Todd Howard Takes Gamescom Opening Night Live Stage to Show Off Starfield

Just a couple of weeks before Bethesda unveils its highly anticipated next AAA release Starfield, the studio's director and executive producer Todd Howard joined host Geoff Keighley on the Gamescom Opening Night Live stage to show off one final look and share a few words.


Howard took the stage to explain a bit about the story of Starfield. Noting how the game starts out with joining the faction The Constellation, which Howard described as "NASA meets Indiana Jones," noting how they are the last group of people that are venturing across the galaxy to explore the unknown that space has to offer.

While you start out joining The Constellation, Howard teased that players will experience a ton fo twists, but would not share much about the plot. Though with Starfield out in less than three weeks, fans will discover it soon enough.

We're just in the home stretch before Starfield debuts, becoming available in early access on Sept. 1 and releasing wider on Sept. 6 across PC and Xbox Series X/S. In fact, we're so close to its release that spoilers have already begun to leak, so be careful out there.

Reviews haven't debuted yet, but critics have gotten their hands on copies. In fact, we can reveal when reviews will debut: Aug. 31 at 9am PT.
