Rocksteady is adding Deadshot's daughter Zoe Lawton, supervillain alias Lawless, to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League on October 1. The studio announced the new character in an X/Twitter post alongside word that Season 3 begins on the same day. Lawless is the daughter of Deadshot who has appeared in the lore of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League for a while, but only now confirmed as an official playable character. That being said, leaks from earlier this year revealed she would eventually be added to the game. The announcement will still come as welcome news to fans, of course, given the rocky nature of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. It launched in January 2024 as a live-service game featuring the likes of...
Visual Concepts has released the third patch for annual basketball game NBA 2K25 which fixes bugs and removes the magic t-shirt that accidentally gave players extra experience. An update to the NBA 2K25 website revealed the patch notes which open with an assurance that "a number of" issues in MyCareer and the City have now been fixed, including one bug that stopped players progressing to the offseason. Players who enjoyed a bizarre exploit for the first few weeks of NBA 2K25 being available will be disappointed to hear it's also been kicked, as Visual Concepts has "removed the 1.5x REP bonus that was erroneously attached to certain clothing items in MyCareer." The full patch notes are available below. NBA 2K25 arrived September 4...
Sony has doubled the price of PlayStation 4 game Horizon: Zero Dawn following the reveal of its PS5 remaster. Eurogamer spotted the price rise in the UK (from £15.99 to £34.99) but the price also rose in the U.S., jumping from $19.99 to $39.99 on the PlayStation Store. Horizon: Zero Dawn has been at the previous price point for years as part of the PlayStation Hits collection, and other entries such as God of War and The Last of Us Remastered have remained at the typical $19.99 price. The price rise comes just days after Sony announced a remaster of the seven-year-old game at its 2024 State of Play broadcast alongside a friendly $9.99 upgrade price for those who own it already. The game otherwise costs $49.99, so the price rise is...

Four new additions including Trials of Mana, Legend of Mana, We Love Katamari Reroll + Royal Reverie, and All You Need is Help were announced for Game Pass at the Tokyo Game Show broadcast (and you can read about everything else announced...
A union has called for staff at Ubisoft’s French operation to strike over a return to office order and pay dispute. Le Syndicat des Travailleurs et Travailleuses du Jeu Vidéo (STJV), the French Video Game Workers Union, said Ubisoft management had imposed a return to office order for three days a week for all employees “without any tangible justification or any consultation with the workers' representatives.” “After more than five years of working efficiently in the current remote-work context, many of our colleagues have built or rebuilt their lives (family life, housing, parenthood, etc.) and simply cannot return to the previous working conditions,” the STJV continued. “Our employer knows this perfectly well. The consequence of...
A Cyberpunk 2077 mod turns the game into indie favorite Superhot, where time only moves when the player moves. Nexus Mods user jackexe shared the Cyberpunk Super Hot Mode mod, which adds a new element to the beloved sci-fi first person role-playing game. "When you move, time moves. How fast you move determines how fast time moves," the description reads. "You can use the Cyberpunk engine tweaks to bind the controls to toggle this mode on and off." Longtime fans looking for a new way to play Cyberpunk 2077 — on the one year anniversary of its one and only expansion Phantom Liberty launching — could perhaps find some entertainment here. Toggling in and out of the mode for certain battles seems like it would add some new intensity to...
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has its hotly anticipated September update, which adds some much-needed features to the game. Saber Interactive’s third-person action shooter launched to record-breaking success last month, but it lacked a number of crucial features including ultrawide support on PC and private PvE lobbies in Operations Mode. With patch 3.0, both of those features are now in the game, alongside a Sparring Arena for the Battlebarge and the option to replace custom presets with predefined ones. The new Sparring Arena in the Battle Barge is available while in Operations or Eternal War mode, and is accessible directly from the Launch Bay. Once there, you'll be given your weapons and grenades as if you were in a PvP...

Final Fantasy I – VI Pixel Remaster is finally available on Xbox Series X and S and Windows PC (but not Game Pass). StarCraft: Remastered and StarCraft 2: Campaign Collection hit Game Pass from November 5, Microsoft announced during its Tokyo Game Show 2024 broadcast. Blizzard's sci-fi real-time strategy games are the latest from the company to launch into Game Pass following Microsoft's $69 billion aquisition of Activision Blizzard last year. While the entirety of the original StarCraft and StarCraft 2’s multiplayer components are free-to-play, StarCraft: Remastered and StarCraft 2: Campaign Collection will be available to anyone with a PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate subscription from November 5. 2017's StarCraft: Remastered is a remastered edition of Blizzard's 1998 RTS classic StarCraft and its expansion Brood War. It retains the gameplay...
Konami and Bloober Team will soon release their Silent Hill 2 remake for PlayStation 5 and Steam, but a PC almost didn’t happen at all. News that Konami nearly left PC players behind comes from Bloober CEO Piotr Babieno, who spoke about the sequel remake ahead of its October launch (via Bankier.pl). Although the Silent Hill 2 reimagining is a project that fans have begged for years for, its release was nearly limited to only one platform. The only thing that saved it from sticking exclusively with PlayStation at launch was Bloober itself. “Definitely Silent Hill 2 is a game that has been associated with the PlayStation brand from the very beginning,” the CEO said (as translated by DeepL). “At the very beginning, we had to push...
With Assassin's Creed Shadows getting delayed into 2025, it is now in direct competition with Ghost of Yotei, the Ghost of Tsushima sequel announced during yesterday's Sony State of Play. The move begs comparison between the two, as they're both games set in feudal Japan and feature classical images of ninjas, samurai, and ronin. But despite the similarities, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot says there's room enough for two big open-world action-adventure games set in Japan. "There's a lot of space for very high-quality games, and those two games can sell very well," Guillemot said. On what differentiates the two, Guillemot focused on Assassin's Creed Shadows' dual protagonists, which allows players to take control of either a ninja or a...
In a note to investors on Wednesday, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot acknowledged that the company's "second quarter fell short of expectations" and vowed to launch "a review aimed at further improving our execution." But Guillemot also addressed some of the cultural conversations happening around the company lately, which have intensified around Star Wars Outlaws and the upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows (which was delayed to February 2025 today) in particular. "We remain committed to creating games for fans and players that everyone can enjoy.” "Finally, let me address some of the polarized comments around Ubisoft lately," Guillemot said. "I want to reaffirm that we are an entertainment-first company, creating games for the broadest...
Ubisoft is returning to Day 1 Steam releases starting with the recently-delayed Assassin's Creed Shadows, a move that is seemingly in response to softer-than-expected sales for Star Wars Outlaws. The shift reflects the dominance of Steam as well as some pretty major changes that are happening within Ubisoft. Earlier this week, Steam broke its record for PC players online, hitting 38,366,479 concurrents. The move is seemingly an acknowledgment that any PC game that doesn't launch on Steam is going to leave behind a significant portion of the audience. Ubisoft isn't the only company embracing Steam. Blizzard, which once kept its exclusively on Battle.net, announced that Diablo 4 would be coming to Steam almost exactly one year ago...
Ubisoft has admitted its open world Star Wars Outlaws has underperformed and announced a Steam release date alongside. A financial update from Ubisoft announced a number of significant changes at the company including the delay of premiere title Assassin's Creed Shadows. This came alongside word that Star Wars Outlaws had a "softer than expected launch" and a November 21 release date for Steam. "Despite solid ratings (Metacritic 76) and user scores across the First Party and Epic stores (3.9/5) that reflect an immersive and authentic Star Wars universe, Star Wars Outlaws initial sales proved softer than expected," Ubisoft said. "In response to player feedback, Ubisoft’s development teams are currently fully mobilized to swiftly...
Alientrap Games has announced DuneCrawl, an upcoming open-world online co-op privateering adventure where you and your friends explore the sand seas aboard your Dune Crawler, a huge walking crustacean outfitted with cannons and treasure maps. It's due out in the first half of 2025 on Steam. The developers say, "Travel through sprawling, lush, hand drawn environments to unfold the story surrounding the mystery of the Dune Crawlers. Interact with quest-giving NPCs, defend the local towns from bandits, discover hidden plunder, ride armored scarabs and defend your title as the greatest freebooter this side of the seven sands." Check out the announcement trailer above and the first screenshots in the gallery below. More succinctly, an...
Ubisoft has delayed Assassin's Creed Shadows by three months. The open-world adventure game was due out November 12, 2024. It now launches February 14, 2025. In a statement, Ubisoft said it needs more time "to polish and refine the experience, pushing further some of our key features." Meanwhile, Ubisoft confirmed that Assassin's Creed Shadows will release on Steam, unlike the company's previous major release, Star Wars Outlaws. Preorders will be refunded, and all future preorders will be granted the first expansion for free. Developing... Wesley is the UK News Editor for IGN. Find him on Twitter at @wyp100. Somewhat famously, the fourth game in the Dragon Age series has gone through a lot of changes in the ten years since Dragon Age: Inquisition. What’s now known as Dragon Age: The Veilguard began development in 2015 and in that time, reports emerged of Dragon Age 4 going the live-service route, with a heavy multiplayer component. The eventual confirmation that EA would let BioWare go full single-player with Dragon Age 4, keeping with the series’ history, led to a major sigh of relief from many fans. And when I got my hands on the game last month for our IGN First coverage (read my full preview here), I struggled to catch any whiffs of its multiplayer past in the gameplay, so I can only imagine the overhaul that was done behind the...

The demo is already available on Xbox Series X and comes to PlayStation 5 and PC very soon at 9am Pacific / 12noon Eastern / 5pm UK. It features a sizeable chunk of the incoming fantasy role-playing and progress will carry over to the main game upon its October 11 launch. "In the Prologue Demo, players can experience some of the early game narrative, explore social elements, and discover the city as they get a head start on their adventure ahead of the October 11 launch," Atlus said. The demo includes the first four dungeons; the ability to unlock seven of the more than 40 classes, called Archetypes; an...
Sony's latest PlayStation live stream has come to an end and we've gathered all of the news and trailers from the event today. The September Sony State of Play yesterday focused on updates about upcoming PS5 and PS VR2 games and we got a closer look at how the PlayStation 5 Pro is enhancing games. You can dive into all of the latest PlayStation news and trailers from the show below, and we will continue to cover any new developments about these games on IGN as we learn more. Ghost of Tsushima 2 Announced as Ghost of Yotei Arguably the biggest announcement from the show yesterday was that the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima will be arriving in 2025. The new game will be titled Ghost of Yotei and focus a new protagonist, Atsu. The...
The PlayStation 5 Pro has officially been revealed, and developers will be releasing new-and-improved modes for their games that will take advantage of all that new horsepower. But what will it mean, really? At a recent PlayStation 5 Pro preview event, we spoke with the technical leads of some of PlayStation’s biggest games, including Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, The Last of Us Part 2, and others, to discuss what improvements we can expect to see now that there’s a more powerful PlayStation 5 on the market. There are three key features of the PS5 Pro as explained by lead architect Mark Cerny during the announcement presentation. The upgraded GPU will allow for 45% faster rendering for gameplay, advanced ray tracing will create better...
Capcom has released the Monster Hunter Wilds PC system requirements after revealing the game's release date at the PlayStation Showcase last night. An update to the game's website revealed the specs, confirming both the minimum and recommended requirements. It also revealed Monster Hunter Wilds will require 140GB of SSD storage to run. To run the game at minimum settings, meaning at an upscaled 1080p resolution and 30 frames per second, players will need an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT graphics card. As for the processor, players need an Intel Core i5-10600, Intel Corei3-12100F, or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 alongside 16GB of RAM (6GB of VRAM). Running Monster Hunter Wilds at a full 1080p resolution and 60 frames...
The creator of the high-profile God of War Ragnarok PSN-bypass mod has reportedly pulled it offline without explanation. Just days after the PlayStation game God of War Ragnarok launched on PC to a ‘mixed’ Steam user review rating over its forced PlayStation Network account linking, a mod was released that bypassed the requirement entirely. Sony had made it clear on the God of War Ragnarok Steam page that a PlayStation Network account would be required to play Sony Santa Monica’s purely single-player adventure, but that failed to prevent a number of negative reviews singling out the policy. One modder going by the name iArtorias took matters into their own hands by stripping out the PSN requirement. iArtorias’ NoPSSDK mod, which...
The Legacy of Kain franchise is enjoying a major resurgence in 2024. Fresh off the reveal of Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1-2 Remastered at Sony's latest State of Play, Dark Horse is debuting a pair of killer statues featuring series icons Kain and Raziel. Check out the slideshow gallery below for an exclusive first look at the Legacy of Kain: Kain and Raziel statues: These statues previously appeared in prototype form at SDCC 2024 (where they inadvertently leaked the existence of Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1-2 Remastered), but now they're available to preorder exclusively on the Dark Horse Direct website. The two polyresin statues will be sold separately but are designed to be displayed as a diorama, depicting a major battle between...
One of the most impressive mechanics in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is its Tyranid swarm technology. Built upon the tech used to power swarming zombies in developer Saber Interactive’s World War Z, it sees hundreds of the terrifying xenos swarm not only in the distance but close to you and your squad mates. It’s an incredible sight to behold: the Tyranid swarm crashing over the landscape in the distance and, closer to the player, clumping together to climb walls or emerge from higher-up platforms before assaulting the Space Marine squad’s position. It adds a sense of scale and impending doom to Space Marine 2, and makes some of the game’s set pieces truly memorable. What’s more, you can actually shoot individual Tyranid units as...
Palworld’s long-awaited PlayStation 5 release shadow-dropped yesterday, September 24 after an announcement during Sony’s State of Play broadcast, but while gamers in 68 countries worldwide were downloading the survival and crafting game dubbed 'Pokémon with guns' on PlayStation, Japanese gamers were blocked from doing so. The official Japanese Palworld account tweeted that the game’s PS5 release in Japan “has not yet been decided” but failed to explain why. "We apologize to everyone in Japan who was looking forward to it, but all of our staff will do our best to deliver it to PS5 users as soon as possible, so we hope you will wait for a little longer," read the statement. "We look forward to your continued support of Palworld." It...
Konami has released a chunky PC patch for the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 which brings it to version 2.0.0. The Metal Gear Solid website said the patch is currently only available on PC via Steam but coming to other platforms at a later date. It coincides with the release of Steam Trading Card and Badges support, though this isn’t unlocked via the patch itself. Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty is perhaps getting the most changes. These include expanded screen settings to include resolution options, the ability to switch cutscenes between their original version and a high resolution version, and additional control settings. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is also getting the expanded screen settings and controller...
Mortal Kombat 1 developer NetherRealm decided on its next game three years ago, Ed Boon has confirmed. In a tweet, Boon said NetherRealm planned to support Mortal Kombat 1 “for a long time to come,” after an interview with ComicBook quoted the developer as saying “NetherRealm's next game has been in development for three years.” “Love the fact that there is excitement for our next game,” Boon later clarified. “And I don’t want to be a stickler for words... “But we haven’t been working on our next game for three years already. The actual quote was that we knew what our next game was going to be three years ago. “NetherRealm is still fully committed to supporting Mortal Kombat 1 for a long time to come.” Boon’s comments come as...
