ID@Xbox Showcase April 2023: Everything Announced and Revealed

The latest ID@Xbox Showcase has arrived and it featured a look at a wide-range of upcoming games that will be released soon on Xbox and PC. From a deep dive into Vampire Survivors' second expansion to an extended look at the gameplay of The Last Case of Benedict Fox to a game that looks like Pokemon but with cassette tapes, there is a lot to be excited about.


There were 11 games featured in the show, and we've included a breakdown of each one alongside their trailers below to ensure you don't miss a thing.

Vampire Survivors: Tides of Foscari Expansion Gets a Gameplay Deep Dive and an Interview



Vampire Survivors' Tides of Foscari expansion will be released on April 13, and the ID@Xbox crew sat down with poncle senior marketing manager Geo Morgan to discuss what fans can expect from the new content while also showing off gameplay.

For those unaware, Tides of Foscari is set in western Europe in a Great Forest and will add eight new characters, 13 new weapons, a new stage, seven music tracks, and 20 new achievements to the game. Oh, and it only costs $1.99.

One of the new characters, the rogue, was featured in the gameplay and we got to see a run in action before its official launch.

The Last Case of Benedict Fox Gets and Extended Gameplay Trailer Focused on Combat



The Last Case of Benedict Fox is a metroidvania from Plot Twist and Rogue Games that takes place in Boston in 1925 and has players exploring a terrifying mansion that is filled with monsters.

While the wait for The Last Case of Benedict Fox isn't too bad anymore as it will be released on April 27, the ID@Xbox Showcase gave fans an extended look at gameplay and combat.

Cassette Beasts Is a 'Turn-Based RPG with an 80's Vibe' and a Bit of Pokemon



Cassette Beasts looks to take inspiration from Pokemon, but instead of catching monsters with Poke Balls, you do it with a cassette player. Yes, you can record and capture new monster forms, put in a monster tape to send one of your monsters into battle, and even combine them to create and ever more powerful monster.

Cassette Beasts, which also describes itself as a "turn-based RPG with an 80's Vibe," will be released on PC and PC Game Pass on April 26, 2023. It will then arrive on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Xbox Game Pass in Late Spring 2023.

Omega Strikers Looks Like a Joyous Mash-Up of Soccer and Air Hockey



Xbox fans were treated to another look at Omega Strikers, a free-to-play online multiplayer game that looks to be a joyous mash-up of soccer and air hockey. Omega Strikers will be released on April 27, 2023, and will come complete with 3v3 matches and the ability to "sling slime, toss tofu, and rocket boost."

The Karters 2: Turbocharged Gameplay Trailer Showcases Wild and Chaotic Races



The Karters 2: Turbocharged, which is inspired by such games as Crash Team Racing and Mario Kart 8, got a new gameplay trailer at the latest ID@Xbox Showcase, and it gave fans a new look a the wild and chaotic races racing fans will soon be able to undertake.

When it is released on Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One in 2023, it will arrive with online cross-play, ranked matchmaking, over 12 game modes, custom tracks, 6-player split screen, online tournaments, Team vs. Team and Cups, and more.

Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly Tasks You With Making the Perfect Drink and Helping Others in the Process



Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterful is the sequel to 2020's Coffee Talk and once again will put players in the shoes of a barista at a coffee shop who spends her time making delicious drinks for fantasy-based customers and helping them work through their problems. Some of these customers include Baileys, the elf freelance graphic designer, Lua, the succubus bisdev executive, Myrtle the orc game developer, and more."

Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly will be released on April 20, 2023, and will be on Xbox Game Pass on day 1.

Homestead Arcana Is a Farming Witch Simulator That Has You Healing The World



Homestead Arcana is a new game from Skybound Games and is described as a farming witch simulator that features "magic, exploration, crafting, and more." You play as a young with farmer named Billie and, alongside your cat familiar Huckleberry, you must restore the world and somehow push back an evil force known as the Miasma.

Homestead Arcana will be released on April 21, 2023, on PC and Xbox Series X. It will also be on Game Pass on day 1.

Closer the Distance Explores How a Community Deals and Moves On After Tragedy



Closer the Distance tells the story of Angela, a young girl from a town called Yesterby who died in a car accident. Players become her after she passes and, "using her ethereal ability to influence the townspeople she once knew, Angela's choices will ultimately determine the fate of Yesterby."

Closer the Distance is all about helping your loved ones move on and exploring what tragedy does to a community, and it will be released "soon" on Xbox and PC.

The Explorator Is a 'Semi-Open Fantasy FPS' With a Striking Art Style



The Explorator looks peaceful enough when the trailer starts, and it welcomes players int oa beautiful stylized world, but then chaos ensues when cartoony creatures that clash with everything else in a great way start attacking. It looks very unique and will task players with finding Atlantis and stopping this threat that seems to have been caused by explorers who came before you.

The Explorator will be released soon on Xbox and PC.

Lil Guardsman Will Have You Deciding the Fate of Over 100 Characters Trying to Enter a Kingdom



Lil Guardsman puts you in the shoes of a 12-year-old who must step up and take on their Dad's job of working at a guard shack in a kingdom that decides who gets to pass through, who goes to jail, and who gets killed on the spot. There are over 100 characters who will try to enter the gates, and its up to you to decide their fate. Oh, and you can rewind time to fix things if they go awry, but be careful not to do any "irreversible damage."

Lil Guardsman will be released in 2023.

Kabaret Is a Dark Fantasy Folklore Adventure Game With Monsters from Southeast Asian Myths



Kabaret, which is out now, is a dark fantasy folklore adventure game that features monsters from Southeast Asian myths. In Kabaret, players are cursed and find themselves in a realm called "Alam Bunian." After you are helped by someone named the Caretaker, you must use tea ceremonies and talk to the townsfolk to learn how you can can get home and break the curse.
