Ubisoft is removing access to Assassin's Creed: Liberation HD on Steam – seemingly even for users who have already bought the game.
As spotted by Nors3 on Twitter (below), the game can no longer be purchased on Steam following instruction from Ubisoft to remove it from sale. "At the request of the publisher, Assassin’s Creed: Liberation HD is no longer available for sale on Steam," a notice on its page reads.
Beyond just being removed from sale, however, "this title will not be accessible following September 1, 2022", a second notice adds.

An animator who worked on The Last of Us Part 1 remake has pushed back against the idea that it's just a "cash grab", and rather that is has had an incredible amount of care and effort behind it.
Robert Morrison – who also worked on God of War (2018), Resident Evil 7, and Injustice 2 – said The Last of Us Part 1 is, "the most meticulously built and crafted project that I have ever seen or been a part of in my entire career" in a tweet spotted by Eurogamer (below).
The game, which is a remake of the original 2013 PlayStation 3 version, has updated animations, new enemy AI based on The Last of Us Part 2, 60 frames per second performance, and an upgraded combat system.

According to recent job listings, Apex Legends developer Respawn Entertainment is currently hiring for an "Apex Universe FPS Incubation Title" that may very well be a single-player game.
As reported by Dexerto, one of the job listings in question is for a Senior Engine/Systems Engineer - C++ that will be a "Senior Systems Engineer (Apex Universe FPS Incubation Title)" that will "design, build, and maintain technology that enables the team to create engaging gameplay and fantastic experiences."

Apex Legends pro player Philip "ImperialHal" Dosen has made an important mark on the Apex Legends Global Series 2022 tournament for choosing not to kill a disconnected opponent despite $2 million being on the line.

Blizzard Entertainment is officially ending new content development for its MOBA Heroes of the Storm and will instead focus solely on keeping the game running smoothly with seasonal rolls, hero rotations, bug fixes, balance updates, and more.

In a Square Enix blog post, Remake's co-director Naoki Hamaguchi explained the logic behind why each specific summon made an appearance in the game.
"At an early stage of development we looked over the line-up of summons in the original FFVII and decided to go with Ifrit, Chocobo and Moogle, Shiva, Fat Chocobo, Leviathan and Bahamut, for a roster of six," Hamaguchi said. Some Hearthstone players have been offered 150 free booster packs - with a value of $180 - to return to Blizzard's Warcraft-themed card game.

Black Mesa, the Half-Life 1 remake that brought the game to the updated Source engine and added new content, is now being remade again... in the original Half-Life 1 engine.
As reported by PC Gamer, a group of modders are currently working on a demake of the remake called Black Mesa Classic, which will include Half-Life 1, in the original GoldSrc engine, but with the extra content and improved features added in Black Mesa.

Daniel Mullins, creator of Inscryption, has announced that his creepy deckbuilding roguelite that featured on many game of the year lists last year is coming to PlayStation.
Announced on the PlaySation Blog as part of today’s PlayStation Indies reveals, Mullins explained that the PS version of the game will make use of the RGB lights and speaker on the controller. Stoat, the game’s talking card, will have its audio played out of the controller, and the atmospheric lighting of the cabin Inscryption is set in will be reflected by the light of the DualShock/DualSense.

Grand Theft Auto 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, and the Mafia trilogy publisher Take-Two Interactive has ordered a popular virtual reality modder to take down his adaptations of the games.
As reported by PC Gamer, Luke Ross said on his Patreon that Take-Two is ordering that he removes "all their copyrighted works" from his Patreon page.
