Cheating has been a huge problem in Call of Duty: Warzone, but a new anti-cheat measure will now give non-cheating players a "Damage Shield" that will prevent ne'er-do-wells from inflicting critical damage on them.
In a new blog, the team behind Call of Duty: Warzone shared details on new updates coming to its RICOCHET Anti-Cheat system that "relies on data to identify cheating behavior and make our banwaves more impactful." One of these new features is called Damage Shield, and it's an in-game way to not only stop cheaters from winning matches or killing players, but also to learn more about the cheater and stop them from doing so again.

Ubisoft has revealed the content roadmap for Rainbow Six Siege’s seventh year. As usual it includes four new operators, but 2022 will see the addition of three new maps, the much-requested cross-play and cross-progression, and a variety of new improvements to Siege’s player behaviour systems.
Starting with season one’s Operation Demon Veil, which was revealed yesterday, Rainbow Six Siege will receive a further four playable operators. Azami, a Japanese defender, has already been fully detailed, but the remaining three have only been teased. Season two will add a new Belgian operator, season three will introduce an operator from Singapore, and the final operator landing in season four will hail from Colombia.

Starfield's lead artist Istvan Pely has revealed that the overall aesthetic of Bethesda's upcoming space RPG is "NASA-Punk."
Pely and lead animator Rick Vicens spoke to Xbox Wire and discussed how this term really took on a life of its own and helped shape what Starfield is today.
"Early on in this project when we were trying to establish the overall aesthetic of this game, we sort of coined the term ‘NASA-Punk’ to describe a sci-fi universe that’s a little more grounded and relatable,” says Pely. “We wanted a very realistic take. You can draw a line from current-day space technology and extrapolate from there into the future so it’s believable and relatable.”

Nightingale, the upcoming survival game from Improbable studio Inflexion, is a magical realm-hopping adventure full of bizarre fae creatures and worlds inspired by Victorian themes and fairytales. Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is the first time developer Traveller's Tales has portrayed every movie in the mainline Star Wars series. As such, there are plenty of classic creatures the studio had to adapt for the first time, including ones that have never been made by Lego as physical kits. 343 Industries has announced that it will reset player ranks in Halo Infinite as part of a new update to ranked matchmaking. The mid-season rank reset will likely lower most players by one rank in order to counterbalance a system that has so far been "overly generous".

WWE 2K20 had some well-documented issues, and that’s perhaps putting it lightly. So with a two-year absence and an apparent back to the drawing board approach, you’d expect the latest entry in the grappling series, WWE 2K22 to come out throwing its hardest lariat. Well, from what my short hands-on time with the game has revealed so far, it seems as if it’s come out Cesaro swinging… mostly.
At first WWE 2K22 doesn’t quite feel like the radical evolution for the series that was promised. Sure, everything feels more polished and refined, but that’s to be expected from an extended development time, but it’s when compared to the last entry in the series, though, things begin to shine and the evolution pushes through.

Earlier this week, a video published to the official Final Fantasy Twitter account seemed to suggest that in Final Fantasy 6 Pixel Remaster, the iconic train suplexing scene would be missing a very important, specific level of suplex-ness.
As you can see, the train does not flip upside down:
For context, the scene is supposed to look like this, with the train upside down as Sabin descends back to earth with it.

Intel has shared more information on its upcoming line of consumer graphics cards, the Arc series. Today, the well-known CPU maker confirmed that its Arc brand GPUs for laptops will begin shipping this quarter, while those looking to buy a desktop GPU will need to wait until Q2 of this year.
Originally announced last August, Intel’s Arc brand will serve as the company’s foothold into a market, taking on GPU giants AMD and Nvidia. But Intel is playing the long game here with the Arc brand as the company also confirmed during its initial announcement that its GPUs will span “multiple hardware generations,” under the codenames “Battlemage,” “Celestial,” and “Druid.”

NERF and Minecraft have mashed up once again, this time in the form of a Minecraft Dungeons-inspired Sabrewing motorized NERF bow.
The Sabrewing Bow comes with an 8-round clip, and fires darts one at a time by pulling "back the string with the priming handle to power up the motor" and hitting the fire button. It also includes a clip-worth of darts, so you can go full-bore right out of the box.

Last year Wizards of the Coast announced a Magic: The Gathering crossover with Street Fighter, and today we’ve got the first official look at the eight cards that will be part of that Secret Lair drop – as well all 33 cards included in the other drops that will be part of the upcoming February Superdrop.
The Street Fighter Secret Lair will include eight legendary creature cards (as well as one more secret card that will be revealed during the Capcom Cup Pro Tour this weekend), each of which depicts one of the fighters from Street Fighter 2’s original roster.

EA has reportedly admitted that Battlefield 2042 "failed to meet the expectations of our players" in an internal meeting, and blamed the failure of the game on factors such as Halo Infinite's launch and the ongoing COVID pandemic.
According to a report by Xfire, EA held an internal company-wide meeting to discuss Battlefield 2042., where executives spent over 20 minutes examining what went wrong with the game's launch. Chief Studios Officer Laura Miele reportedly emphasized that it's important to acknowledge when the company has its misses, including Battlefield 2042.

Alongside its headless schoolgirls, savage demons, and various other ghouls and goblins, Ghostwire: Tokyo also features pettable Shiba Inus. It appears they're intended to do more than look cute, however, as developer Tango Gameworks has revealed they actually play a part in completing Ghostwire's side activities.
The game's official Twitter account posted (below) a short clip of protagonist Akito speaking to a Shiba and revealed the dogs are actually key to unlocking some collectibles in the game.

Elden Ring spoilers have leaked online just a week ahead of its official launch on February 25.
The game's opening cinematic has been unofficially published, so for those avoiding all Elden Ring content until its release, avoid searching the game's name on YouTube.
Several screenshots have also been posted on Reddit that show a never before seen area of the game, clearly something developer FromSoftware wanted players to discover organically themselves.

Baldur's Gate 3 is nearing an official release as developer Larian has said this will be its last year in development.
Studio head Swen Vincke told PCGamesN that, while the priority is always to make the game as good as possible, he expects Larian to achieve a full release in the next year.
He said: "We’re going to release it when it’s ready. The main goal here is quality: getting the game at the quality level that it needs to be.
"That said, we do think we still need a year to do that. But it will be the last year. We’re getting to the end of it."
Vincke added that Baldur's Gate 3's full release is "probably not this year, but it's not going to be much later than that."
