Double Fine's Kiln will launch in April across PC and consoles, following a series of closed playtests and an open beta on Steam.
Kiln is a multiplayer party brawler where you create your own characters from pottery, and the latest idea from the team that gave you Psychonauts 2, Costume Quest, Brutal Legend and Stacking.
You can sign up now for a series of vaguely mysterious closed playtests (which you have a chance at joining) and the game's general open beta on April 9-11, all of which seems to be Steam-only. After that, Kiln will launch fully across PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on April 23.
Kiln began life back in 2017 as a game concept that Double Fine cooked up in a game jam, then popped on a shelf while it was busy...
If you don’t know The Seven Deadly Sins series – which, for context, includes over 40 volumes of manga, five seasons of TV, multiple movies, and a handful of other games (and that’s before I get into the spin-offs) – then The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin might seem like just another gacha game you can easily skip. However, despite such a sizable backlog of source material, this sprawling adventure is a lot more beginner-friendly than you may expect. And, after spending around 20 hours trawling through its secret-littered map, interacting with its inhabitants, and fighting off a sinister blight, it still feels like I’m only skimming the surface. And what I’ve seen so far has made me keen to search every nook and cranny of this arresting...
Free-to-play anime open-world RPG The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is available to play now on PlayStation 5 and Steam, giving you an early chance to dive into a new adventure before it launches on mobile on March 23.
The game is set in the same world as The Seven Deadly Sins manga and anime, and for those of you familiar with the massively popular series, it’s set between The Seven Deadly Sins and its sequel, Four Knights of the Apocalypse. It focuses on Tristan, the son of main characters Meliodas and Elizabeth from the original series, and it’s built in Unreal Engine 5 to deliver quality visuals that make you feel like you’ve stepped directly into the anime.
But if you don’t know the series and don’t recognize any of those names we...

Daredevil actor Charlie Cox is working on a new video game project, following his award-nominated turn as Gustave in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
Speaking to YouTube channel Agents of Fandom, Cox said the role — his first in the realm of video games — had "opened a new avenue for my professional work" and inspired him to take on another video game project this year, one that he was "much more involved" in.
For Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Cox only provided the voice of Gustave rather than full performance capture for the character — something which meant his time actually spent recording for the project was minimal, while motion capture was separately filmed by another actor. For his next video game project, however, Cox suggested...
If it can hold up against the staggering, expansive weight of its complex systems, Never's End might be an all-timer. Big words, I know, but playing even just half an hour of this Final Fantasy Tactics-style tactical RPG with its director left me buzzing. It’s painted in a charming, 2D-meets-3D art style and set in an expansive world, and even my demo held hours of content to explore that I only scratched the surface of.
Developer Hypersect knows it's stepping up next to giants. So it employed a kingmaker in Masayoshi Nishimura, the original character artist behind Octopath Traveler and Triangle Strategy, to get that distinct East-meets-West look this genre’s known for. Transformed into detailed sprite-like 3D models, Nishimura’s art...
John Carpenter is famous for being a horror movie icon, having directed everything from Halloween to The Thing. But he loves his video games, too, and has even put his name in front of one: John Carpenter's Toxic Commando, a co-op first-person shooter that recently launched across PC and consoles.
So, we thought we’d ask John himself what his favorite video games of all time are, plus a few he’s really looking forward to. As you’d expect, John Carpenter's Toxic Commando is among them, but there’s also mention of the likes of Fallout, Borderlands, and the odd surprise.
John Carpenter’s favorite video games of all time:
Borderlands 2, Gearbox Software, 2012
Borderlands 2 stays with you, it has teeth, the characters are strange in...
Just like the movies it's drawing from, Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch knows exactly what it is. It’s full of crude humor aimed squarely at fans of the originals—and the demographic that sees itself represented in its stars, myself included—and to that end, Chronic Blunt Punch’s sense of humor breathed life into a lot of my recent demo. Similar to that unabashed sense of humor, this is happy to be a classic beat-em-up.
I went hands-on with a near-final version of the latest JSB game and was given all but free reign to run wild through New Jersey as the unlikely heroes. Playing solo, I was more or less told that I'd hit a point that was too difficult to try without getting a game over. But, as if I'd been hit by a chronic blunt...
Blizzard Entertainment has established a very rich and detailed mythology in the various Diablo games, and now that mythology is expanding into the comic book realm once more. Titan Comics has partnered with Blizzard to kick off a new four-issue series called Diablo: Dawn of Hatred.
IGN can exclusively debut a new preview of Diablo: Dawn of Hatred #1. Check it out in the slideshow gallery below:
Diablo: Dawn of Hatred is written by Cullen Bunn (Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe), drawn by Daniele Serra (Hellraiser Anthology), and colored by Jovanna Plata (The Black Monday Murders). The first issue features covers by Adam Gorham, Nick Marinknovich, Dev Pramanik, and Andrea Olimpieri.
Here's the official description for the series...
The PC version of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach has reportedly leaked online. It appears that an unencrypted version of the game was briefly available when Steam open up to pre-loading ahead of tomorrow's (March 19) PC launch.
While it's not clear how long the unencrypted files were available, they were apparently there long enough for players to grab the 113GB game, circumvent Steam's DRM, and upload the full game to piracy sites. According to PC Gamer, the pirated copy does not bundle all language packs, so some, including Russian, are reportedly missing.
As you may well expect, anyone caught disseminating the pirated game is at risk of sanctions, and anyone playing it will not be able to access any of Death Stranding 2's...
I left Marathon's pre-release server slam convinced that I was dying too quickly, and that its short "time to kill" jarred with the game's hero shooter identity. What's the point in a smokescreen that turns you invisible, a deployable shield, or a smiling healing drone if your health bar vanishes before you can think about using them?
Now, 40 hours later, I've completely changed my mind. Marathon's time to kill (TTK) is, I believe, perfectly tuned for tactical firefights between co-ordinated teams, and it's all because of how shields work.
Let me first say that I prefer a shorter TTK in extraction shooters. Fragility is part of the fun. Knowing my gear could instantly vanish forever encourages caution, planning, stealth, and – when...
An official Cyberpunk Trading Card Game has raised $7.5 million on Kickstarter, hitting its $100,000 goal in just five minutes and becoming the most-funded trading card game (TCG) in the crowdfunding platform's history.
Developed by WeirdCo in conjunction with CD Projekt Red, the TCG will bring the Cyberpunk franchise to the "physical trading card space for the first time." The debut Cyberpunk TCG set, Welcome to Night City, is set to launch later this year, and includes iconic characters like V, Jackie Welles, Johnny Silverhand, and Judy Álvarez. Players can mix and match their favorite characters in competitive decks or personal collections, with Set 2 expanding the game further and fully introducing characters from Cyberpunk...
Sony is issuing automatic refunds to players who paid for additional content in Highguard.
Highguard launched on January 26 after almost no communication with prospective players between its December The Game Awards announcement and its release date. While Steam concurrents almost hit 100,000, they soon plummeted. And though developer Wildlight was quick to address issues with the game, even adding a 5v5 game mode to counter 3v3 complaints, it wasn't long before most of the studio was laid off. Wildlight went on to announce that it would permanently shut down Highguard on March 12, but not before a "farewell tour" patch.
Now, as spotted by players and shared on Reddit, refunds seem to have been issued automatically, with one refunded...
Alan Wake developer Remedy has launched its final update to FBC: Firebreak, its Control multiplayer spinoff which has failed to find much of an audience.
Available now, the final update adds a Friend's Pass system to the game, so that up to three people can play when only one owns a copy. Going forward, FBC: Firebreak has a new lower price, too: just $19.99.
Remedy says it intends to keep FBC: Firebreak servers online for the foreseeable future, and the game patched if necessary to ensure it remains playable if issues do arrive. But this is the end of new content drops for the game, it said in statement on the matter.
"Open House will be the last major update for FBC: Firebreak," Remedy wrote. "We won't be adding new playable...

Nvidia just announced DLSS 5, an upcoming iteration of its AI software suite for graphics cards at GTC 2026. However, there has been significant backlash, due to the changes it seems to make to a game's aesthetic. But Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang disagrees.
At a press Q&A event at the GPU Technology Conference, Jensen Huang took a question from Tom's Hardware's Paul Alcorn about the backlash to the technology, saying that "Well, first of all, they're completely wrong," while reiterating that control over the implementation remains with the game developers.
"DLSS 5 fuses controllability of the of geometry and textures and everything about the game with generative AI," Huang said. "It’s not post-processing, it’s not post-processing at the...
Subnautica 2 is entering early access at last.
IGN can exclusively reveal that both developer Unknown Worlds and publisher Krafton have agreed the game is ready for its early access release in May on Xbox and PC, though an exact date hasn't been provided just yet.
Unknown Worlds head Steve Papoutsis shared the following message with the Subnautica 2 team today:
This comes as a major victory for Unknown Worlds on the heels of its developers achieving a significant victory in a legal battle with publisher Krafton. Last year, CEO Ted Gill and other senior team members were unexpectedly fired from the studio and the game's launch was delayed, with Krafton alleging that Gill and his colleagues were "checked out" and had failed to...
IOI Partners has announced today it will no longer publish MindsEye, leaving all publishing rights and responsibilities in the hands of developer Build A Rocket Boy.
As shared in a press release today, the transition is effective as of March 16, 2026 and IOI Partners will no longer be involved with MindsEye except as necessary to make the transition happen. In addition, a planned crossover event between IOI's Hitman: World of Assassination and MindsEye has been canceled.
IOI peacing out of this isn't shocking given the mess that's been MindsEye. The game was developed by Build a Rocket Boy, a studio headed up by Leslie Benzies who produced several entries in Grand Theft Auto, which lent it significant anticipation. Originally, it was...
Project Hail Mary will be released in theaters on March 20.
When Phil Lord and Chris Miller departed Solo: A Star Wars Story mid-production in 2017 due to “creative differences,” it left a lot of people imagining just what a space epic from the directors of 21 Jump Street and The Lego Movie would have felt like, and whether the duo were up to the task of levelling up the scale of their filmmaking to that degree in the first place. In that sense, Project Hail Mary, their first live-action directing effort since 2014’s 22 Jump Street, feels like vindication for Lord and Miller. The pair and star Ryan Gosling prove perfectly suited to each other’s sensibilities, opening the door to an exciting interstellar adventure that, even through...
Needing some more Resi in your life? Resident Evil 7: Biohazard joins the Xbox Game Pass lineup this month, as part of Microsoft's second wave of March additions.
This month's list is also headlined by Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, which allows you extend your mob life and karaoke dreams outside of Japan all the way to Hawaii, and noted indie darlign Disco Elysium, which you should really play if you haven't already.
For subscribers who don't have the top-tier Premium package, this month marks your first oppurtunity to dip into arty adventure South of Midnight and celebrated 2025 game of the year winner Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. You also get to try The Alters, the oddball survival game where you create alternate versions of...
Following its initial reveal last year right here on IGN, the new entry into the extremely competitive trading card game market, Cyberpunk TCG, has officially launched its Kickstarter campaign.
The campaign has already far exceeded its initial backing goal of $100,000, raising over $3 million at the time of publication (and continues to rise).
With the door open for fans to support the project's development, there’s a broad spread of options now available to consider backing. At first glance, options scale from starter decks at $49, all the way to an expansive "Night City Legend" tier that's priced at almost $8,000, and even several stretch goals to boot.
At the most accessible end is the Common Cyberdecks tier, at $49 and $10 off...
Epic Games has released key artwork for the next season of Fortnite, confirming the return of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and the inclusion of Bugs Bunny.
Showdown, which goes live later this week, features the highly-anticipated return of Johnson's Fortnite hero The Foundation — something that followers of Fortnite lore have been awaiting for years, and Epic Games has been teasing for some time.
The next season will also see Looney Tunes characters join Fortnite, with the suggestion here that Bugs Bunny (and all the other skins seen in the image) will be included within the next battle royale battle pass. (Separately, leakers have suggested that Daffy Duck and Lola Bunny will land in the item shop for purchase separately.)

It's par for the course for developer Bethesda to support its games post-launch with a slew of updates and DLC (or expansion packs, as we had in the old world). And with about two-and-a-half years since the release of Starfield, Bethesda hasn't abandoned it and is actually implementing foundational changes to how the sci-fi RPG works – largely things that its community has asked for. This major update hitting April 7 also coincides with the launch of the PS5 port, finally; a new version for a new audience. Little things like better inventory management and weapon upgrades to new useful items and having actual space travel on ships, these are changes to core systems along with a story DLC starring a new faction.
I visited Bethesda Game...
Bethesda Game Studios carries a lot of history with it, so when I visited its office in Maryland to check out what's new with Starfield's upcoming overhaul and DLC, there was much more on my mind. Thankfully, I was able to sort through some of that when I talked with studio head and creative director Todd Howard for a one-on-one interview where he gave some insight on Starfield's path from launch to where it is today and shared some new details about The Elder Scrolls 6 and where Bethesda at with its next massive RPG. But we also discussed RPG philosophy, Creation Engine 3 for The Elder Scrolls 6, and why he just doesn't want to announce games so early anymore.
You can watch the video version above or the transcript of our conversation...
Bethesda director Todd Howard is tired of being asked about The Elder Scrolls 6, and would rather we all pretend he just didn't announce it at all.
That comes from an interview we conducted with him which was not about The Elder Scrolls 6, but about Starfield, at a preview event for the upcoming major Starfield update, which you can read all about here. While we were chatting about Starfield, Howard happened to mention feeling uncertain about how early to announce updates, and the effort it takes to make sure the community knows the team is working on something without making them wait for something forever.
Which, you know, brings to mind another game with this exact problem. The Elder Scrolls 6. So, we mentioned it.
"Just pretend...
Bethesda has announced its long-awaited list of updates and additions to Starfield, which fans have been anticipating as the game's 'version 2.0' moment.
Today, Bethesda announced Terran Armada, a new paid story DLC which features a new questline, characters, locations, enemies and rewards. It'll be priced at $10, or free if you own Starfield's Premium Edition.
Separately, there's a raft of additional changes and content coming for all players named Free Lanes — which includes the game's long-awaited update to spaceflight, allowing you to travel between planets in the same star system.
All of this will arrive on April 7, which is conveniently also when Starfield makes its long-awaited touchdown on PlayStation 5. The game will also...
Embark Studios has published Arc Raiders update 1.20.0, revealing a somewhat short list of patch notes with two noticeable changes: nerfs for the Il Toro shotgun and energy clips.
Patch notes for today’s update were published on the extraction shooter’s website today. Highlights for the update, which is now live across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S, include the new Rawhide outfit and new haircuts, as well as several fixed glitches, but the real game-changers will affect PvP and PvE players across the board.
The Il Toro has prevailed as one of the more popular – and powerful – weapons for PvP players in Arc Raiders. Its close-range damage, coupled with well-timed dodge rolls, feels almost unstoppable in the right hands...
Amazon's Big Spring Sale may be right around the corner on March 25, but already we've spotted some excellent video game deals worth grabbing. The most exciting pick to catch our eye is on Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for PS5, which has dropped to $24.99 at the retailer (see it here).
Not only is this a massive 64% discount from its original list price of $69.99, but it marks a brand new low for the game at Amazon, according to price tracker camelcamelcamel. What better time to grab it, really?
Save on Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for PS5
If you haven't added it to your library yet, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a game we consider to be one of the best video game remakes of all time, so you can feel content knowing you're in for a great time...
So, Nvidia just revealed DLSS 5, its new AI graphics tech that uses generative systems to “enhance” video games with more photo-realistic effects, and I’m not going to worry about mincing my words here: I think it looks shit. Yes, we’ve barely seen a minute of it in action, but if what’s teased is where technology giants think the future of graphics tech in games is going, then I’m afraid I’m out.
The first shot of Nvidia’s DLSS 5 announcement trailer gives us a good look at the impact the technology has on Capcom’s latest, Resident Evil Requiem. It’s already a stunning-looking video game, so I can’t say I ever felt it was in need of enhancements, but lo and behold, as that green bar sweeps across the screen, a yassified Grace Ashcroft...
