Ever since The First Descendant launched at the end of June it’s had an away from keyboard (AFK) problem. Now, developer Nexon has asked its player base to please stop going AFK and please refrain from AFK farming.
Nexon’s free-to-play co-op focused looter shooter has enjoyed enormous popularity, with over 10 million players in just 10 days. But out on the battlefield there’s an increasingly troublesome issue that’s driving some players up the wall: AFK farming.

A playable build of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has reportedly appeared on a piracy website two months before the official release date.
Insider Gaming reported that the build weighs in at 75GB, is dated June 20 (which suggests it’s near complete), and, crucially, is playable. While some assets are placeholder, the build allegedly lets players play with friends.
Videos have already appeared on YouTube showing gameplay in what is a devastating leak for developer Saber Interactive, Warhammer 40,000 owner Games Workshop, and publisher Focus. Saber Interactive is currently working to take down the footage, but as with all leaks of this kind, it faces an uphill battle preventing spoilers from hitting the internet.

As reported by GameSpot, @TWolvesLead on X/Twitter posted a photo of Shannon Jr shooting a free throw during an NBA Summer League game and asked: "Is that a GTA cheat code on Terrence Shannon Jr's arm?"

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's beta dates have been officially confirmed, marking the first time the beta for the popular shooter will be available on all platforms at the same time.

The upcoming highly anticipated Fallout: London mod will not be playable with Epic Games Store copies of Fallout 4 at launch.
A GOG spokesperson confirmed the trouble with Epic Games Store support with VG247. Fallout: London will require players to downgrade their versions of Fallout 4 wherever they’ve purchased it. That means reverting the latest version of the game to an earlier update, with options available to do so being offered for storefronts like Steam and GOG.
GOG, which is helping distribute the mod, says the Epic Games Store’s lack of support for update rollbacks will keep players on that platform from enjoying Fallout: London.

The team behind Baldur's Gate 3 had to collect so many awards that game development was negatively affected.
Speaking to Edge, Baldur's Gate 3 director Swen Vincke said the number of awards received became "a real problem" as Larian had to send "rotating teams" of staff out to collect them.
"It affects development. There's a lot of them," Vincke said. "This has been a real problem." Expansion-sized Fallout 4 mod Fallout London has already secured the likes of Baldur's Gate 3's Neil Newbon for its voice cast but now has announced that, bizarrely, former UK Speaker of the House John Bercow will star, too.
As reported by VG247, Fallout London project lead Dean Carter revealed in Fallout London's Discord that its post-apocalyptic version of the UK capital will still have a Speaker of the House (the member of parliament who chairs debates between political parties), and in true Fallout fashion the position is now held by a robot.

Mortal Kombat 1 developer NetherRealm has released a gameplay trailer for final Year 1 DLC character Takeda ahead of his July 23 release date alongside Kameo character Ferra.
Takeda is one of the so-called Kombat Kids alongside Cassie Cage, Kung Jin, and Jacqui Briggs. The gameplay video, below, shows off a number of Takeda’s moves and combos, which revolve around his trademark bladed whips, as well as pre-fight interactions (Johnny Cage, for example, wants him to star in a superteam action movie).

After a weekend of server problems, Once Human developer Starry Studio has revealed how it struggled to cope with the unexpected number of players who have descended upon the game.
Once Human is a free-to-play multiplayer open world survival game from Starry Studio, a developer owned by Chinese games company NetEase. It launched on PC on July 9 and quickly found an audience, with a huge peak concurrent player count of 231,668 on Steam.

Ubisoft has cancelled the Driver TV adaptation but insisted it's still working on projects related to the beloved racing series.
Speaking to Game File, Ubisoft confirmed it had cancelled the show, which was announced in 2021 as a collaboration with streaming service Binge and not heard from since, after dissolving film related subsidiary (named after Driver protagonist) Hotrod Tanner LLC.
"We are no longer moving forward with our partnership with Binge for a Driver series," a Ubisoft spokesperson said. "We are actively working on other exciting projects related to the franchise and can’t wait to share more information in the future."

A former Activision developer has mentioned a Crash Bandicoot 5 that failed to materialize.
Nicholas Kole, who worked at once Activision-owned studio Toys for Bob as a character designer and illustrator for over three years on the likes of Spyro Reignited Trilogy and Crash Bandicoot 4, had tweeted about a separate project, codenamed Dragon, that was in the works at Dauntless and Fae Farm developer Phoenix Labs and was just weeks away from an early access launch before it was canceled.

Sony has extended the Concord early access beta by a day.
The early access beta, which Sony had opened up to all PlayStation Plus subscribers, was meant to end on July 14. It now runs to Monday, July 15, at 12pm PDT, 9pm CEST, 4am JST. The open beta is still set to run from July 18 to July 21, unless Sony decides to extend that too.
Players have got stuck in to the Concord early access beta over the weekend, and it seems to have gone down well with PlayStation 5 players. The early access beta is also available on PC via Steam only to those who have pre-ordered. There, the beta saw a peak concurrent player count of 1,124, set three days ago. Synced is a free-to-play co-op shooter developed by NExT Studios and published by Level Infinite, Tencent’s global games brand. Nexon’s free-to-play looter shooter launched at the end of June and saw immediate popularity, with an impressive 264,860 peak concurrent players on Steam alone. (Microsoft and Sony do not make player numbers publicly available.)
Nexon has now confirmed the impressive total player count of 10 million in seven days. It said “we’ve reached” 10 million players, which suggests this figure relates to player accounts, rather than dormant downloads.

Persona 4 Golden PC players who don't want to enjoy the remake's upgraded graphics can now turn back the clock with a mod which makes it look like the original PlayStation 2 game.
As reported by GameSpot, the P4 Fog Restoration mod on GameBanana looks to recapture the "visual identity" of the original Persona 4 before it was remade for PlayStation Vita and subsequently ported to other consoles and PC.
