Modern Warfare 3 Camo Locked Behind $60 Call of Duty Sling Bag Is Perhaps the Brightest Ever

Call of Duty is known for its elaborate camos (one of which is literally galaxies moving about), but playing with this latest skin is perhaps not the brightest idea.

The Royalty Tiger Weapon Camo for Modern Warfare 3 is exclusive to the official Call of Duty Task Force 141 Crossbody Sling Bag, sold from the Call of Duty Shop for $60 (you’ll need to pay more to get it shipped, of course). Here’s how the bag looks:

The bag comes with “free in-game content”: the Royalty Tiger weapon camo. While the bag is now marked as sold out, players have started to use the camo in-game, and, well, it’s perhaps the brightest weapon camo ever seen in a Call of Duty game. Just look at this thing:

So what's going on here? According to YouTuber LegoUnlocked, the Royalty Tiger weapon camo looks garish in Multiplayer, but it has the added effect of glowing in Zombies, where it burns so bright it makes your weapon look radioactive. Some maps it glows, some maps it doesn't. It's an odd one!

Call of Duty fans were quick to make jokes about this camo, with some calling it like playing with a flash bang, others saying it's pay-to-lose. It’s hard to imagine actually seeing what’s going on in-game with your gun glowing up like this, especially in Modern Warfare 3, which already has a visibility problem. Your opponents won’t have a hard time spotting you though, if you’re sporting this camo. You’ll stand out like a sore thumb... that’s glowing bright pink.

Here’s a snippet of the reaction:

This better let you cut people in half like a lightsaber with how bright it is

I can’t understand anyone forking out over $60 for a single weapon camo, but then again we live in a world in which Counter-Strike skins go for tens of thousands of dollars. Just be sure to wear sunglasses while you play.

Modern Warfare 3 has endured something of a rough launch. After its single-player campaign was universally panned, Activision was forced to pull various multiplayer maps out of the game because of spawn points that were causing absolute carnage. After the game’s first weekend on sale, those maps are still out of rotation for certain modes.

Activision has also faced calls to pull an “invisible” premium skin for the game players are having a hard time spotting on some multiplayer maps.
