Most probably, that's a fair point. I was weighing up both options earlier but it turns out a cheater has deleted a bunch of bases, now it's probably for the best that I wipe it when whitelisting.

I guess you could run around naked until then though 😛

That's just something that happens with the game sometimes, restarting your game normally fixes that.
