Helldivers 2’s highly anticipated 01.000.4000 patch is finally here, bringing with it a mass of gameplay tweaks, balance updates, and fixes to the popular co-operative shooter, along with invite-only lobby creation, and a big change to the galactic map.

Elden Ring has sold 25 million units ahead of its expansion Shadow of the Erdtree launching on June 21, 2024, developer FromSoftware has announced.
In a post on X/Twitter, the colossal 25 million units sold milestone was revealed alongside a thank you to fans who have purchased the game. Elden Ring publisher Bandai Namco announced the game crossed 23 million units sold in March 2024, meaning it's grown another two million in less than three months.
This all comes ahead of what will likely be another sales boost for the game too when its only expansion Shadow of the Erdtree launches.

In retro news, I'm celebrating the 12th birthday of Lollipop Chainsaw, a Suda51 cult-hit. Sony has announced the new PlayStation Plus additions for June 2024, revealing the list of new games for Extra and Premium subscribers to enjoy starting next week.
As promised in a PlayStation.Blog post, the titles, which include highlights like Monster Hunter Rise, Crusader Kings 3, and a selection of Lego games, will be available on June 18. It’s a group of offerings that range from new releases to older PlayStation classics, totaling in 14 new games for the PlayStation Plus catalog.

LEGO games have been historically well-regarded for their self-referential humor and family-friendly gameplay, and Horizon: Zero Dawn was a game of the year contender when it came out in 2017. Elden Ring creator Hidetaka Miyazaki has said that using guides to beat FromSoftware titles is “a perfectly valid playstyle” in a new interview with PC Gamer, but that the Japanese studio has “room for improvement” if players who want to go in fresh can’t beat the game “organically”.

Revealed as part of a new trailer, Visions of Mana will arrive on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on August 29. Posting to X/Twitter, modder Craneo showcased a retro version of The Dark Ages' saw shield being used in the opening level of Doom 2 on PC. The mod replaces the original game's chainsaw with the new shieldsaw, but this isn't just a re-skin. Action game aficionados have been well-fed in the recent past with games like Stellar Blade and Sekiro, but based on a new hands-on gameplay demo at Summer Games Fest, it looks like Phantom Blade 0 will stand up with the leaders in the genre.
Aside from a short tutorial, the demo does not take much time setting things up, preferring to leap right into the action.
