Microsoft Made a SpongeBob SquarePants Xbox Series X

Microsoft’s fondness for special edition Xbox consoles continues with a SpongeBob SquarePants Xbox Series X.

The Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 Special Edition Bundle includes a custom-designed console inspired by SpongeBob SquarePants himself, “showing off his iconic smile, Krusty Krab uniform, and ecstatic arms,” Katie Schroder, Xbox Channel Marketing Director, America, said in a post on Xbox Wire.

The bundle also contains an Xbox Wireless Controller featuring SpongeBob and friends, including Squidward, Gary, and Mr. Krabs, in a collage of cartoon characters, as well as a digital download of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2.

But, as is also Microsoft tradition at this point, you can’t simply buy the SpongeBob SquarePants Xbox Series X. Fans only have the “exclusive opportunity” to get one through Best Buy Drops on the Best Buy Mobile App. Schroder warned a limited supply of the consoles go on sale at 8am PST on Thursday, March 7, 2024. The bundle retails for $699 and is only available in the U.S. “Download the Best Buy Mobile App, make sure you set a notification and act fast — once the drop goes live, it will only be obtainable while inventory remains,” Schroder said.

Recent special edition Xbox consoles include an Xbox Series S based on 'Pokémon with guns' hit Palworld, and a Dune: Part 2 special edition with a floating gamepad.
