony State of Play is heading our way this Thursday, February 12, and promises new looks at “third-party and indie games headed to PS5, along with the latest from teams at PlayStation Studios.” So, what upcoming games can we expect to see fresh reveals for and gameplay of? Well, here’s what we think is likely to show up, as well as a few out-there guesses. Exclusives Seeing as it's shaping up to be PlayStation’s biggest game of 2026, you’d perhaps have expected Wolverine to show up in Thursday’s stream. Well, a late spanner has been thrown into the works via Insomniac’s official X account, which claims that we won’t be seeing any more of its latest Marvel game until “Spring 2026”. Last time I checked...

It's not just the PlayStation version that's seen a price drop, though. Xbox fans can also scoop up it up on Series X for the same price (see it here). Masters of Albion, Peter Molyneux’s ‘Culmination of His Work to Date’, Will Launch in Early Access as Actually the First Chapter in a Planned Trilogy
Masters of Albion, the new God game from 22cans, may well be “the culmination” of legendary developer Peter Molyneux’s career to date, but we may not see its end for many years to come — due to it being the first part of a planned trilogy. “So this is an epic,” Molyneux tells IGN. “We are thinking about three epic chapters, I suppose you'd call them. Then what we'll be releasing into early access will be chapter one, and it's going to take us quite a few years to get to chapter three.” “But this chapter one, it has a story. It starts as a classic story of a hero coming and finding his power. There was an adversary who was doing something awful. There was a confrontation. It's a classic. This first chapter is a classic beat of that...
Middle Fingers, Sausage Armour, and Housing Inspectors — Masters of Albion is Definitely a Peter Molyneux Game
“It's all allowing players that freedom,” says Peter Molyneux. “And that's what we've been exploring with Masters of Albion.” The god game thrives on freedom, and, arguably, is nothing without it. No one knows that better than Peter Molyneux. The lead developer of landmark god games such as Dungeon Keeper, Populous, and Black & White, he’s returning to those roots after years away with Masters of Albion, a self-declared “culmination” of all his work to date that blends those god game greats with other milestones from a long career that also birthed Fable. Freedom very much is the word I heard most often when speaking with Molyneux recently. His upcoming project, developed at his studio 22Cans, is not only inspired by his own vaunted...
‘F*** Me, This Thing That We Created, It’s Going to Live’ — Peter Molyneux Cried Watching Xbox's New Fable Gameplay Reveal
Playground Games gave us a first look at gameplay from its Fable reboot earlier this year in January’s Xbox Developer Direct, and among its viewers was the series’ original creator, Peter Molyneux. IGN recently spoke to the former Lionhead Studios developer in anticipation of his new God game, Masters of Albion, and took the opportunity to ask for his thoughts on what he saw from this new incarnation of Fable. “When I was watching the Fable trailer, I just felt myself tearing up”, reveals Molyneux. “I know that I could probably be slaughtered for saying that, but I am someone who cries frequently, and I felt incredibly emotional, and the reason I felt emotional was: F*** me. This thing that we created, it's going to live, it’s going...
Zero Parades and Disco Elysium Developer ZA/UM on AI: ‘We Don’t Use It’
It’s pretty safe to say that generative artificial intelligence has become a divisive issue within the games industry and wider player community. As the technology becomes more prevalent, companies and studios are being pushed to offer clarity on their use of it. Within the past few months alone, Baldur’s Gate 3 developer Larian has faced significant backlash against its use of generative AI, and RuneScape studio Jagex has promised no AI will be used for any assets a player can “touch, hear or feel.” ZA/UM, the developer behind Disco Elysium and the upcoming Zero Parades: For Dead Spies, has offered its view on the issue, and it’s a pretty simple one: “No AI.” Talking to IGN, ZA/UM’s head of studio, Allen Murray, offered his...
No Man's Sky's Remnant Update Is Here, and We're Finally Getting a Gravity Gun
No Man's Sky's next big update, Remnant, is here, introducing something developer Hello Games has "been wanting to give players since the very beginning": a gravity gun. Called the Gravitino Coil, the powerful anti-gravity module for your multi-tool will turn the sci-fi game into "a physics playground," allowing you to "grab large objects and fling, toss, or carefully carry them around the world." It can also be used as a ballistic weapon, allowing you to grab sentinels or heavy objects, turning them into projectiles. We'll now also be able to collect and recycle the salvage and debris found on planets, turning them into "highly prized" resources, and construct new trucks, tipping flatbeds, and haulers to transport resources back. By...
Stardew Valley 10th Anniversary: How One Indie Game Defined the Cozy Genre
It is nearly impossible to discuss the ‘cosy’ or ‘wholesome’ genre without thinking of Stardew Valley. Released in February 2016, the game quickly became the gold standard for the genre. Its accessible, charming slice-of-life style created a blueprint that countless titles have since tried to follow. Now celebrating its tenth anniversary, this indie darling has effectively reinvigorated an entire genre and changed how we think about video games at large. A Solo Labour of Love and Consumer Respect I don’t know what Eric Barone (better known as ‘ConcernedApe’) has in his morning cereal, but I need some. Consider the staggering scale of Stardew Valley. Every element—from the code and pixel art to the music and dialogue—was created solely...
Domina From Overwatch, Will You Be My Valentine?
Have you ever fallen in love? I did nearly a decade ago, with Overwatch, Blizzard’s hero shooter of near-immaculate design. But that relationship sadly became strained, distant even, ever since its decision to move on from those initial glory days and reinvent itself as a sequel. Well, now Overwatch has gone and seduced me all over again, like a Hanzo scatter arrow delivered straight from Cupid's bow. And it's all thanks to one woman: the corporate villainess tank, Domina. And it has absolutely nothing to do with those thighs. This week saw the launch of a new era for Overwatch. Blizzard has ditched the “2”, implemented a long-overdue menu overhaul, kicked off a brand new, year-long story, and, crucially, added five brand new heroes...
High on Life Story Recap: Everything You Need Before Playing the Sequel
Imagine E.T. snorted your dad off a space toilet. You’d be mad, but there wouldn’t be anything you could do about it. Unless you happened to have an arsenal of powerful alien guns and some tricked-out power armour. This is the story of you, an unassuming kid who just happens to love video games, and how Earth getting taken over by a vast interstellar drug cartel turns out to be the making of you. The events of High on Life start at the outbreak of alien invasion on a seemingly normal day in sleepy suburbia. Your parents are out of town, your cokehead sister, Lizzie, wants to throw a wild party, and all you want to do is lose yourself in a Legally Distinct first person shooter. Relatable. Out of nowhere arrives the G3 Cartel, led by a...
Overwatch Season 1 Debut Sees Blizzard's Relaunched Hero Shooter Double Its Steam Player Record
We already knew that Overwatch fans were returning in their thousands with the advent of its new name and "story-driven era," but Overwatch hasn't just matched its original Steam release-day fervor, it has smashed it, more than doubling the platform's concurrent peak set back in 2023. You'll remember that Blizzard's sequel unfortunately stumbled out of the gate, and while it saw a massive surge of players at the start, those numbers dropped in the following year. As time went on, user reviews complained about a number of issues such as monetization and controversies around the cancellation of the game's long-awaited PvE Hero mode. Now, however, with the launch of yesterday's (February 10) first year-long storyline, The Reign of...

The Future of Diablo Will Be Revealed Tomorrow
Blizzard Entertainment is just one day away from unveiling the future of Diablo with its 30th Anniversary Spotlight. Just like last week’s gargantuan Overwatch Spotlight, the February 11 presentation is said to show an extended look at new announcements and updates for the classic dungeon-crawling franchise. That means reveals for Diablo 4, Diablo 2: Resurrected, and Diablo Immortal, as all three games seek to keep players scrounging for loot in 2026. Unlike the presentation for its hero shooter, Blizzard has given fans a taste of what to expect. Diablo 4, which launched in June of 2023 and received its Vessel of Hatred expansion in October 2024, is barreling toward the launch of its next expansion, Lord of Hatred, this April. We...
