It's no surprise why USB portable monitors are becoming so popular, especially with most people nowadys using laptops over desktop PCs. They provide extra screen real estate for road warriors and they're much slimmer and lighter than your average monitor. Many newer laptops now have USB ports that can power the monitor so that you don't even need to plug it into an outlet. Talk about convenience!
Amazon is offering an excellent deal on one such monitor during its big Spring Sale that's going on right now. For a limited time, Amazon Prime members can get the Anyuse 15.6" USB Portable Monitor for a low, low price of $39.99 with free delivery. This is an excellent way to boost your productivity by adding on a secondary display to your...
When I was in 7th grade, I thought Mega Man Star Force’s themes about friendship and brotherhood were profound. Its villains were cartoonishly evil, spouting lines like, “who needs friendship when you have power?” I ate all of that up! Playing through the Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection almost 20 years later, I now couldn’t help but wince at the cringy dialogue. That’s not a shock given this Nintendo DS series was tailormade for kids like me back then, but it was still fun to get a chance to reexamine these games on a deeper level two decades on. And when taken as a whole, Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection has a still-poignant story arc about gaining confidence through camaraderie packed alongside exciting card battling, newly...
Capcom's brilliant Resident Evil 4 Remake is celebrating its third anniversary, but there's one person who won't be celebrating: the game's infamous merchant, who players have left more than 3 trillion in debt.
In an official post on social media to mark the game's third birthday, developer Capcom revealed some official stats for all transactions made by the merchant across every copy of the game to date.
Over the past three years, the merchant has sold 39,914,290,699,099 ptas worth of gear (ptas here referencing the old Spanish currency of pesetas). That's a lot of bought gear (over 39 trillion's worth!) and yet... the merchant is still in the red.
Since launch, players have simultaneously also sold 43,251,570,618,389 ptas worth of...
Introducing Play Faster, a minimalist precision platformer purpose-built for speedrunning. Introducing Arbiter 131, a real-time tactical sci-fi strategy sim for PC by developer Ikon with a narrative focus in which you play as the titular Arbiter, analyzing citizen data to prioritize targets and remotely commanding police units. The question is, will you follow orders?
Set in the "corporate megacity" of Arkadia, Arbiter 131 bills itself as "XCOM meets Papers, Please and Door Kickers." It promises "branching narratives, moral dilemmas, and challenging tactical scenarios." Check out the announcement trailer (which is a mix of in-engine cinematics and actual gameplay) above and the first screenshots in the gallery below.
Ikon says "The game tracks how you handle each scenario and adjusts the narrative organically: there are no...
Hideo Kojima stressed to his team that he wanted to ensure that players jumping into Death Stranding 2: On the Beach would have a great time "all the way to the end."
Talking to PC Gamer, lead level designer Hiroaki Yoshiike said that his boss Kojima "wanted more people to enjoy the game" right up until the credits rolled. "This was an order he provided," Yoshiike said.
It's an interesting revelation, especially as just ahead of the sequel's release last June, musician Yoann "Woodkid" Lemoine said that Kojima made some big changes to the game halfway through because playtesting results were "too good," and he didn't want his work to be "mainstream" or easily forgotten.
Yoshiike said that while the first game "introduced all the new...
Shares in Pearl Abyss, the developer and publisher of Crimson Desert, skyrocketed today after the company announced 3 million sales — addressing a significant stock price collapse that occured around the game’s launch.
Yesterday, Pearl Abyss announced Crimson Desert had sold an impressive 3 million copies in just five days. The open world action game launched on March 19 and sold 2 million copies in a day, with an additional 1 million copies sold in the subsequent four days.
It's an impressive sales return, but things were looking a little shaky when Crimson Desert came out. Crimson Desert launched big on Steam with nearly 250,000 concurrent players, but was met with a 'mixed' user review rating on Valve’s platform. Much of the early...
A "fan-driven collaboration designed to give players a new way" to play EverQuest is on the way: EverQuest Legends.
Developed by Daybreak Games in partnership with Game Jawn, EverQuest Legends boasts everything you'll remember from the hugely influential game, including the original art style, graphics, zones, spell effects, loot, and music, along with "countless" contemporary improvements that improve things like the user interface, upgraded spell and ability management, and "other quality of life enhancements."
The gameplay itself has also been retuned and "designed from the ground up" to support casual or solo players by enabling players to select up to three active classes per character, and "utilizing new ways to upgrade weapons...
Marathon has been out for a few weeks now, and we’ve yet to get an official sales figure. So, how’s it doing? According to one analyst: “Marathon hasn't exactly made the splash Sony and Bungie wanted.”
Bungie’s ultra hardcore extraction shooter has sold around 1.2 million copies so far, according to a report by Alinea Analytics, generating gross revenues of around $55 million across PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S.
While Marathon is a first-party Sony game in the sense that it’s developed by the Sony-owned Bungie, it feels very much like a Bungie published game. Indeed, Bungie — not Sony — is listed as the publisher not just on Steam, but on the PlayStation Store. Perhaps that’s why an estimated 70% of the sales...
Sony's main PlayStation Plus Game Catalog addition for April 2026 has been leaked online.
As ever, the forthcoming month's additions have been posted ahead of time by reliable leaker billbil-kun from Dealabs — though, this time, just one title has been determined.
That game is Lords of the Fallen, the 2023 Souls-like action RPG that's a successor to the classic 2014 title of the same name. PlayStation Plus subscribers signed up to all membership tiers (Essential, Extra and Premium) will be able to play it from April 7 to May 5.
Lords of the Fallen's arrival via PlayStation Plus is timely, coming just a couple of months after its surprise Update 2.5 dropped in December, and a few months before the launch of a full sequel, Lords of...
Tekken 8's development team has released a statement promising to address the "strong community response" arising after hundreds of fans left negative Steam reviews, bringing the fighting game's recent reviews rating down to "Mostly Negative" on Valve's platform.
With hundreds of Tekken fans sharing their unhappiness via Steam reviews and the feedback portal over the last week or so, the Tekken team has responded to the "large volume of feedback," revealing it has received "over 700 submissions" and is reviewing each one.
The problem, it seems, is that despite assuring the fanbase that it's listening to feedback and would be going "back to basics," some players felt that Season 3 "tripled down on everything the players had issues...
Fortnite staff who survived yesterday's mass cull of workers say they're unable to comprehend the impact on the game's future this year "and beyond."
Yesterday, Epic Games announced it was making 1,000 team members redundant. In a statement, Epic boss Tim Sweeney blamed the job losses on the company "spending significantly more than we're making" amid a downturn in interest in Fortnite — despite it remaining one of the most popular games in the world.
In the hours that followed, numerous veteran Epic Games employees took to social media to confirm they were among those impacted. This includes senior and long-standing members such as design director Christopher Pope, principle engineer Evan Kinney, and lead writer Nik Blahunka — all of...
NetEase Games has pulled from decades of comic book history to pack Marvel Rivals with 48 playable heroes – but will it ever slow down?
We caught up with creative director Guangyun “GuangGuang” Chen and executive producer Danny Koo to learn more about the trajectory of their ongoing superhero hero shooter at GDC. While opening up about how NetEase plans to maintain its one-hero-per-month live-service strategy, the pair touched on whether players could soon see an original character created just for Marvel Rivals.
The short answer? Probably not, or at least not anytime soon.
“We have so many right now,” Koo said. “It's not the time.”
Koo reiterated previous confirmation that the studio has permission to create original characters...
Maybe I'm just making incorrect assumptions here, but in my head, only a very, very small number of people at this time know what's going to happen in Avengers: Doomsday. The film, planned to hit theaters on December 18 of this year, is expected to be a dramatic conclusion to Phase Six of the MCU and features just about every Marvel hero we've seen in the MCU so far that isn't dead (and seemingly at least one who we thought was? Maybe?). Naturally, then, everyone is wildly speculating about what's going to happen in Doomsday, but the only people that know are those working very, very closely on the film itself...
...and also, to an extent, the Marvel Rivals developers.
Speaking to IGN at the Game Developers Conference, the Marvel...
Square Enix, Innovation Arts & Entertainment, and AWR Music Productions just announced they’re partnering for “NieR:Orchestra Concert 12026 [ YoRHa ],” a concert tour that’s coming to the United States in the back half of 2026 and into 2027. It will visit nine cities during its run, with presale for all shows starting March 31 and tickets going on sale to the general public on April 3.
The tour begins in Seattle, Washington on August 7 and ends in San Jose, California on March 6, but will be in cities across the country in between. That includes stops in Illinois, Georgia, Colorado, Massachusetts, Texas, and Washington D.C. Game director Yoko Taro and composer Keiichi Okabe will be in attendance for opening night in Seattle, giving...
Marvel Rivals is officially coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, according to its developers.
In an interview with IGN at the Game Developers Conference, I asked Marvel Games executive producer Danny Koo if a Switch 2 version was still being considered. In response, he confirmed to IGN that it was actually in progress already. "We're working on it, but when we have news, we'll announce that one."
Just to be super sure he was really confirming a Switch 2 version at last, I reworded the question and asked again. He again confirmed, saying: "We will do it."
A Switch version of Marvel Rivals has been a point of discussion for a while now. Last year, prior to the console's launch, we spoke with producer Weicong Wu, who said at the time that...
A new VR game based on the heist action of Payday, Payday: Aces High, is coming later this year to Steam and the Meta Store.
The officially-licensed game brings four-player co-op to VR where you can "pull off daring jobs in VR using the latest black-market technology and high-caliber weaponry."
"After being framed by business titan Warren Jupiter, players team up to take revenge through the signature chaos of a Payday heist," the blurb teases. "Design your own unique loadout, mixing weapons, gadgets and skills to become the ultimate, high-caliber heister. Infiltrate banks, museums, and even a luxury penthouse apartment, surveying each scene before choosing the perfect moment to go loud and secure your payday."
Features include...
Fortnite developer Epic Games has announced it is laying off 1,000 staff, due to a "downturn in engagement" in its evergreen battle royale.
In a message to staff shared publicly this morning, Epic Games boss Tim Sweeney said the company was "spending significantly more than we're making", meaning that it now needed to make "major cuts to keep the company funded."
The news comes just a week after the launch of Fortnite's highly-anticipated new battle royale season, and two weeks after the company controversially raised the price of the game's lucrative V-Bucks in-game currency, prompting a huge backlash from players.
"Today we’re laying off over 1,000 Epic employees," Sweeney told Epic Games employees. "I'm sorry we're here again...
In the fast-paced, crowded landscape of live-service games, Digital Extremes' Warframe has been a recurring favorite among die-hard fans of online action-RPGs — and the community is still growing 13 years since its launch. With the volatility of the live-service games space in recent years, the creators of Warframe have managed to find their space and keep it growing, and the developers have plenty of thoughts on how their tenacious free-to-play online RPG is keeping things fresh, and has still got players clamoring for what's next.
Just before Digital Extremes' live showcase set for PAX West 2026, we sat down with creative director Rebecca Ford to talk about Warframe in 2026, how the evolving online action-RPG is continuing its...
Warframe turns 13 years old this week. Digital Extremes' free-to-play online action game has proven itself to be remarkably resilient over the years, establishing a loyal fanbase while staying relevant even when its competitors falter. And there have been plenty who have faltered in recent years. The live service space is littered with the corpses of failed video games. Concord. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Highguard. These are just a few of the high profile games that have tried and failed to carve out a piece of that lucrative live service pie. And with each big new live service release comes an obsession with Steam player numbers. Valve's is the only gaming platform to make concurrents public, and in lieu of sales and...
Scrambling up to a platform high above Trembling Gorge cost me time, stamina, and – when I mistimed my magical grappling hook – a big chunk of health. But it was worth it for the incredible panorama view of Hernand's eastern undulations.
Towards the southern coast, a stout fortress lurks behind a meandering line of spikes – a stone spire stabs skywards to the right, and from it a track tumbles down the hillside, spilling between gaps in the rock. North is a circular city squatting on a high plain, and beyond, faraway red hills, nearly flat-topped like mesas, an impossible spindly structure jutting from one peak.
Crimson Desert's world looks its best when it stretches beneath you, your eyes following natural paths between three, four...
You know that feeling of simultaneous delight and dismay you get when you finally roll the credits on a really good game? Well, a new report claims that that feeling is not only real, but has a name, too: "post-game depression."
According to a new study into the phenomenon, post-game depression (P-GD) is the "sense of emptiness that arises after completing a deeply immersive game," resulting in a sense of "loss, emptiness, or sadness."
As reported by News Medical Life Sciences, the paper claims that while "this phenomenon is widely reported by players (e.g., in social media), little research has been done in this field."
The study, published in January's edition of Current Psychology and obtained by IGN, claims to be the first-ever...
Crimson Desert has sold an impressive 3 million copies in just five days.
Pearl Abyss’ open world action game launched on March 19 and sold 2 million copies in a day. It’s now sold an additional 1 million copies in the subsequent four days.
“We are grateful to share Crimson Desert has sold through 3 million copies worldwide,” Pearl Abyss said. “To everyone who has stepped into Pywel and shared this journey with us, thank you. Your feedback continues to help shape the experience, and we will keep working to make the journey ahead even more enjoyable for our players.”
Crimson Desert launched big on Steam with nearly 250,000 concurrent players, but was met with a 'mixed' user review rating on Valve’s platform. Much of the early...
As players work their way through Crimson Desert, they’re discovering more and more unexpected things they can do in the open world. We’ve seen players learn they can tag team to an extent, cook meat with light from their sword, and even catapult themselves across the map with the power of trees. But this next find… well, I don’t think anyone saw this one coming.
Warning! Spoilers… and maybe a NSFW tag for Crimson Desert to follow:
Anyone who’s played Crimson Desert will know it’s packed with animals large and small. Many animals you can actually pick up (one early quest tasks you with lugging a sheep across town). Enter StaffProfessional68, who had a thought about the animals I doubt many others would have.
In the clip below, we...
If you're in the process of building a new gaming PC, the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D should be your top CPU pick, especially since it's discounted during the Amazon Spring Sale. For a limited time, this CPU has dropped to $419.95 with free shipping, which is the lowest price I've seen since its launch. Even better, it comes with a free voucher code for the highly anticipated Crimson Desert game, which will be released on March 19. The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D is widely considered to be one of the best gaming processors on the market and outperforms even pricier AMD and Intel CPUs.
The Gamer's Choice: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU for $419.95
Includes Crimson Desert
The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D boasts a max boost clock of 5.2GHz with 8 cores, 16 threads...
Crimson Desert might run pretty well on AMD and Nvidia graphics cards, but developer Pearl Abyss forgot about the third GPU manufacturer: Intel.
Tom's Hardware initally noticed the lack of suport, noting a FAQ entry that flat-out told gamers “If you purchased the game expecting Intel Arc support, please refer to the refund policy of the platform where the game was purchased.” Pearl Abyss has since walked back that FAQ entry, posting on Twitter that it was working on Intel Arc compatibility and to disregard the old FAQ entry.
However, it does seem that Pearl Abyss had every opportunity to work with Intel to ensure Arc support for Crimson Desert. In a statement provided to IGN, Intel told me "Over the past several years, we’ve reached...
After a successful Kickstarter campaign last year, pulling in 1.2 million dollars and reaching its funding goal in just 19 minutes, Night Crew Games' upcoming Cyberpunk Legends: Into the Night cooperative card game is getting closer and closer every day to those outstretched, expectant hands of its backers.
As a fan of other similar story-heavy deckbuilders, when the team reached out to see if I would be interested in checking out the game, I threw on my neon shades, grabbed all the eddies I could scrounge up, and headed to Night City. Little did I know then that I was about to try what would turn into one of my most anticipated tabletop games of 2026.
Cyberpunk Legends pits you and a team of up to three others into the streets of...
The Rock is currently losing Fortnite's new season vote that asks players to pick a side between his in-game character and a wintry villain.
It's a situation that caught the eyes of Fortnite fans this weekend after the discovery of a hidden in-game multiplier that appeared to be weighted towards The Rock's chances — even though he was still bringing up the rear.
The Rock's long-awaited return to Fortnite as the voice and likeness of fan-favorite in-game character The Foundation had been heralded by various trailers and teases, and in Fortnite lore he remains one of its most popular characters. So it's therefore been a surprise to see him currently lagging behind his new rival, The Ice King.
When first logging into the new season of...
