EA and Maxis are celebrating the 25th anniversary of The Sims franchise with a truly excellent surprise. Today, both The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 are available on PC once again via two Legacy Collections and The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle.

The Sleeping Dogs film adaptation, which was confirmed to be cancelled earlier this month, now has a chance of coming back courtesy of Marvel star Simu Liu.
As reported by Newsweek, Liu replied to a fan calling for an adaptation of the 2012 game on X/Twitter to say he is trying to get the film off the ground. "Working with the rights holders to bring Sleeping Dogs to the big screen," he said.
The adaptation was announced in 2017 with Donnie Yen set to star, but the film disappeared a year later and, just a few weeks ago, Yen himself confirmed it had been scrapped.

Player First Games has announced that MultiVersus Season 5 will be its last, bringing the Warner Bros. platform fighting game to a close May 30, 2025, at 9 a.m. PST.
The studio revealed plans to discontinue support for the crossover brawler with a blog post on its website. MultiVersus, which launched May 28 last year, will launch into Season 5 starting next week, February 4, and will continue through its May 2025 end date. The developer of Civilization 7 has explained why it strongly recommends even veteran Civ players stick with the tutorial for their first full campaign.
In a post on Steam, Ed Beach, creative director at Firaxis Games, offered his tips for your first game of Civilization 7.

Following layoffs at BioWare that saw the exit of many key developers of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, one former writer on the series has moved to reassure fans by saying: “DA isn't dead because it's yours now.”
This week, EA restructured BioWare to focus on Mass Effect 5 only. Some who worked on Dragon Age: The Veilguard were moved to projects at other EA studios. Some revealed they were laid off and were now seeking work.

Spider-Man 2 on PC was shaping up to be surprisingly performant once its system requirements were revealed. However, the Nixxes-developed port has debuted to a 'mixed' Steam user review rating, with many players complaining about technical issues.
Currently, 55% of Spider-Man 2's Steam reviews are positive. “Despite having a high-end GPU and running the latest Nvidia drivers (5.66.36), the game frequently crashes,” said one RTX 4090 user. Another read: “The game is completely unplayable on PC. The game crashes to desktop every five minutes. I have already requested a refund.”

Midnight Society, the game studio co-founded by stream Guy 'Dr. Disrespect' Beahm, has announced that it will be closing its doors and canceling its FPS game, Deadrop.

Xbox's popular racing game Forza Horizon 5 is heading to PlayStation.
In a surprise announcement, Playground Games announced that the most recent Forza Horizon game is coming to PS5 this spring. It will be the latest Xbox exclusive heading to the PlayStation console following Bethesda games like Starfield, Sea of Thieves, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
The PS5 version was developed by Panic Button in partnership with Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games and will feature the same content as the Xbox and PC version. Furthermore, Car Packs, and the Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure expansions will also be included.

Upcoming Xbox RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is the latest video game revealed to be getting a film adaptation, with plans in the works already despite the game not having even released yet.
This comes by way of a Variety report, which says that developer Sandfall Interactive has partnered with Story Kitchen for the film version, and Kepler Interactive will publish. Sandfall and Story Kitchen confirmed the adaptation to the publication, and Story Kitchen founders Dmitri M. Johnson and Mike Goldberg, along with Timothy I. Stevenson and Elena Sandoval will produce. No other details about the film such as casting or a release window were offered.

Science fiction has a long history of telling poignant human stories through the lens of non-human subjects. 2022’s Citizen Sleeper earned its place alongside stories like Blade Runner almost instantly thanks to its introspective interrogation of personhood and community in a world where all of it feels fragile, and this sequel’s strong, system-hopping story consistently hits the same highs. Team Ninja will release a Ninja Gaiden 2 Black update in mid February to make “balance adjustments” and add “additional features.”
The update was announced on X/Twitter but little was said about what it includes specifically. Sony’s Marvel Spider-Man 2 swings onto PC today, January 30, and while the intrepid webslinger’s port plans have been in the works for a while, we didn’t know exactly how well it might run on PCs until now.

Key Dragon Age developers have announced they are leaving BioWare after the developer restructured to focus on the next Mass Effect.
Yesterday, January 29, IGN reported that BioWare had moved a number of the studio’s developers onto other projects within EA as it focuses entirely on Mass Effect 5.
General manager Gary McKay said the studio is "taking this opportunity between full development cycles to reimagine how we work."
"Given this stage of development, we don’t require support from the full studio,” McKay continued. “We have incredible talent here at BioWare, and so we have worked diligently over the past few months to match many of our colleagues with other teams at EA that had open roles that were a strong fit."

The developer of the Path of Exile games has apologized to fans of the first game after putting a new update on hold until a crucial update for Path of Exile 2 is out the door.
Grinding Gear Games had promised fans that it would continue to update action RPG Path of Exile 1, which has been running for over 10 years now, through the release of Path of Exile 2 in early access and beyond.
However, Path of Exile 1’s 3.26 update, which was originally planned for release late October before the Path of Exile 2 launch, then planned for mid-February this year, is now delayed further, with all hands on deck sorting out Path of Exile 2’s problems. Assetto Corsa Evo is easily one of the most exciting racing games of 2025. The huge open-world map of German countryside surrounding the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife that developer Kunos Simulazioni is currently crafting for it should make it one of the biggest in the genre. Literally, that is. The map is going to be 1,600 square kilometres in size. That’s about 15 Forza Horizon 5s. However, we’ll need to be patient for that, as the first chunk of it isn’t set to arrive in Evo’s evolving early access version until mid-year, and then grow from there.
