Disco Elysium developer ZA/UM has reportedly cancelled a standalone expansion for the game, leaving several staff members at risk of losing their jobs.
Sources close to the matter told Video Games by GLHF that around 24 employees, or roughly one quarter of all staff, are at risk of redundancy. Staff who worked on a game codenamed Project X7, which was allegedly the Disco Elysium expansion, are the most at risk of being laid off, according to GLHF, such as 2D, 3D, and technical artists alongside production, IT, and animation employees.

Sony has signed a deal with developer Far From Home to secure Forever Skies as a PlayStation 5 console exclusive due out at some point in 2024.
First-person post-apocalyptic survival game Forever Skies launched on Steam in Early Access form in June, and when it leaves Early Access later this year, it’ll have a console exclusive debut on PS5 with a same-day release on Steam.

Payday 3 developer Starbreeze Entertainment has admitted the heist shooter is performing "significantly lower" than it would like in both sales and player engagement.
As reported by Game Developer, Starbreeze admitted to the struggle in its latest financial earnings. "Payday 3’s sales and player activity are currently at significantly lower levels than we would like," it said. Improving Payday 3 will be its "biggest focus and absolutely priority" going forward as it attempts to "ensure that that the game lives up to expectations".

Revealed in a blog post, Update 5 adds the Ringer Tour and within it the Nordschleife, a portion of track which completes the Nürburgring race within Forza Motorsport. The Ringer Tour also introduces players to cards from various German manufacturers.

Despite what previous rumors suggested, the director of Dragon's Dogma 2 has clarified that the upcoming action RPG will not be locked at 30 frames per second but rather will feature an uncapped frame rate.
In a post on X/Twitter, Dragon's Dogma 2 director Hideaki Itsuno confirmed the game would feature an unlocked frame rate and support for variable frame rate (VFR).

The Eiyuden Chronicle X/Twitter account announced Murayama passed away last week. "It’s with a heavy heart and deep sadness we must inform you that Yoshitaka Murayama, the scenario writer for Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes and head of Rabbit & Bear Studios, passed away on February 6," it said.

Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead Games Studios has rolled out a new patch to address a range of matchmaking, performance, and stability issues affecting the popular co-operative shooter.
