Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth's Hawaii Map Is 3 Times the Size of Yakuza's Isezaki Ijincho

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth's Hawaii will be the biggest Yakuza map to date, coming in at three times the size of Yakuza: Like a Dragon's Isezaki Ijincho and nine times the size of series mainstay Kamurocho.

A post on X/Twitter from developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio revealed the new map, which will take the series outside of Japan for the first time, will dwarf Isezaki Ijincho, which was already considered huge compared to past Yakuza locations.

The post also showed off the different districts available in the Hawaii map, officially called Honolulu City, such as Aloha Beach, the Anaconda Shopping Centre, and Chinatown. Because this is a Yakuza game, Infinite Wealth will of course also feature an area called District 5 which is home to the local mafia.

This isn't the first indication Infinite Wealth will be a colossal entry. Not only is it another role-playing game with turn based combat, but RGG studio head Masayoshi Yokoyama called it a "monster class" entry that will be the longest Yakuza game to date.

Essentially Yakuza 8, Infinite Wealth will continue the events of Yakuza: Like a Dragon (Yakuza 7) and spin-off Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. The series two main characters, Kiryu Kazuma and Ichiban Kasuga, will feature as dual protagonists of Infinite Wealth when it launches January 26.

In our preview of the game, IGN said: "[Our] time with Infinite Wealth was about as brief as Ichiban’s board shorts, but it left [us] to ponder the infinite possibilities for fun that might be hidden around its sizeable Hawaiian island expanse."
