Saints Row is getting a huge new update, and it’s said to be "a beast."
According to Saints Row’s Patch Hub, a new update is on its way in November, and it sounds as though it’s going to add a lot of new features.
“We would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience while we got this update ready for release,” developers confirmed. “It includes over 200 fixes and quality-of-life updates, so it’s a beast!”
The update includes plenty of new features, but most notably, improves co-op.
That’s right – Saints Row’s co-op system is getting an upgrade, making it much easier for you to team up with friends and rain chaos upon Santo Ileso.
“Co-op has been a huge priority for us,” they explained. “Significant effort...

Two years after a controversy over Doom Eternal's soundtrack mixing highlighted a behind-the-scenes conflict between the game's developers and composer Mick Gordon, Gordon is finally speaking out.
In a lengthy post on Medium, Gordon has offered his side of the conflict over Doom Eternal with an account that includes allegations that id Software failed to pay him for half the game's soundtrack, and that executive producer Marty Stratton was a recurringly abusive presence throughout his work on the score and the OST.
For context, Gordon's issues were first highlighted back in 2020 when the Doom Eternal soundtrack was released alongside the collector's edition and fans noted discrepancies in sound mixing between the soundtrack and the...

In the latest Call of Duty blog, patch notes outline how the studio will handle the next big release over the holidays. On November 16 at 8 am PT, Call of Duty: Warzone servers will temporarily go offline, and developer Raven Software estimates service should return on November 28 at 10 am PT.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 will launch on November 16 at 10 am PT as part of Modern Warfare 2 Season 01. With the downtime, developers at Raven Software “will be focused on ensuring the new...
The Disco Elysium situation has gotten even messier as its former directors are accusing the ZA/UM's majority shareholders of obtaining control of the company by fraud as the company is saying these employees were fired for misconduct.
In October 2022, Disco Elysium editor Martin Luiga shared that key members of ZA/UM, including lead writer and designer Robert Kurvitz, writer Helen Hindpere, and lead of art and design Aleksander Rostov, had left the company in an "involuntary" manner. Later that month, Kurvitz filed a lawsuit against the company, and now we have a bit more details on his allegations against ZA/UM.
Kurvitz and Rostov took to Medium to share more details about the ongoing situation at ZA/UM, and they level some heavy...

The year is 1936. Dmitry Sergeevich Sechenov, a professor at the Soviet Academy of Medical Sciences, has created a unique electronic storage device. Little does he know that his invention is the first step in a series of events that will result in a robotic massacre.
The year is 1950. Sechenov’s inventions have ushered in an age of technological prosperity for the Soviet Union. His laboratory, known as Facility 3826, is hard at work on a device that will link humans and robots. Thought control over machines is just years away.
The year is 1955. Robots have turned against their creators. Blood covers the floors and walls of Facility 3826. Atomic Heart begins.

Heads up, Halo fans. Nerf has a new dart blaster based on the classic Needler weapon from the Halo series. It’s part of the Nerf LMTD collection, which offers premium and special edition items targeted at various fandoms. This was announced last year, but it's finally out now at Amazon and a couple other retailers, with an MSRP of $99.99.
Nerf LMTD Halo Needler
The blaster comes at a premium price, but it has a lot more going on than your typical Nerf gun. The needles and other accent areas on the weapon light up when you grip the handle. It comes with a 10-dart rotating drum and 10 Nerf Elite darts.
It also includes a stand so you can set it on a shelf or desk for display. And you can turn on a special display mode that turns on...
A 2D pixel art Metroidvania based on Dark Souls III was seemingly rejected by Bandai Namco.
According to artist Thomas Feichtmeir (via Twitter), the side-scrolling Dark Souls 3 game was pitched to the company around 6 years ago… but, as we said, it was rejected.
“A Dark Souls 3 - 2D pixel art Metroidvania was pitched to Bandai Namco [around] 6 years ago,” he said. “This is now finally out of NDA, so enjoy the visuals created back then.”
A 2D pixel artist, Feichtmeir has worked on a number of Metroidvanias that were inspired by the darker tone of the Dark Souls series, including Blasphemous.
Although the above screenshot is all we’ve seen so far, it does look pretty impressive with its depiction of the Dark Souls 3 boss, the...

FromSoftware has restored online features for the PC version of Dark Souls Remastered after the servers were taken offline earlier this year due to hacking concerns.
Online features for Dark Souls: Remastered, Dark Souls 2, and Dark Souls 3 on PC were taken down in January this year after a “serious exploit” was discovered that allowed hackers to take control of player computers.
Over the following months Bandai Namco and FromSoftware worked to remove the exploit, and in August the Servers for Dark Souls 3 were successfully brought back online. Multiplayer services for Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin followed in October.
However, in the same Twitter thread FromSoftware revealed that, whilst Dark Souls: Remastered would...
As Halo Infinite's Winter Update arrives, 343 Industries has taken the time to thank its fans for their patience and support alongside promising shorter seasons, more consistent content drops, and "bigger things to come" in the future.
343 shared the message on Halo Waypoint, saying it knows the journey from Halo Infinite's launch "hasn't been the smoothest or quickest ride." It also said that the Winter Update - which adds match and performance-based XP, the Forge Mode beta, the official launch of online campaign co-op and campaign replay, two new maps, a new battle pass, the Covert One Flag game mode, and more - is a big moment for the studio.
"The Winter Update marks a major step forward for our game and studio, but this is just...
Street Fighter 6 will be getting a new Dynamic Controls option that is meant to "help button masher excel."
As reported by Game Informer, we already knew Street Fighter 6 would be getting a Modern control option that simplifies certain attacks into a single button press, but this third option - Dynamic Controls - looks to accomplish something more for a different type of player.
Game Informer's Brian Shea was able to see Dynamic Controls in action, and he saw producer Shuhei Matsumoto tap face buttons one at a time to use all kinds of different attacks. As Shea puts it, "It quickly becomes apparent that Dynamic Controls aren't meant to test your skills as a Street Fighter player but rather to ensure every player is included in the...

27 hours of Give Me God of War difficulty has gotten me addicted to things being chopped. Sometimes that means cleaving draugr in twain. Other times it's actual video games being sliced to the nicest price possible. Collected here are a range of things I'd totally buy (if I didn't own them already) from a wide range of generations. Every item's a worthy purchase. You don't even need to axe.

Over 10 million gamers have experienced Kojima Productions’ genre-defying title Death Stranding, according to a statement from the company on the third anniversary of the game’s release.
Upon its release on PS4 in November 2019, Death Stranding garnered a mixed reception from both critics and gamers alike, many of whom were unprepared for the radical departure from Hideo Kojima’s usual stealth espionage fare.
In our review of Death Stranding, we said it "delivers a fascinating world of supernatural sci-fi, but its gameplay struggles to support its weight." We gave the director's cut of the game in 2021 a 7/10, saying it "is more accessible than the original, but feels like a compromised version of the director’s vision."
However...
A new Monster Hunter mobile game is in development at Capcom and TiMi Studio Group, the Tencent-owned developer behind Call of Duty: Mobile and Pokemon Unite.
The yet-untitled game aims to "reproduce the hunting actions that define the Monster Hunter series" on mobile. Unfortunately, the announcement made no mention of a release date or window.
Capcom has been busy with its monster-hunting franchise lately, releasing three Monster Hunter games in the last four years: Monster Hunter World (2018), Monster Hunter Rise (2021), and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin (2022). World and Rise also received sizable expansions in 2020 and 2022, respectively.
Monster Hunter World has been especially successful for Capcom. With 18.5...
EA has shared its decision to "stop further development and investment" in Project CARS, the racing game series developed by Slightly Mad Studios.
According to GamesIndustry.biz, EA evaluated the status of the Project CARS series and determined that it would be best to retire the franchise to focus on other titles in its portfolio. The publisher confirmed its decision in a statement to the outlet, noting that affected staff would be moved into "suitable" roles within the company, wherever possible.
"Today we announced internally an update to our racing portfolio," an EA spokesperson said. "Following an evaluation of the next Project CARS title and its longer-term growth potential, we have made the decision to stop further...
Games have always existed in a numbers-obsessed industry. Sega vs. Nintendo defined a generation in the '90s, while today's comparatively mild console wars and monthly NPD reports keep sales figures near the forefront of games-related discussion. New monetization models require new metrics for success — monthly active users, player retention rates, in-game revenue, etc. — but one of the industry's biggest questions remains: What are the best-selling video games of all time?
To answer this question, we set out to compile the most accurate list possible by reaching out to publishers and digging through financial reports, news stories, interviews, and more. The result is the following list of the ten best-selling video games of all time...
In news that may throw some of you for a loop de loop, Sonic Frontiers is actually quite decent. I've therefore found the best discounts on an adventure steeped in fun, impressive fur and fishing with a very big cat. His name: Big. Because sure, why not?
Now is also technically the last day to secure a preorder on God of War Ragnarok, a game I've perhaps been featuring too much. Then again, it's the sequel to a thing that won our reader decided Best Game of All Time award. Spotlight: justified.

Publisher Take-Two Interactive has announced another milestone for Grand Theft Auto V with 170 million units sold, while Red Dead Redemption has hit the 70 million mark.
During Take-Two’s quarterly earnings call, the company’s investor presentation revealed sales numbers for both series. As a franchise, Grand Theft Auto has sold more than 385 million units, with 170 million of those attributed to GTA 5.
As pointed out by @DomsPlaying on Twitter, that’s a smaller jump from the “nearly 170 million” mentioned in Take-Two’s last earnings report. In that same report, GTA 5 sold around 5 million copies in a single quarter. Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, Take-Two executive VP of finance Hannah Sage noted the company only updates GTA 5’s...
Call of Duty publisher Activision Blizzard says the annualized franchise will see a "full premium release" in 2023.
During its Q3 2022 earning results, Activision Blizzard wrote about Call of Duty heading into next year, revealing that the company has plans for "the most robust Call of Duty live operations to date, the next full premium release in the blockbuster annual series, and even more engaging free-to-play experiences across all platforms."
However, whether this means a brand new game or more premium-priced content for this year's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 remains unclear. Bloomberg's Jason Schreier addressed Activision Blizzard's wording, saying the "full premium release" Activision Blizzard is talking about is "a...
Ubisoft has provided an update on the long-delayed Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, reassuring fans that the game is not canceled.
In the update, Ubisoft confirmed that The Sands of Time Remake is still in development at Ubisoft Montreal. However, Ubisoft has started canceling preorders for the game, saying, "Since the game currently does not have a release date, existing pre-orders have been cancelled and refunded where applicable."
The publisher said preorders "may reopen" once the game's new release date is announced. Ubisoft also said there are no plans to remake any other Prince of Persia title.
Since its announcement in September 2020, the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been delayed three separate...
When I played the open beta for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, I could immediately see the potential. I love soulslikes, but they aren’t necessarily known for having the smoothest combat, so it was awesome to see one that aspires to offer much more intricate and fast-paced martial options than your average death screen simulator. But where the demo I played a few short months ago showed promise, the new build I played recently showed a marked improvement in so many areas that my excitement went from high to counting down the days until launch. The fact that Team Ninja has taken such swift action on feedback from the beta is not only impressive, but also incredibly reassuring, and I walked out of the demo champing at the bit to play more...
In a thrilling conclusion, League of Legends Worlds saw the underdog DRX win the international championship in San Francisco this weekend. The beautiful opening ceremony at The Chase Center showcased just why League Worlds is called the Superbowl of Esports. The artist line up of Lil Nas X, Edda Hayes, Louis Leibfried, and Jackson Wang was a brilliant show of talent and production as the hype continued to build around Worlds 2022. In case you missed the incredible Worlds conclusion, don’t worry, we’ll get you up to speed.
The ongoing storyline of T1’s Faker trying to secure his Worlds win again after his last in 2016 while DRX’s Deft had a ten year journey to reach Worlds set up the stage for a tough battle between the two teams. T1...
Xbox is still working on rebooting some of its classic series', like Perfect Dark and Fable, and has acknowledged how another stumbled along the way with Halo Infinite.
In an interview with the Friends Per Second podcast, head of Xbox Game Studios' Matt Booty touched on some of the long-absent reboots, explaining timelines, partnerships, and obstacles. When asked about Perfect Dark and leadership changes on the project, the Xbox boss explained their partnership with Crystal Dynamics.
Booty referred to developer The Initiative and Crystal Dynamics’ efforts on Perfect Dark as “co-development,” and made it clear they’re an “equal partner in the development.” That is to say, Crystal Dynamics isn’t on board for just the outsourcing of...
2017's Nier: Automata finally made it to Switch last month, but director Yoko Taro wishes it had happened a few years earlier. The reason? Taro seems to believe if Automata had been released on Nintendo's platform sooner, there'd have been a better chance of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate incorporating the game's characters.
In an interview with Nintendo Life about the Nintendo Switch port of Nier: Automata, Taro implied 2B and 9S missing out on Smash Bros is somewhat of a sore spot, saying, "I am hugely disappointed that we did not make it in time to get into Smash Bros…"
The Smash Ultimate roster features third-party crossovers from franchises like Persona, Minecraft, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Tekken, and others, so...
Marvel Snap's first season ends later today, and one of the game's creators is suggesting Season 2 could feature Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Speaking to IGN, Marvel Snap's Ben Brode said the team at Second Dinner is looking forward to an upcoming Marvel movie that could tie in with the game.
“I’ll just say that there’s an exciting movie coming out from Marvel that we’re really, really excited about internally and maybe there’s some overlap there,” Brode said.
Reading between the lines suggests Brode is referring to Wakanda Forever, which is coming to theaters this Friday, November 11. The launch season of Marvel Snap featured the Symbiote Invasion event, starring the likes of Venom and Carnage.

Netflix is partnering with The Coalition to develop a Gears of War movie alongside an adult animated series.
Netflix tweeted on its official account this morning, "Gears of War was released 16 years ago today and to mark the occasion, Netflix has partnered with The Coalition to adapt the @GearsofWar video game saga into a live action feature film, followed by an adult animated series — with the potential for more stories to follow!"
Series creator Cliff Bleszinski, who recently spoke with IGN Unfiltered, responded by tweeting, "Oh sh*t!"
It's unclear if this project is connected to the Gears of War movie that has been stuck in development for the 15 years. Dave Bautista has been consistently attached as Marcus Fenix, which he has...
