Ubisoft+ Multi-Access and PC Access Become Ubisoft+ Premium, Cheaper Tier Ubisoft+ Classics Available

Ubisoft has shaken up its subscription service, releasing a premium offering and adding a back-catalog focused option.

Designed to coincide with the release of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown on Ubisoft+, Ubisoft+ Multi-Access and PC Access have become Ubisoft+ Premium, which costs $17.99 a month.

This subscription is designed to offer day-one new releases and early access where applicable, as well as premium editions and monthly rewards. The day-one release of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, for example, is a part of Ubisoft+ Premium.

Alongside this change, Ubisoft has released Ubisoft+ Classics on PC, which is described as “a curated selection of popular back-catalog and live games.” Ubisoft+ Classics include Far Cry 6, Rainbow Six Siege, and Watch Dogs: Legion. The catalog will grow over time, Ubisoft said, and is included for PlayStation+ Extra and PlayStation+ Premium Members. Standalone, Ubisoft+ Classics is available on PC via the Ubisoft Store for $7.99 per month. Existing PC subscribers keep their plan as is, with the same monthly price point they have now.

As per Ubisoft’s agreement to take on Activision's cloud gaming rights from Microsoft as part of the Xbox maker’s $69 billion acquisition of the maker of Call of Duty, eventually the Activision Blizzard catalog will be made available, too.

In a blog post, Ubisoft’s Director of Subscription, Philippe Tremblay, said Ubisoft+ was “above projection in terms of subscribers joining the program”, with Assassin's Creed and Rainbow Six the most popular games.

Explaining the decision to release the Ubisoft+ Classics subscription, Tremblay said: “We think it's a strong offer at the price point, and the catalog will only grow as we keep adding games to it as time goes on, so players can discover even more of our worlds.”
