The Dell Intel Gamer Days Sale is now live, and that means some welcome discounts on Alienware gaming PCs. The biggest price drops I've seen so far are on a couple of Alienware 16X Aurora gaming laptops. Both are newer 2026 editions, with the RTX 5060 model starting at $1,529.99 and the RTX 5070 Ti model starting at $2,699.99. The 16X Aurora is Alienware's best selling premium laptop; it features a sleek aluminum body, high quality OLED display, the newest Intel Core Ultra processor, and Nvidia GeForce RTX 5000 series discrete graphics. It also comes with two free games.

The Intel Gamer Days Sale, an annual event hosted by Intel, starts now and runs through September 13. The most notable deal during this event is the two free upcoming AAA games that come with an eligible gaming PC or laptop purchase - Star Wars: Galactic Racer, out on October 6, and Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, out on February 12 next year. You'll receive instructions to claim a download voucher that can be redeemed once these games launch.
The 16X Aurora is the best Alienware laptop for most gamers
Alienware has two mainstream laptop models - the 16X and 16 Aurora. Of the two, the 16X Aurora is the model I would recommend for most gamers. It has a higher price tag but the upgrades more than make up for the relatively small price premium. Here's a list of all of the improvements:
- Better display (2560x1600 240Hz G-Sync OLED vs 2560x1600 120Hz)
- More powerful CPU (Intel Core Ultra HX Plus series vs Intel Core H-series)
- Higher GPU TGP rating and thus better performance
- More premium materials (metal alloy lid and chassis vs lid only)
- RGB keyboard vs white-only backlighting
- Thunderbolt 4.0 port
The new 2026 edition has some very welcome upgrades like an OLED display and Intel's latest Core Ultra HX Plus series processors. Compared to other Alienware laptops, the 16X Aurora is designed to look less like a gamer's laptop. It boasts a sleek, understated design with the absence of extraneous visual-only embellishments or unnecessary RGB lighting outside of the keyboard illumination. This is a solidly built machine with a metal (magnesium alloy) chassis and anodized aluminum lid and bottom shell. The keyboard deck is made out of a sturdy composite plastic so that your hands don't get too hot or sweaty. Under the hood, the 16X Aurora packs a punch with powerful components and Cryo Chamber cooling.
The GeForce RTX 5060 is a perfectly capable mobile GPU, but you'll want to upgrade to the RTX 5070 Ti if you plan on playing the most demanding PC games
The RTX 5060 (mobile) offers solid performance at a reasonable price. It should run most games at 60fps even with the Alienware's upgraded 1600p resolution, especially if the game supports DLSS 4.5. The Alienware 16X Aurora does not throttle its GPU, meaning you'll get the maximum power delivered to it (in this case, 115W TDP).
If you plan on playing more demanding games like Crimson Desert, Forza Horizon 6, or Cyberpunk 2077, then you should consider stepping up to the RTX 5070 Ti mobile GPU. It performs significantly better than the RTX 5060 mobile and has 50% more VRAM. The RTX 5070 Ti is also the most powerful GPU that can be equipped in the 16X Aurora; to step up to an RTX 5080 or 5090, you would have to move to an Area-51 gaming laptop, which is bulkier, heavier, and more expensive.
