TnT grief could always be moderated or regenerated and players could be warned/punished for excessive use.

Include TNT in the lava griefing rule, problem solved. More people join server because practically nobody else lets it be used(and yes, I said practically, those in my clan)

I think TNT and 'Raid days' are the two things Admins won't budge easily over as both were unintentionally tested at some point and both ended quite badly.

Really maybe once we get everything perfected on the server and I mean everything we can experiment with TnT. I mean come on it will be a huge challenge to make TnT benefit everyone so we should let the staff keep our nearly perfect server perfect until they have the time to mess around with TnT and other suggestions.
