While Street Fighter 6 is a hit with fans of Capcom’s famous fighting game series, its monetisation has caused an uproar. The latest offender is the hotly anticipated Outfit 3 release, which gives each of the 18 launch characters an eye-catching new costume to wear.
Each Outfit 3 is available for 300 Fighter Coins (Street Fighter 6’s premium currency) and includes all 10 available colours. Unlike Outfit 2, Outfit 3 is only available for purchase with real-world money and cannot be unlocked via World Tour mode.
The problem here is that Capcom only sells Fighter Coins in bundles of 250 for £3.99 / $4.99, 610 for £9.49 / $11.99, 1,250 for £18.99 / $23.99, and 2,750 for £39.99 / $49.99. This means there’s no way to buy 300 Fighter Coins, or spend around $6, on one Outfit 3. You have to spend around $10 or more, depending on the bundle you go for.
Perhaps worse, Capcom is not selling an Outfit 3 bundle that includes some or all the costumes at a discounted price. That means if you want to buy all Outfit 3 costumes for all 18 launch characters, you’ll need 5,400 Fighter Coins, which will set you back an eye-watering £80 / $100 (2,750 Fighter Coins x 2). That’s much more expensive than Street Fighter 6 itself.
As you’d expect, the Street Fighter community is in uproar over the cost of these outfits. One thread on the Street Fighter subreddit, titled, “Do not buy the costumes,” calls for a boycott. “Capcom can't be allowed to have that slide and get the win,” redditor Soul699 said. “Because otherwise it will get worse in the future.
“Sure, Mortal Kombat is doing worse, but that doesn't change it's still bad. I know a lot of people won't care, and will keep feeding the corporations because they just gave up and submitted, but if you want to do something smart, do not buy the costumes. I know they're mostly great looking, but resist. Do not let Capcom get away so easily.”
Another thread called the monetisation “insane for a $60 game”. “Yep, it’s sucks that they did the ‘outfit costs 300 but there is no 300 coin option’,” redditor Vahallen added. “It’s not a new practice, but it does suck.”
It was a similar sentiment on social media. Here's a snippet:
Capcom has form when it comes to aggressive monetisation, of course. In August, it came under fire for the high cost of Street Fighter 6’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles DLC, which, yes, suffered the same issue where it’s impossible to spend the exact amount for a single costume. It doesn't look like the backlash it suffered at the time put Capcom off giving the same practice another shot.
IGN's Street Fighter 6 review returned a 9/10. We said: "Street Fighter 6 is the most feature-rich a Street Fighter has ever been at launch, but even beyond that, it's roster of 18 characters is excellent, the new mechanics revitalize the one-on-one fighting formula, and it absolutely nails all of the little things that make for a stellar fighting game." Street Fighter 6 has gone on to sell over two million copies since its launch in June.

So, these costumes are 300 FIGHTER COINS each, but the smallest amount you can buy is 250 for £3.99, so you have to spend minimum £9.49 to buy 610 coins.
To buy them all, you'll need 5400 coins, which means you'd need 2 x 2750 coin batches for a total of EIGHTY QUID.

All the good will SF6 built just to slap the players and fans with a 108 dollar price for all the character costume 3 outfits with no bundle to be cheaper.
