The actor behind Michael in Grand Theft Auto V, Ned Luke, openly endorsed Lucia, the playable female protagonist, in the highly anticipated GTA 6. As part of our IGN's GTFM video series, Luke was seen chatting with my colleague Akeem Lawanson. During the interview, Luke described the significance of Lucia as one of the two playable protagonists in GTA 6 while also addressing the claims that Rockstar has gone "woke" for adding her as one of the playable characters. "Lucia's hard, man. In the trailer, she looked good. You get a lot of these clowns out here going, 'Rockstar's going woke, they're caving into the wokeness of the world,'" Luke said. "First of all, there's been other female protagonists in the past, but not in something as...
With countless different endings and around 100 hours per playthrough, Baldur's Gate 3 is jam-packed with rooms, lines of dialogue, and characters that players might miss. However, one player has shared their especially meaningful experience with one of the game's lesser-known NPCs, and their story is now resurfacing thanks to a recent post from a developer. In 2020, Larian forums user Solfalia shared a post thanking Larian Studios for releasing Act I of Baldur's Gate 3 in early access — the game's early release enabled them to play with their father, who played previous Larian games with them but had recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. "This Early Access means that this Xmas I'll be able to go on an adventure with him...
Since long before it left early access in August, players have jumped into modding Baldur's Gate 3, adding everything from 54 new races to new controls. However, one recent modding trend has shed light on one thing: players really, really want Astarion to have a gun. Earlier this week, Nexus Mods user Palmaman33 uploaded several different gun mods to the site's Baldur's Gate 3 section, letting players bring guns to knife (or mace/staff/sword/anything) fights. These guns can be equipped by any character, but in almost every screenshot of these different mods shared by players on X/Twitter, however, the gun wielder always seems to be Astarion. Normally, Astarion is a hedonistic High Elf Rogue who has a secret vampiric past, but players...
PlayStation has listed the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, officially Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater (the Δ is pronounced delta), as a 2024 game. A trailer advertising various PlayStation 5 games coming in 2024 (below) includes lots of entries with established release dates (like The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth), but also quietly listed the release window for the highly anticipated remake. Publisher Konami is yet to confirm any sort of release date or window itself, though given it was announced by PlayStation in 2023 and is coming to the PS5, it likely knows it's stuff. IGN has reached out to Konami for comment. Not stopping there, the PlayStation trailer also listed the Silent Hill 2 Remake as a...
Will Ospreay donned entrance gear inspired by Jacob Frye from Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Syndicate video game when he strutted into Japan's Tokyo Dome at Wrestle Kingdom 18. Ospreay took inspiration from the wardrobe of master assassin Jacob Frye for his recent Wrestle Kingdom entrance, wearing a stylish top hat, a long hooded leather coat, and a gauntlet glove with a blade protruding from it. The British star thanked Ubisoft and Assassin's Creed on Twitter/X for allowing him to live "a lifelong dream." He battled against Jon Moxley and David Finlay for the inaugural IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship, with Finlay emerging as the victor of the three-way brawl. However, the best-dressed title had to go to Ospreay or Moxley, who...
The highly anticipated Silent Hill 2 Remake may have just received a release window as PlayStation quietly listed the game as a 2024 title. A reel advertising various PlayStation 5 games coming in 2024 (below) includes lots of entries with established release dates (like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and Rise of the Ronin) but also Silent Hill 2 Remake, which hasn't had any release window until now. The advertisement didn't offer any more details, as Silent Hill 2 Remake was simply listed amongst the other titles with some previously seen footage. IGN has reached out to developer Bloober Team for comment. Silent Hill 2 Remake is set to be a full recreation of the survival horror classic, though Bloober Team has been...
Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red has revealed the game's Phantom Liberty expansion has sold more than five million copies. Revealed in a post on X/Twitter (below), the developer confirmed the sales milestone and thanked players for their support. "Over five million agents have infiltrated Dogtown," it said. "Thank you for all your support, and good luck on your mission." Though no exact timeframe was released, CD Projekt Red said the five million copies were sold in 2023, and as Phantom Liberty launched on September 26, it reached the milestone in just over three months. The expansion surpassed three million units within its first week, with the strong reception, holiday period, and Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition seemingly...

Spoilers ahead for the original Final Fantasy 7 and potentially Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth! Final Fantasy VII Rebirth creative director Tetsuya Nomura has opened up about that one scene everyone can't wait to see play out, saying that he was "able to do what I truly wanted to show in this title." We are obviously talking about one of the most iconic scenes in the history of gaming - the death of Aerith by Sephiroth - and while Nomura wasn't going to reveal how this scene will play out in Rebirth, he did share with Game Informer some thoughts behind the decision in the original game and this new remake. "Beginning with the original Final Fantasy VII, when we had started working on it, it was already decided from the get-go that 'life'...
A recently revealed colorblind filter for Tekken 8 is negatively impacting disabled players with issues like nausea and migraines. While accessibility tools like colorblind options help to differentiate important on-screen information like opponents and their health bars, this setting is preventing some disabled individuals from viewing matches altogether. X/Twitter user SJS | Gatterall shared a 38-second clip of a brief match with the filter activated, stating, “Why is no one talking about the colorblind accessibility of Tekken 8. Literally no game has done this.” The video showcases a match with the background stylized after an uncolored comic panel. The fighter on the left is defined by vertical black lines that consistently move...
Thank your own personal deity—possibly Doomguy after typing 'IDDQD'—it's Friday! Today is all about the continuing deals of "Winter" at places like Fanatical, Green Man Gaming and the various first-party console eshops. I've done my best to filter through the white noise of a thousand odd "deals" to find you the true hidden gold. Business as usual, basically. In retro notables, it's been 30 years since (arguably) the best Jurassic Park game slid into Aussie Super Nintendos. The "friend of convenience" who lived over the road from me had this, and we spent hours marvelling at a movie tie-in title that was way better than it had any right to be (the Wolfenstein 3D sections were particularly ambitious for the hardware). This Day in...
The Xbox Series X and S are no longer new. Year 4 has begun, and thus we are officially into the middle portion of what we expect (courtesy of Microsoft’s lawyers accidentally leaking the company’s own product roadmap) to be an eight-year console generation. So where do we stand? In last year’s version of this piece, I wrote, “2023 is a year of serious promise for Xbox, but it comes with an understandable sense of urgency from Xbox owners.” That urgency remains for 2024, following the mixed reception for Starfield, the most important launch for Xbox since, arguably, Halo 3 in 2007. But there’s even more reason to be optimistic coming out of 2023, as Hi-Fi Rush kicked the year off with a unique and award-nominated rhythm-action game that...
Steam has revealed its "Best of 2023" list that reveals the best-selling games on the platform alongside which titles were played the most on PC, Steam Deck, VR, Controller, and more. While Steam doesn't rank the games that were in each category, its "Best of 2023" list does group them into Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze tiers. The top 12 games in each category are placed in Platinum, the next 12 are in gold, the next 26 games are in Silver, and the last 50 are in Bronze. As for how the lists are compiled, Steam has only looked at data from January 1, 2023, through December 15, 2023. The first category is the Top Sellers by gross revenue, and the Platinum tier includes Apex Legends, Baldur's Gate 3, Starfield, Hogwarts Legacy...

Since 2019, the Sinden Light Gun has been the first and only contemporary light gun that will work on modern TVs and displays. Yet despite the technical achievements made, its creator, Andy Sinden, is aiming higher to make this a product not just an easy way to play your favorite light gun games on an high-definition TV, but to fully revive a niche and otherwise forgotten sub-genre of games. “My development priorities for the Sinden Light Gun is all about adding support to more hardware, emulators, and games. So finding ways to work directly on old consoles such as NES, PS2, and Dreamcast and supporting more systems good for emulation systems like Steam Deck and MiSTer FPGA,” Sinden explains. “Working with emulator developers to add...

Sun Haven is a farming sim for people who love high fantasy, magic, and skill trees. It’s Stardew Valley, but just a touch nerdier. Fire Emblem really changed the way tactics games could be. Suddenly you could care about your units, and also sometimes date them even if you were their teacher, and it’s really suspicious, and you definitely shouldn’t. It also allowed anime to be a viable strategy for, well, strategy games. Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga […] The post Symphony of War is a tactical masterpiece with some fantastic mechanics appeared first on Green Man Gaming Blog. Continue reading...
Magicraft launched at the beginning of this month, and it’s absolutely amazing. In fact, […] The post Magicraft Is The Unholy Child of Binding of Isaac and Noita appeared first on Green Man Gaming Blog. Continue reading...
