Quantic Dream announced Dustborn, a narrative-driven action-adventure game set in an alternate version of America. We got the first trailer for Dustborn at Gamescom Opening Night Live, which shows players will have the opportunity to venture across a Neo-Western America as they build relationships with their crew. Dustborn is described as "a single-player, story-driven action-adventure game about hope, love, friendships, robots…and the power of words." We are less than two months from the long-awaited sequel to Remedy's 2010 action-adventure game Alan Wake. And as anticipation grows, Remedy Entertainment has released a new gameplay trailer. At Gamescom Opening Night Live, the new trailer for Alan Wake 2 showcased "the dark place," the dream reality that spawns forth from Alan's mind. Diablo 4 Season 2 Called Season of Blood, Adds Vampire Hunter Companion

Blizzard has unveiled Diablo 4 Season 2, dubbed Season of Blood. It launches October 17. Season 2 adds a Vampire Hunter companion called Erys, who is teased in a cinematic shown at Gamescom 2023. Erys is voiced by actress and producer Gemma Chan. Diablo boss Rod Fergusson took to the stage at Gamescom 2023 Opening Night Live to say players get vampire powers as they track down and face off against a vampire lord as part of a new questline. Mortal Kombat 1 Reveals Two New Fighters at Gamescom Opening Night Live

At Gamescom Opening Night Live, NetherRealm revealed four more characters are joining the roster for Mortal Kombat 1. The two new playable fighters are Sindel and General Shao, while the two new kameo characters are Motaro and Shujinko. Medieval Fighter Warhaven Has A Release Date

Revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live, the upcoming medieval fighter Warhaven will launch on September 21. Warhaven's combat is a bit reminiscent of other third-person melee fighters like For Honor, but with larger scale battles. Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Is Coming to the Base Game Alongside Phantom Liberty

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will add a ton of new features and mechanics to the base Cyberpunk experience, but CD Projekt Red has revealed that fans who don't want to buy the DLC won't be left out in the cold. As part of Gamescom Opening Night Live, CD Projekt Red gameplay designer Yuliia Pryimak joined Geoff Keighley on stage to announce the Cyberpunk 2.0 update. Marvel Snap Is Now Available on Steam

Second Dinner announced today that its free-to-play digital collectible card game Marvel Snap is exiting early access on PC. Marvel Snap was released last year on Android, iOS, MacOS, and Windows, although the Windows version was the only one that was released in Early Access. Developer Second Diner previously explained that the reason the Windows version was in early access was to allow the team to get the community involved early "to provide feedback as [it] continue[d] development." Stormgate's Latest Developer Update Sheds Light on The Infernal Host

Stormgate, the upcoming free-to-play game from former Activision Blizzard developers that worked on StarCraft and Warcraft, has shared new details on its upcoming project. At Gamescom Opening Night Live, Frost Giant revealed new images and a behind-the-scenes video on the game's development. Sonic Frontiers The Final Horizon Update Coming This Year

At Gamescom Opening Night Live, it was revealed that a free content update is coming to Sonic Frontiers later this year. The Final Horizon update will include new story, new playable characters, and new challenges. In the cinematic trailer, Sonic and team face off against a large ominous enemy before Sonic harnesses the power of the Chaos Emeralds and transforms into Super Sonic. Sonic Superstars Finally Has a Release Date

Sega has finally provided a release date for its upcoming platformer Sonic Superstars. At Gamescom Opening Night Live 2023, Sega confirmed that Sonic Superstars will release on October 17, 2023. A new trailer, below, showed off local co-op with up to four players, and the online free-for-all Battle Mode. Sonic Superstars was announced a few months ago at Summer Game Fest. At Gamescom Opening Night Live 2023, Ubisoft released a new trailer for its upcoming project Assassin's Creed Mirage. The new trailer included an Arabic voiceover and various shots of ninth-century Baghdad. At Gamescom Opening Night Live, Bandai Namco finally announced a release date for Tekken 8. The latest trailer confirmed that Tekken 8 will arrive on January 26, 2024, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Age of Empire IV: Anniversary Edition Is Available Now on Xbox

At Gamescom Opening Night Live, Xbox and Relic Entertainment announced that Age of Empires IV is now available on Xbox consoles. First revealed last October during the Age of Empires 25th Anniversary Broadcast, Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition is now on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Xbox Game Pass. The game was originally launched on PC in 2021. The console versions of Xbox feature native inputs for those using an Xbox wireless controller with a UI designed specifically for the console versions. Little Nightmares 3 Revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live

In a surprise twist, Supermassive Games and Bandai Namco have officially announced Little Nightmares 3 at this year's Gamescom Opening Night Live. The reveal trailer unveiled two new characters, Low and Alone. Players can play single-player with the second character being controlled by AI, or can play with someone else in online co-op in a first for the series. It will be released sometime in 2024 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Blind players can now have Fatalities narrated to them in Mortal Kombat 1. The new descriptive audio option adds humor to the otherwise gory beatdowns. Forza Motorsport PC Requirements Revealed

Xbox and Turn 10 Studios have finally shared the PC requirements for the next iteration of Forza Motorsport. In a new blog post, the developer confirms that Forza Motorsport's PC release will support native resolutions up to 4K and higher. The upcoming racing sim will also support Nvidia's DLSS 2 and AMD's FSR 2.2 supersampling technologies. The PC requirements note that players must free up 130GB of SSD on their rigs to install Forza Motorsport. Half-Life 2 Will Be the Latest Game to Get a Ray-Traced Remix

As part of its Gamescom 2023 announcements, Nvidia revealed that the next game to get an RTX enhancement is Valve's critically acclaimed first-person shooter, Half-Life 2. Half-Life 2 RTX is being worked on by the Half-Life 2 community using an early access version of the RTX Remix creator toolkit. The RTX version of Half-Life 2 will use Nvidia's tech, such as hardware-focused ray tracing, Nvidia Reflex, RTX IO, and the third generation of DLSS. This is the latest RTX-enhanced game to use Nvidia's RTX Remix toolkit, which the GPU maker announced last year. Fortnite Is Getting DLSS 3 Support This Fall

Nvidia announced that Fortnite is getting DLSS 3. As part of its Gamescom 2023 announcements, Nvidia confirmed that Epic Games' widely popular free-to-play battle royale will get the third generation of DLSS. This is not the first time Nvidia has rolled out its DLSS tech onto Fortnite. In 2020, the company announced it would receive support for DLSS 2. DLSS 3 was released alongside the GeForce RTX 4090 and 4080 graphics cards last year. DLSS 3 is an AI-powered performance multiplier that can increase frame rates for supported games by up to four times what was previously available.
