Sega has finally provided a release date for its upcoming platformer Sonic Superstars.
At Gamescom Opening Night Live 2023, Sega confirmed that Sonic Superstars will release on October 17, 2023. A new trailer, below, showed off local co-op with up to four players, and the online free-for-all Battle Mode.
Sonic Superstars was announced a few months ago at Summer Game Fest. While not a straight follow-up to 2017's Sonic Mania, Sonic Superstars will allow players to play the iconic blue hedgehog, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy Rose. One of the more notable things about Sonic Superstars we learned in its unveiling is that Fang, a character who previously appeared in Sonic: Triple Trouble and Sonic the Fighters, will also return.

The new video showed off the very first level of Modern Warfare 3, dubbed Operation 627. The action begins in the Kastovian sea, where Alpha Team assaults an enemy compound at night. At Gamescom Opening Night Live, Cygames revealed a release date for its action RPG Granblue Fantasy: Relink, which will release on February 1 for PC, PS5, and PS4.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink was originally supposed to release this winter, but as the Gamescom ONL trailer revealed, the game has been pushed back into early next year. The project was originally announced at Tokyo Game Show 2016 and is based on the franchise Granblue Phantasy.

At Gamescom Opening Night Live 2023, Ubisoft released a new trailer for its upcoming project Assassin's Creed Mirage.
The new trailer included an Arabic voiceover and various shots of ninth-century Baghdad. As Ubisoft previously confirmed, not only will Assassin's Creed Mirage mark the series' return to the Middle East, but the studio also confirmed that Assassin's Creed Mirage will include full Arabic voice acting.

At Gamescom Opening Night Live, Bandai Namco finally announced a release date for Tekken 8.
The latest trailer confirmed that Tekken 8 will arrive on January 26, 2024, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The new trailer also showed off the game's single-player mode, which intends to hearken back to the days of the arcade scene, playing against friends and strangers in your local gaming hall.
Tekken 8 was announced in 2022 at the PlayStation State of Play showcase, it's the tenth overall entry in the fighting game series, and we previously learned that Tekken 8 will mark the return of Jun Kazama, Jin's mother, who we previously believed to be dead but was later revealed to be missing.

At Gamescom Opening Night Live, Xbox and Relic Entertainment announced that Age of Empires IV is now available on Xbox consoles.
First revealed last October during the Age of Empires 25th Anniversary Broadcast, Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition is now on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Xbox Game Pass. The game was originally launched on PC in 2021.
The console versions of Xbox feature native inputs for those using an Xbox wireless controller with a UI designed specifically for the console versions. In a surprise twist, Supermassive Games and Bandai Namco have officially announced Little Nightmares 3 at this year's Gamescom Opening Night Live.
The reveal trailer unveiled two new characters, Low and Alone. Players can play single-player with the second character being controlled by AI, or can play with someone else in online co-op in a first for the series. It will be released sometime in 2024 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

At Gamescom Opening Night Live, Assemble Entertainment and Gentlymad Studios announced that it is working on a sequel to its critically-acclaimed city-building game Endzone: A World Apart.
Building on its predecessor, Endzone 2 is a post-apocalyptic colony sim where players survive in a harsh world and repopulate mankind on habitable grounds. Assemble Entertainment notes that in Endzone 2, players can choose where they start and venture across diverse locations where unique loot and resources can be rewarded by exploring the environment. Xbox and Turn 10 Studios have finally shared the PC requirements for the next iteration of Forza Motorsport.
In a new blog post, the developer confirms that Forza Motorsport's PC release will support native resolutions up to 4K and higher. The upcoming racing sim will also support Nvidia's DLSS 2 and AMD's FSR 2.2 supersampling technologies.
The PC requirements note that players must free up 130GB of SSD on their rigs to install Forza Motorsport. The "Ideal Specs," which will have the game running at Ultra settings, notes that you should use a NvME SSD to install Forza Motorsport. As part of its Gamescom 2023 announcements, Nvidia revealed that the next game to get an RTX enhancement is Valve's critically acclaimed first-person shooter, Half-Life 2.
Half-Life 2 RTX is being worked on by the Half-Life 2 community using an early access version of the RTX Remix creator toolkit. The RTX version of Half-Life 2 will use Nvidia's tech, such as hardware-focused ray tracing, Nvidia Reflex, RTX IO, and the third generation of DLSS.
This is the latest RTX-enhanced game to use Nvidia's RTX Remix toolkit, which the GPU maker announced last year. The first game to use a toolkit was Portal, and more recently, the popular 2008 mod Portal Prelude also received an RTX remix.

Nvidia announced that Fortnite is getting DLSS 3.
As part of its Gamescom 2023 announcements, Nvidia confirmed that Epic Games' widely popular free-to-play battle royale will get the third generation of DLSS. This is not the first time Nvidia has rolled out its DLSS tech onto Fortnite. In 2020, the company announced it would receive support for DLSS 2.
DLSS 3 was released alongside the GeForce RTX 4090 and 4080 graphics cards last year. DLSS 3 is an AI-powered performance multiplier that can increase frame rates for supported games by up to four times what was previously available. Unfortunately, DLSS 3 is exclusive to the RTX 40 series graphics cards, so RTX 20 and 30 owners won't be able to play Fortnite on DLSS 3.

Konami has issued a fresh clarification on the resolution and framerate of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1.
In a statement issued to IGN, Konami said Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 has a 1080p/60fps “target” on all platforms except for Nintendo Switch. This means the collection targets 1080p/60fps on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. Specifically on Switch, the collection runs at 720p/30fps in handheld mode, and targets 1080p/30fps docked. No platform runs the collection at 4K resolution.

Microsoft has submitted a new Activision Blizzard deal for review after the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) confirmed the original deal is blocked.
To address the CMA’s concerns, Microsoft has restructured the deal to buy a “narrower” set of rights. This includes signing a deal with Assassin’s Creed maker Ubisoft to transfer the cloud streaming rights for all current and new Activision Blizzard PC and console games released over the next 15 years. The rights will be in perpetuity.

This may sound like a peculiar predicament for a first-person shooter to place itself in, but developer Ascendant Studios has made it work. How, you ask? Magic. Konami took to the social media website X (formerly known as Twitter) to clarify. The compilation was already announced for consoles, but only PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.

The battle for Game of the Summer has found its victor. Remnant 2 beat Diablo 4 to become the best-selling game of July 2023 in the U.S. According to the latest NPD data from Mat Piscatella, Gearbox's Remnant 2 ranked first in July sales for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and Steam, dethroning Activision Blizzard's Diablo IV.
Pikmin 4 was July's other notable debut, jumping into sixth place, just behind Final Fantasy XVI. Online updates also saw the return of Call of Duty: Black Ops II and Call of Duty: Black Ops III to the Top 20, coming in at #13 and #20 respectively.

Microsoft has announced the console wraps for the Xbox Series X, allowing owners of the company's high-end ninth-gen console to personalize their device.
Detailed in a new Xbox Wire post, the Xbox Console Wraps are made with solid core panels that wrap around the Xbox Series X. So it's not like console skins which are vinyl wrap and, more often than not, difficult to remove off a device once installed, making it easier to not only remove but also easier to replace with another wrap if you prefer.
Microsoft notes that the Xbox Console Wraps will not alter the console's performance, and as seen in the announcement video and the images, the wraps do not cover the vents.
