Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel Looks Set to Include Multiplayer, Years After Cyberpunk 2077 Online Mode Scrapped
CD Projekt looks set to include multiplayer features in Cyberpunk 2, years after similar plans were scrapped for Cyberpunk 2077. A posting for the role of Cyberpunk 2's lead network engineer lists the job's responsibilities as including the need to "develop and optimize multiplayer systems, including matchmaking" with an aim to "address challenges related to latency, bandwidth usage and server performance." Applicants will also need to work "closely with game designers, gameplay programmers, and other departments to integrate network features seamlessly," the job description continued, to "play a pivotal role in designing and implementing the network architecture and online systems." As expected, the role is primarily based out of...

Apple Event Reveals Arknights: Endfield Set For Early 2026 Release, GRYPHLINE's POPUCOM Also Coming To Switch
Last week's Apple Event provided a first look at mobile gameplay from upcoming 3D RPG and strategy game Arknights: Endfield, alongside confirmation of the title's early 2026 release. The GRYPHLINE game, set in the same world as the studio's tower defence hit Arknights, featured in a segment showcasing the iPhone 17 Pro. The gameplay demo was shown running on the next-generation A19 Pro chip, which enabled the combat sequences to play out super-smoothly, while the hardware-accelerated ray tracing and 16-core Neural Engine helped the vibrant visuals of the AAA title to shine. Apple's post-event press release also exclusively revealed an early 2026 release window for Arknights: Endfield. Following its appearance in the showcase, the...
Everything You Need To Know About Jump Space
I think we can all probably agree that co-operative play just about makes every game better, right? Well, taking that idea to the next level is Jump Space (formerly known as ‘Jump Ship’), a rather natty effort that has up to four players crewing a spaceship across a volatile galaxy, taking on all manner of hostile aliens, uncovering cosmic treasures and completing missions to earn some precious funds to maintain and upgrade their trusty spacecraft. Put simply, Jump Space isn’t just shaping up to be one of the more promising spacebound offerings we’ve seen, but also one of the most promising cooperative games in recent times as well. Be sure to keep this guide in your favourites and bookmarks as we cover everything you need to know...
Nintendo Says Mods Don't Count as 'Prior Art' as They're Not Full Games, Attempting to Sway Judge in Palworld Lawsuit
User-made mods should not be considered prior art, Nintendo has argued, as part of the company's lawsuit against Palworld developer Pocketpair. Nintendo's claim appears to be an attempt at blocking Pocketpair from using popular Pokémon mods as evidence that the franchise's patented gameplay was already being featured in other games elsewhere. The argument put forth by Nintendo — essentially, that mods require a separate base game to function, so therefore are not art by themselves — has raised eyebrows across the games industry and among Pokémon fans alike, with many suggesting it could have far-reaching consequences if accepted by a judge. Writing in Games Fray, which first reported the development, games industry reporter and...
How Final Fantasy Tactics: Ivalice Chronicles Takes The ’90s Tactical RPG Classic To A New Level
When Final Fantasy VII was released all the way back in 1997 on Sony’s beloved original PlayStation console, it didn’t just spark a conflagration of interest for the JRPG genre at large; it also somewhat unintentionally cannibalised a chunk of interest for another Final Fantasy game, which was released in the same year – Final Fantasy Tactics. Some twenty-eight years later, Final Fantasy Tactics is poised to return on contemporary gaming hardware as Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles. This release not only brings a godfather of the tactical RPG genre to modern audiences, but does so alongside a raft of deftly considered improvements and audio-visual overhauls too. Here is how Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles is...

Steam Drops Supports for Windows 10 32-Bit, Says It's Only in Use on 0.01% of Systems
Valve has confirmed Steam will be dropping support for 32-bit versions of the Windows 10 operating system. The company said Windows 10 32-bit is used by just 0.01% of users, sparking the change. Windows 10 64-bit will still be supported and 32-bit games will still run. "As of January 1 2026, Steam will stop supporting systems running 32-bit versions of Windows," Valve explained in an update posted to its blog. "Windows 10 32-bit is the only 32-bit version that is currently supported by Steam and is only in use on 0.01% of systems reported through the Steam Hardware Survey. Windows 10 64-bit will still be supported and 32-bit games will still run." This means that while existing Steam Client installations should "continue to...
Amid a Turbulent Time for Fortnite Battle Royale, Epic Games Doubles Down on Rivalling Roblox, Letting Creators Sell Their Own Items for the First Tim
Fortnite maker Epic Games will allow creators to sell in-game items through its platform — and earn a better cut of sales than via Roblox. The announcement comes at an interesting time for Fortnite as a whole, which has seen lower than average player numbers for its core battle royale modes over the summer. At the same time, Roblox's player count has spiked thanks to trending hits like Grow a Garden and Steal a Brainrot. Now, Epic Games is doubling down on encouraging creators to its platform, after several weekends where a Fortnite version of Steal a Brainrot soared in popularity. Next up for Fortnite's third-party offerings will be the ability to sell items directly, with a better cut of the sales than in Roblox handed over to...

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Breaks Street Date, And The Physical Copy Includes a Leaflet That Gives Away Another Fan-Favorite DLC Crossover
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds' street date has reportedly been broken by some retailers, and the physical copies getting into fans' hands seemingly confirm what's coming up in the upcoming DLC via a leaflet nestled inside — including one character we didn't yet know about: Mega Man. Sega had said CrossWorlds would feature a huge roster of playable characters, both in the base game and additional DLC. Characters you’d expect to see, such as Sonic, Dr. Eggman, Knuckles, Shadow, and Tails are present and correct, but now you can also expect the likes of SpongeBob SquarePants, Avatar, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. What we didn't know was that an additional Mega Man DLC would also be included in the Season Pass, but that seems to be...

Borderlands 4 September 18 Update Improves Stability on PC and 'Smooths Out' Progression — but According to the Patch Notes Balance Changes Will Have
Borderlands 4 developer Gearbox has released the first meaningful update for the looter shooter that it said improves stability and “smooths out” progression — but there are no balance changes yet. “This update improves stability on PC, smooths out progression, and updates the Gilded Glory Pack loot and rewards for a more seamless experience,” Gearbox said in a post on the 2K Borderlands website alongside the patch notes, below. “Please restart your game to ensure that the update goes through and to prevent connection errors in matchmaking.” Meanwhile, Gearbox said Borderlands 4 will see weekly minor updates. These involve changes to which Weekly Big Encore Boss and Wildcard Mission is live. Maurice’s Black Market Vending Machine is...
Dying Light: The Beast Review
When setting out on my fourth journey of leaping across rooftops while slicing zombies in twain via the Dying Light series, I’d wondered if I’d feel any less joy from this violent survival horror-parkour this time. But after another 40+ hours of tucking and rolling I’m pleasantly surprised to say it’s still loads of fun, despite the basics not having changed much at all since 2022’s Dying Light 2: Stay Human. This trip through undead Eurasian cities and countrysides does up the ante somewhat by having you play as a human infused with a monster’s DNA, giving you the ability to rip people’s heads off with your bare hands. That’s as satisfying as it is unsettling, and it’s still absolutely horrifying to get caught out at night and get...
Jump Space Early Access Review
The ship was on fire. My crewmates were off-ship capturing the nearby defense cannons to aid our fleet, and I was fighting half a dozen Legion vessels. I wasn’t sure how long I could last solo, but if they didn’t get me, the fire would. I pointed the bow of our C-3 Catamaran away from the fighting, locked in the ship’s cruise control, and got up from the pilot’s seat, and turned to find most of the top level covered in flames. The lower decks weren’t much better. I grabbed the closest extinguisher and sprinted across the ship, putting out the inferno as fast as I could. Fortunately, the Legion ships gave me a few moments to breathe. When the fire was smothered, I turned us around. The cruise control had taken the Catamaran much farther...
Nioh 3: Will You Play as a Samurai, a Ninja, or Both? Exclusive Team Ninja Interview – IGN First
Nioh 3, the Warring States Period Soulslike, allows players to switch instantly between two different battle styles with the press of a button. Use Samurai Style if you want to fight with a solid, grounded approach; or use Ninja Style for swift and stylish combat. While the standard approach will likely be to select the style that best matches the enemy you're facing, the developers say that you can still beat the entire game while sticking to just one. According to them, their philosophy while creating the game was to not force a certain playstyle onto players. In our previous article, the developers explained that Ninja Style was added as "A new kind of action that would act as a major centerpiece, making players feel that the game...
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Review
Live and Learn is more than just one of the best songs in Sonic history; it also feels like a philosophy SEGA has taken to heart with Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. I've spent over 35 hours drifting, boosting, and gathering rings across an excellent set of tracks that span Sonic's 34-year history. Minutes effortlessly turned into hours, perfecting my drifting technique, customizing my vehicles, finding the optimal race lines in time trials, and frantically competing with friends to be the Grand Prix champion. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds could have been just another pit stop among a Grand Prix of 2025 kart racers, but instead it put the pedal to the metal and refused to let me take my hands off the wheel. I've played my fair share of kart...
'Even the Base Level Enemy Had to Be More Complicated, More Intelligent' — Team Cherry Explains Why Silksong Is Harder Than Hollow Knight
Hollow Knight: Silksong’s storefront-crashing launch may be behind us, but the debate about its difficulty rages on. Silksong is one of the biggest games of the year, hitting huge player concurrent numbers on Steam alongside a positive reception from critics. But amid the excitement over Team Cherry’s long awaited sequel is a debate within the community about whether the game is too hard — perhaps even unfairly so. It comes as no surprise to see Silksong’s early days mods dominated by those which make the game easier. IGN has already reported on how some Silksong players had expressed criticism across social media, subreddits, Discords, and Steam reviews about the game’s difficulty scaling and brutal runbacks. There’s one very early...
Borderlands 4 Patch Due Out Today, PC Performance 'Our Top Priority,' Gearbox Says
Borderlands 4 developer Gearbox has said improving the performance of the game on PC is its “top priority,” with a patch due out today, September 18. In a statement issued on social media, the developer said it was aware of the feedback from players on Borderlands 4 across PC and console, with patches coming to improve matters. Meanwhile, Gearbox said a field of view (FOV) slider for consoles is in testing. All eyes are on Gearbox right now to see how it deals with an internet backlash to the performance of Borderlands 4 — which has come despite huge player numbers on Steam. The studio released an update for the game on PC over the weekend — without patch notes — that didn’t seem to fix much of anything, so hopefully this new patch...
Horizon Zero Dawn Copycat Drama Continues as Tencent Claims Sony Was Already Concerned its Game Too Closely Resembled Enslaved
Tencent has hit back at Sony's lawsuit that claimed upcoming game Light of Motiram was nothing more than a "slavish clone" of Horizon Zero Dawn — and highlighted concerns within the PlayStation maker that its own game was too similar to Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. In a fresh response to Sony's legal action, Chinese tech giant Tencent branded the lawsuit as an "impermissible" attempt to claim ownership of "well-trodden" tropes — such as a red-headed heroine fighting robot dinosaurs — and a bid by Sony to gain a monopoly over an entire genre. In addition, Tencent highlighted past comments made by Horizon Zero Dawn developer Jan-Bart Van Beek, where the art director admitted concerns within Guerrilla that its concept was too similar...
AU Deals: Level Up Your Library with Today's Most Wallet-Friendly Game Picks

2XKO Review in Progress - Closed Beta Impressions
I don’t think there’s ever been a fighting game that I have played more of so long before release than 2XKO. Between three Evo demos and two “alpha lab” tests, Riot’s exciting League of Legends-themed 2v2 tag fighter has repeatedly popped into my life for a couple days, then faded from existence until the next time I get to throw down with my buddies Ekko and Ahri. But finally, with the recent closed beta, 2XKO is here to stay (if not fully available to everybody yet), which means it's time for some extended thoughts on why I’ve been looking forward to this exciting tag fighter. There’s a whole lot to unpack, so let’s start with the focus on simple controls. Unlike most fighting games that offer at least the option of using traditional...
Battlefield 6: All-Out Warfare (and One Iconic Map) Returns – and it Rocks
If the Battlefield series has ever been known for one thing, it’s the massive, chaotic scale of destruction that takes place in its largest multiplayer maps, and I got a wonderfully refreshing taste of just that when I dove into Battlefield 6’s upcoming 64-player game modes earlier this week. Mirak Valley, the biggest map available at launch, is a fantastic new warzone that reminds me a bit of a much bigger version of Blood Gulch from Halo, with two bases on each side battling it out in a massive, deadly no man’s land, while a remastered version of the iconic Operation Firestorm from Battlefield 3 made an appearance to kick me right in the nostalgia. Both were a literal blast to play, each in their own way, and it just felt so good to...
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Adds Clans to Base Game After Fan Outcry Over Launch DLC
Publishers Paradox Interactive and White Wolf, as well as developer The Chinese Room, have announced that the Lasombra and Toreador clans will be available in the base Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 experience following backlash from players. The team behind the long-in-development sequel revealed its launch shakeup today alongside two new story packs – Loose Cannon and The Flower & the Flame – which will be available as part of the Expansion Pass in 2026. Additionally, Paradox, White Wolf, and The Chinese Room have pulled back the curtain on a new Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 overview trailer for players to sink their teeth into while they wait for its October 2025 release date. Yakuza Kiwami 3 Seemingly on the Way After Fans Spot Alleged RGG Website Leak
Sega and developer Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG) Studio have seemingly leaked Yakuza Kiwami 3, suggesting an official reveal could be just around the corner. Users across X/Twitter and Reddit began drumming up hype after some noticed traces of Yakuza Kiwami 3 on the series developer’s official website. The original listing, which simply mentioned a third entry in the series of Yakuza remakes, has since been removed, though fans were able to capture screenshots of the supposed leak before it was taken down. The Kiwami series is RGG’s line of remakes of the original Yakuza games. Yakuza Kiwami 1, for example, is a 2016 reimagining of the original Yakuza, with Yakuza Kiwami 2 tackling Yakuza 2. Yakuza Kiwami 3 hasn’t been formally announced, but...
Still Stars Echo, a 'Meditative Space Odyssey,' Revealed for PC
Still Stars Echo is a "meditative space odyssey" with minimalist puzzles that takes you on a journey across the galaxy to uncover the mystery behind a lost civilization. It's in development for PC and due out in 2026. There's no combat and you can't fail, so you can just mellow out and traverse through Still Stars Echo's five chapters, solving puzzles along the way. But as the saying goes, it's not always about the destination but the journey itself, and Still Stars Echo promises a myriad of massive environments and an atmospheric soundtrack that developer Semidome, Inc. recommends you experience with headphones on. Check out the reveal trailer above and the first screenshots in the gallery below. You can wishlist Still Stars Echo on...
Skate Goes Viral As Players Find Unusual Ways of Traveling, But It Isn't Enough To Counter a 'Mixed' Steam Review Score
The long-awaited next-generation entry in the skateboarding series Skate is finally here, and some of the best moments we've seen shared by players so far don't even include a skateboard. A cursory glance on social media will bring up a whole host of viral clips wherein players are rolling, spread-eagling, falling, and sliding across Skate's maps. Or, as this player puts it: "Bro what am I even playing rn why is this faster than skating." Apparently, anyone can move like this, too. As KontoLetzPlay explains, you just need to hold forward and then move back and forth between a roll and a spread eagle as you go. "The roll is quick and pushing off with a jump in the roll is good," they said. "Meanwhile; the spread eagle gives you speed...
Borderlands 4 Performance Gets Worse the Longer You Play on Console, Randy Pitchford Suggests Quitting the Game and Restarting as a Workaround
Are you playing Borderlands 4 on console and have noticed odd performance problems the longer you play? You’re not alone. Players have reported their frames per second count fluctuating and gameplay stuttering on console, even on PS5 Pro. In fact, oddly, particularly on the more powerful PS5 Pro. Some players think this might be the result of Borderlands 4 suffering from a memory leak, although that remains unconfirmed for now. It seems restarting the game does help (some players are recommending restarting every few hours, which isn't ideal), but it’s hard to say exactly why because reloading can trigger changes that would perhaps improve performance anyway, such as time of day lighting. What we do know is that Gearbox is looking...
Assassin's Creed Shadows Has Immortalized a Fan's Beloved Cat, Olive
Olive, the beloved pet cat of an Assassin's Creed fan, can now be found and unlocked as a digital companion in Ubisoft's feudal Japan-set Shadows. Yesterday's big Assassin's Creed Shadows update predominantly added support for the game's first expansion, Claws of Awaji. But for one fan, something even more important was added too. Olive is the pet cat of Ropotopolous, an Assassin's Creed YouTuber whose channel icon shows his faithful feline dressed in Renaissance Assassin robes. Now, Olive can be found within Shadows itself, dressed in a similar costume — and good grief, it's one of the best things I've ever seen. In a video announcing Olive's inclusion, Ropotopolous said that Ubisoft developers had worked with him to hide Olive...
