Pocketpair has made the surprise announcement of an official Palworld Trading Card Game, due out this summer. Pocketpair has partnered with Japanese TCG specialist Bushiroad for Palworld Official Trading Card Game, which has a July 30, 2026 release date. The teaser trailer is below. Here’s the official blurb: As you’d expect, the announcement has sparked further comparisons between Palworld and Pokémon, which has a hugely popular trading card game of its own. “They really are going the Pokémon route and merchandising everything,” said one fan. “Palworld anime when?” added another. “Nintendo: heavy breathing,” said one YouTube commenter. “NOW THEY JUST TROLLING!!!!” laughed one fan. In September, Pocketpair announced Palworld...
It's been almost 10 years since we first stepped foot in Ubisoft's extraction shooter, The Division — yeah, I know — and it looks like the developer will celebrate by giving fans a chance to replay the experience in "definitive edition" form. While not confirmed by Ubisoft, advertising for an unannounced Definitive Edition has popped up in Japan, along with what looks to be hoodies, caps, and tees inspired by The Division's anniversary, although it appears those are just prizes for players jumping into the game at an esports event rather than simply being available to buy. What does this mean for us? Well, we're not quite sure. What we can say is The Division — which was announced at E3 2013 with a trailer that became one of the most...
Before we launch off the carrier deck, here's an important distinction for mild dyslexics like me. The Moza AB9 (which I’m quite familiar with) offers significantly stronger, smoother belt driven force feedback with 12 Nm peak torque. While today’s subject, the AB6 comes in a more affordable, compact bundle. We’re talking the base, a stick, mount but also only half the power at 6 Nm peak torque and a gear driven feel that can feel slightly... notchy. Not to give my impressions away in the intro, but the AB6 is what you ought to lock-on to if you need a great value entry-level to mid-range flight sim solution. I’ll always loop back to my AB9 as the premium high performance preferred, obviously, but the AB6 will now become the highly...
If there is one thing my download queue and shelf of shame agree on, it is that restraint has never been my strong suit. It's the big ten for Assassin's Creed Chronicles India, a midpoint entry in a 2.5D sub-series trilogy that plays not unlike Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. From portable gaming handhelds to smartphones, our lives rely on portable, untethered electronics, and it can't hurt to always have a charger on hand. Fortunately, they don't have to be expensive. Case in point, Amazon is currently offering a Baseus Picogo 67W USB Type-C wall charger for just $16.99 after you apply coupon code "T9TLS56H". This diminutive adapter has plenty of ports and enough power output to fast charge most portable electronics. Baseus Picogo 67W USB-C Wall Charger for $16.99 The Baseus wall charger is very compact thanks to its use of gallium nitride (GaN) instead of the more common silicon for its semiconductor material. This makes the charger smaller, faster, and more energy-efficient than a traditional charger...
Last month, Larian Studios presented console players of Divinity: Original Sin 2 with a special treat: an upgraded version of the game for PS5, Xbox Series, and delightfully, Nintendo Switch 2. But while Original Sin 2 has been on Nintendo's system since 2019, Larian's next game, Baldur's Gate 3, never made it to any Nintendo console. Why not? Well, Larian at least says it wasn't its decision. In a Reddit AMA today conducted by various members of Larian, CEO Swen Vincke took a moment to answer a question about whether or not Baldur's Gate 3 for Nintendo Switch 2 was "even possible". Sadly, his answer wasn't a happy one: "We would have loved to but it's wasn't our decision to make." Vincke is speaking in the past tense because...
The Sims developer Maxis is kicking off the new year with an update on what its whole deal is, after plenty of rumors and concerns about the future of the franchise. Ans as a part of that, it seems to be teasing the "next evolution" of single-player PC and console The Sims games...even as its long-touted "next generation" of The Sims, Project Rene, is relegated to a mobile-only social spin-off. This comes from a lengthy blog post on the EA website, in which Maxis speaks at length about its philosophy around The Sims in the coming year. Most of it is pretty mission statement-y, but in the middle, we get a glimpse of what's planned for the future of The Sims. For three years now, Maxis has been teasing something called Project Rene...
In the years since Baldur's Gate 3's release, Larian has put a lot of time and energy into updating the game with tons of new content, including new content for some beloved character who got the short end of the wizard staff the first time around, like Karlach. But one character is still coming up short for fans: Wyll. And at least one writer at Larian is just as frustrated by it as you. This comes from a Reddit AMA today conducted by a number of Larian employees, during which one person asked why Wyll wasn't developed further in post-launch patches, even as other companions got storyline and even personality updates. We've known for a while that the "Blade of Frontiers" warlock Wyll was rewritten significantly from his early access...
Red Dead Redemption 2 fans have made progress towards solving the game's newly-discovered spiderweb mystery, and now believe they've reached its final clue. Earlier this week, attention was thrown on a major new discovery within Rockstar's epic cowboy sequel, dubbed the biggest uncovering of hidden content in years. An intricately-placed breadcrumb trail of spiderwebs was found and plotted, leading to a further set of marked telegraph poles. These then pointed to a collection of guitars within the game's Fort Wallace location, where the trail temporarily went cold. Now, however, fans have pushed forwards — to what seems like a final clue beyond the edge of Red Dead Redemption 2's map, and a sense of what this whole mystery might...
Everyone likes to be feel special and game developers are no different, so congratulations to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Ghost of Yotei, the two games absolutely dominating the Annual D.I.C.E. Award Nominations. Both games scored eight nominations each, including for Game of the Year. Held by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences the 29th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards will take place on February 12 in Vegas, and will be hosted by Kinda Funny Games' Greg Miller and Stella Chung. “First, thank you to our peer panelists. Your dedication and expertise in our judging process, and yourwork in selecting the best games of 2025, is truly appreciated,” said Meggan Scavio, President of the Academy of...
It may only be January, but I say it’s never too early to look towards the future and try to predict what the best games of 2026 will end up being. I don’t have a crystal ball or some sort of undiagnosed superpower, but I do have a long list of all the games coming out over the next 12 months and a modicum of taste to guide me, though. Of course, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 secured a pretty convincing sweep of wins during the end-of-year 2025 awards, but who truthfully saw that coming before its April release date? So, what could surprise us this year? And will a left-field project have what it takes to steal this year’s IGN Best Game award away from the very obvious contender we can see coming from a mile off? Let’s take a look ahead...

Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure game set on the continent of Pywel. But how big is the open world, exactly? It’s “absolutely massive,” its developer has said, bigger even than that of Bethesda’s Skyrim and Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2. Speaking on the Gaming Interviews YouTube channel, Pear Abyss’ Will Powers said that describing the size of Crimson Desert’s world in terms of numbers doesn’t do it justice, because doing so fails to capture the scope and scale of the game. But he did go as far as to compare it to two of the biggest open world games around. "I don't think numbers really do it justice because, how big is that in terms of scope and scale?” he said. “But what we can say is that the world's at least...
Fans are saying farewell to Anthem, BioWare's failed live-service blockbuster, as its servers are switched off and the game disappears forever — officially, at least. Anthem publisher EA announced last year that the jetpack-fuelled shooter had just months to live, and cautioned that the server shutdown would render the game completely unplayable, with its world, characters and lore no longer available once the plug was pulled. Now, as this day has neared, new and returning players have loaded up the game for one last flight, and to push for the game's platinum trophy while they still can. Others, meanwhile, have begun a small push to keep Anthem alive via custom private servers — though the effort has been hampered somewhat by the...
Over two years after it was announced, Ubisoft is still working on The Division 3. And while it has yet to show off the game, its chief developer has said he thinks it will have as big an impact as The Division 1. The Division 1 was announced at E3 2013 with a trailer that went down as one of the most talked about of the show. After a series of delays, The Division released on March 8, 2016, breaking sales records for Ubisoft. The Division 2 followed in 2019, although it failed to make as big a splash at launch as its predecessor. While there’s no release date for The Division 3, the hope is Ubisoft will show it off at some point this year. Now, Julian Gerighty, executive producer of The Division franchise at Ubisoft’s Massive...
I went in intending to bookmark one or two deals and came out with a full-blown identity crisis about my free time. This list is stacked with more than a few all-timers, some are deeply silly, and a few are dangerously cheap for how much of your soul they will consume. Consider yourself warned. Contents Retro Nintendo Xbox PlayStation PC PC Gear LEGO This Day in Gaming 🎂 In retro news, I’m celebrating the 22nd birthday of Street Fighter Alpha 3 on GBA, a near impossibly good take of the PS One version. Avowed is the latest Xbox Game Studios creation to head to PlayStation, developer Obsidian announced today. This news came as part of an interview on the New Game+ Showcase, where Obsidian developers shared that the February 17 launch on PS5 would coincide with the game's promised anniversary update on all platforms. The anniversary update contains a number of long-requested features, including a New Game Plus mode, a Photo Mode, the ability to play three new races (Aumaua, Orlan, and Dwarves), a new weapon type, the ability to change appearance in the overworld, and a number of other asked-for upgrades. Pre-orders for the PS5 version will go live today, and the update will be available for free for those who already own it on other...
Embark Studios says it ‘should do a lot more’ with trading in Arc Raiders, but some players are worried about how a potential in-game market might affect the experience. CEO Patrick Söderlund expressed interest in a more robust trade feature for the popular extraction shooter during a recent interview with GamesBeat. The chat, which took place during an Arc Raiders session that lasted nearly two hours, saw the studio head touch on everything from movie deals to aggression-based matchmaking, but it’s the topic of trading that managed to get the community riled up. “We’re going to want to do more [with trading] because it’s fun. It’s a good part of the game,” Söderlund teased. “I agree: We should do a lot more of the trading component...
Hey, fellow Undertale and Deltarune fan. Did you know there was a Deltarune ARG going on? Did you know it's technically been going on for three years now? Yeah, neither did I! I first learned about the Deltarune ARG (Alternate Reality Game) earlier this week, when a video about it surfaced in my YouTube recommendations. I started out just mildly curious, but I quickly fell down a rabbit hole that had me digging through massive spreadsheets, scouring Reddit threads, and pouring over weird corners of the official Deltarune website. And now, I'm going to infect you with it too. In order to fully unpack the entire ARG in a way that covers every little bit of what's happened and what it could mean, I would have to spoil all four chapters...
Embark Studios has outlined its plan to deal with Arc Raiders cheaters after they became a hot topic in the community earlier this week. Cheaters are a concern for nearly all multiplayer games, but they’ve become an especially controversial subject amongst players recently. Reports of cheaters seem to be increasing in recent weeks, as players share clips and stories of others shooting them through walls and from unreachable areas. The conversation then reached a boiling point when popular streamers like Ninja, Nadeshot, and Shroud began publicly voicing their concerns. Embark confirmed it is taking action against the cheating problem in a message posted in its official Discord server. The note comes with an acknowledgement of the...
2013's Batman: Arkham Origins may not be the most critically beloved entry in the series, but many fans would argue it's the game with the best Batman costume design. After Xbox Game Studios boss Matt Booty teased the return of Microsoft's now-annual Xbox Developer Direct showcase last month, the publisher has now confirmed the details. The 2026 Dev Direct will air live on Thursday, January 22 at 10am PT. You can watch it live here on IGN or on IGN's YouTube channel. Booty had already confirmed the presence of accomplished Xbox Game Studios developer Playground Games at the event, and now we know for certain that both its upcoming blockbusters will be shown: Forza Horizon 6 and Fable. Given that both are expected to release this year and they are two of Xbox's biggest first-party offerings – and that we've yet to see proper gameplay from either one – we're due a proper look at gameplay. And that...
When a series such as Trails lasts as long as it has, sometimes things start to get weird. We’ve seen giant mechs, supernatural beings, and even multiversal time travel. After all of that, where else is there to go? Oh yeah, outer space! The vast, unknown territory of the final frontier is filled with possibilities, and The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon breaks through the atmosphere in order to tell a compelling sci-fi fantasy story filled with deception and intrigue. It also continues to refine the Daybreak saga’s hybrid action/turn-based combat system, with battles that are more engaging than ever before. The cliffhanger ending could make for a rocky re-entry for some, but when the dust settles, Trails beyond the Horizon...
Evidence of an under-wraps third expansion for The Witcher 3 continues to mount, with one report now pointing to a possible 'Dune-style' location for the new adventure. Word of a fresh DLC for the beloved 2015 blockbuster RPG began bubbling up in earnest last month, fuelled by a set of reports from insiders and apparent teases by developer CD Projekt that it had something secret in the works. Now, a report by IGN Poland has said its local sources have been aware of potential plans for several years, and that — initially at least — its developers had expressed a keen interest in exploring Zerrikania, an exotic desert region to the far east of The Witcher 3's current map. While IGN Poland cautions that this information dates back...
A ratings board leak has detailed Life is Strange: Reunion, a new game in the narrative adventure series that focuses on the return of fan-favorite character Chloe. Details of Life is Strange: Reunion have now been made public by the European ratings board PEGI, which published a now-deleted plot summary for the game online last night. Reunion's existance had long been rumored among Life is Strange fans clued into the franchise's ongoing development at troubled studio Deck Nine Games. The expectation is that Reunion will be made official in the imminent future, and launch not long after. Life is Strange: Reunion is particularly notable as it appears to revive (or return) the character of Chloe, the original game's blue-haired best...
