I’ve gone hands-on with Nioh 3 on three separate occasions at this point: The first was with the limited-time demo which was all about me just getting my bearings back and remembering how to play Nioh after five or so years away. The second was a preview event that was part of our IGN First coverage, where I was able to dig deeper into the new Ninja Mode and talk about some of the evolutions made in the Nioh formula. For this third, and presumably final time ahead of release, I told myself, “I’m just gonna have fun with it.” And so, when my time began, I adjusted my build to my liking, asked the Team Ninja Community Lead – who appropriately goes by “Master,” – to teach me all of the sick tech that he knew, and I was off to the races to...
Everyone's playing shooters these days, at least according to some new data from Newzoo shared with IGN. Newzoo, whose revenue estimates cover digital full-game purchases, including but not limited to DLC, subscriptions, and microtransactions, has revealed the top 20 PC and console games for the month of October, both by revenue and MAUs (monthly active users), combined across the U.S., UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain. And boy, there are a lot of shooters on that list! Battlefield 6, in its debut month, is at the top of the revenue charts and the third in monthly active users. While Battlefield's dominance has been well documented already, it's nonetheless an impressive feat given that Battlefield was only out for one week in...
Ubisoft's highly-anticipated Assassin's Creed: Black Flag remake will launch in just a few months' time, a fresh report has claimed. This morning, Ubisoft revealed its latest financial results and laid out a slate of upcoming games set to arrive before the end of its current financial year, on March 31, 2026. One title due for launch remained "unannounced" in Ubisoft's official presentation, but a new Insider Gaming report has now stated that this not-so-mysterious project is the new version of Black Flag, which is scheduled to arrive during the week of March 23, 2026. Despite years of internal leaks, fan speculation and even hints from the game's lead actor, Ubisoft is still to officially confirm its Black Flag remake exists. But...
Ubisoft has celebrated a fresh set of financial results that it says has been driven by a "strong performance" for its Assassin's Creed franchise. But while there's an update on sales figures for 2023's Mirage, there's no new figure for how this year's Shadows has sold. The French publisher's latest earnings report, published this morning, covers the company's performance over the first half of the current year: April through September. Last week, Ubisoft delayed the publication of these results at the last minute, prompting speculation that something had gone wrong with the company's big Tencent deal — though there's no suggestion of that today. Ubisoft has framed the results in a positive light, with net bookings for the past...
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are reportedly in for some shell shock of their own, with Paramount planning a live-action movie reboot series inspired by the Sonic film franchise. Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that Paramount has ditched the R-rated The Last Ronin, a live-action / animation hybrid (although it could return to it one day), and will now instead focus on a live-action movie. The sequel to Mutant Mayhem is still due out September 17, 2027. First released back in 2020, The Last Ronin features a dystopian world in which all but one of the Turtles have perished, drawing inspiration from God of War among other works. It written by original creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, who said it was based on an outline from...
When I played Escape From Tarkov for the first time in 2018, I remember being captivated by its obtuse, insanely challenging structure. Like PUBG was to the battle royale genre, this promising prototype of an extraction shooter had so many unique elements going for it that made me absolutely certain it would be the next big thing, even if it was sometimes completely broken in its Early Access state. All these years later, now finally hitting 1.0, it’s pretty shocking how much has changed while it also remains exactly as exasperating as I remember it. The hands-off approach to onboarding that forces newcomers to beat their heads against its unforgiving mechanics for dozens of hours before claiming even a single victory captures the same...
Developer Poncle says its newly announced Vampire Crawlers is more of a spinoff than a sequel, but it sounds like Vampire Survivors 2 may actually be in the works, too. Fans had their eyebrows raised when the studio behind the hit monster-slaying video game announced Vampire Crawlers as its new game during today’s Xbox Partner Preview. While the roguelike deck-builder might seem like a proper Vampire Survivors sequel at first glance, Poncle says in a new interview with Xbox Wire, this isn’t the case. “This is just a spin-off of Vampire Survivors – hopefully the first in a series of spin-offs!” studio founder and CEO Luca Galante said. “The idea is to take some of the core pillars behind the development of VS and to apply them to...
Godfall developer Counterplay Games reportedly shut down earlier this year, so seeing it suddenly reappear with Armatus, a full-blown roguelite shooter coming to PC and consoles in 2026, might be somewhat of a shock. A trailer, including everything from far-along cinematics and tense gameplay, materialized during today’s November 2025 Xbox Partner Preview. It’s undeniably got that Godfall flair to it, as its main character can be seen smashing and blasting their way through a post-post-apocalyptic Paris. It’s not often a game developer seemingly closes down only to reemerge months later with a brand-new video game for PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S. We sat down with Counterplay studio head and creative...
Publisher Lyrical Games and developer Plot Twist have revealed Erosion, a twin-stick roguelike set in a post-apocalyptic wild west that is set to launch into early access early next year. The Xbox Partner Preview trailer for the next title from the Kraków, Poland-based studio teases a change of pace for The Last Case of Benedict Fox team as it targets a spring 2026 early access release for PC via Steam and Xbox Game Preview. A full launch is expected to follow later the same year for PC platforms, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S. Where Plot Twist’s previous title leaned on 2D visuals and a Lovecraftian tale, Erosion seeks to let players loose in a mad open world with fast-paced combat and lots of character. The trailer promises...
Indie developer Cococucumber is, for the first time ever, trying its hand at a sequel with Echo Generation 2. Where the first turn-based romp channeled ‘80s and ‘90s vibes to create a nostalgic adventure that looked like Stranger Things was tossed into a blender with voxel graphics and classic RPG gameplay, the sequel is going a totally new direction. The sideways prequel skips the cozy small-town feel to drop players straight into a B-movie, cosmic horror story where they play as the missing father from the first game. Its first trailer, which debuted as part of today’s November 2025 Xbox Partner Preview, teases a much more horrific experience for Cococucumber. We sat down with game director Martin Gavreau and studio producer and...
Tonight's Xbox Partner Preview showcase has now concluded, and we've got a fresh list of new day one Xbox Game Pass launches to look forward to. Alongside all the announcements and new trailers today, five more titles were confirmed to arrive day and date into Microsoft's gaming subscription service — including a couple of games available to play today! Head below for the full rundown of everything announced as coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one. Armatus A third-person roguelite shooter from Godfall developer Counterplay Games, today's first-look trailer showed a world-ending event that leaves you as a masked warrior, trying to claim back the streets of Paris from demons. Armatus is set to arrive for cloud, PC and Xbox Series X/S...
Developer Panik Arcade has announced its popular rogue-lite slot machine horror game, CloverPit, is getting an Xbox Series X | S version, and it’s out today. It’s a surprise console launch that was revealed during the Xbox Partner Preview just moments ago. A trailer for the CloverPit port catches newcomers up to speed just after Panik Arcade announced it had managed to sell 1 million copies after a month and a half on Steam. “CloverPit is the demonic lovechild of Balatro and Buckshot Roulette, a rogue-lite that traps players in a hell of their own creation,” an official CloverPit summary says. Locked in a rusty cell with a slot machine and an ATM, you must pay off your debt at the end of each round, or fall to ruin – literally!” As...
Bloodborne and Hollow Knight-inspired Metroidvania Crowsworn is back with a new gameplay trailer confirming plans to (eventually) launch for PC and consoles. A long-awaited new, public look at developer Mongoose Rodeo’s highly anticipated, hand-drawn action game arrived as part of today’s Xbox Partner Preview showcase. While an updated glimpse at Crowsworn’s dark fantasy universe and cute-but-intimidating characters is welcome, the real news is that Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S have officially joined PC in its list of platforms. You can tell exactly which games inspired Mongoose Rodeo with just one look at Crowsworn, but the Kickstarter project says its blend of ideas results in something unique. More than...
The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu materialized at the Xbox Partner Preview to deliver the news that it’s coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S summer 2026. It’s a narrowing of the previously promised release window, which had publisher Nacon and developer ACE Team prepped to deliver its four-player horror co-op vision at some point next year. As its gameplay trailer demonstrates, players will need to work together if they want to survive the Lovecraftian nightmares that lie waiting in The Mound. Nacon and ACE announced The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu during the March Nacon Connect, revealing the project as a first-person experience set in a jungle with the capacity to twist the minds of any who enters. Players are given weapons and...
Publisher Oro Interactive and developer Cybernetic Walrus will let groups of four go undercover as gas station aliens when Roadside Research launches for PC and Xbox Series X | S early next year. An update for the comedic co-op game arrived in the form of a new trailer shown during today’s Xbox Partner Preview. It comes with the news that Xbox and Game Pass have joined the launch lineup, which should see Roadside Research arriving for PC via Steam, Xbox Series X | S, and Xbox for PC and Cloud Q1 2026. If you’re watching the trailer wondering, “Are those aliens really working at a gas station?” the answer is no – or at least that’s what they want you to think. Roadside Research sets four players up as a group of undercover...
Publisher Apogee Entertainment and developer Trigger Happy Interactive made an appearance at the Xbox Partner Preview to announce their first-person psychological horror game, Total Chaos, doesn’t just have a release date – it’s actually out today. The surprise launch arrives after the Turbo Overkill developer bumped its previous July release date for a broader Q4 2025 plan a few months back. It was a last-minute delay that saw fans left in the dark as the wait for Sam Prebble’s survival horror experience grew, and now, as revealed in its new trailer, that wait is over. Trigger Happy describes Total Chaos as a descent into madness that takes place in the darkest corners of Fort Oasis. Its status as a full-fledged experience that...
Hitman World of Assassination has seen Agent 47 face a rogue’s gallery of guest stars, but he may only have one shot to take out a notorious hip hop alter ego in the next elusive target mission, Eminem vs. Slim Shady. That’s right: Marshall Mathers himself is the star of the next add-on mission for IO Interactive’s long-running sandbox stealth series. An Xbox Partner Preview trailer for the music-themed collaboration teases an especially creative mission for players to look forward to as Eminem asks Agent 47 to take care of his chaotic evil twin after he becomes a walking, talking bad guy. Hitman World of Assassination will soon see players work with Eminem to organize the death of Slim Shady, but IOI is no stranger when it comes to...
TiGames is keeping up its animal antics with the latest gameplay trailer for Zoopunk, a third-person action game coming to PC and consoles in 2027. If the anthropomorphic characters featured in the new Xbox Partner Showcase trailer seem at all familiar, that’s because it’s being made by the same team behind F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch. Zoopunk will take things in a slightly different direction, though, with its footage showcasing a healthy dose of gameplay footage featuring a character who’s in search of a mysterious object known as Spark. Zoopunk brings its sci-fi animal combat to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S in 2027. Michael Cripe is a freelance writer with IGN. He's best known for his work at sites like The...
Tides of Annihilation showed up for today’s Xbox Partner Preview to give fans a lengthy boss fight to chew on while they wait for a release date. Developer Eclipse Glow Games’ presence at the Microsoft presentation brought one of the longer segments of the show, giving fans an uninterrupted look at just one of its boss battles. It’s footage that focused on a mix of cinematic highlights and action-packed gameplay, with the goal being to show players just how Gwendolyn will be able to topple some of the tougher enemies thrown her way. Tides of Annihilation was announced at a February PlayStation State of Play presentation as a single-player action game set in a magical version of London. Aside from its visuals and snappy action, it’s...
Today's Xbox Partner Presents concluded with a seriously epic cinematic trailer for a new game that caught me totally off guard. It's called Raji: Kaliyuga, and it's a sequel to Raji: An Ancient Epic. If you're not familiar with the first Raji, it's a 2020 action-adventure game made by India-based Nodding Heads Games. It follows Raji, an orphan on a quest to retrieve her brother, who's been kidnapped by a demon army. As she goes, she's watched and at times supported by the goddess Durga and Lord Vishnu. The story delves deep into Indian and Hindu mythologies, and ends on one heck of a cliffhanger, implying that a sequel was always on the mind. The game received mixed reviews, but was nominated for best debut game at The Game Awards...
James Bond is known for his slick gadgets and driving skills, and today’s Xbox Partner Preview trailer shows how 007 First Light will let players use both to get the job done. The latest video from IO Interactive arrives courtesy of Microsoft and puts a spotlight on something many long-time Bond fans have been curious about: the cars. We’ve seen this new video game version of the iconic British secret agent, played by Dexter: Original Sin star Patrick Gibson, racing through missions before, with today’s footage confirming that at least one vehicle at his disposal will be an Aston Martin. The Aston Martin Valhalla takes center stage in the 007 First Light Xbox Partner Preview trailer, and as some have already guessed, it’s not just any...
Reanimal, the upcoming co-op horror game from the creators of Little Nightmares, now has a release date announced at the Xbox Partner Presents. It's coming out on February 13, 2026 for Xbox, PC, PS5, and Nintendo Switch 2. We got a look at a new trailer today during the presentation, which showed off the pair of siblings you play as traveling through some new locations. We also learned that there's a free demo available now on Xbox - a demo has been out on Steam since October. Reanimal is incredibly unsettling, as is fitting for the Little Nightmares folks. First announced at Gamescom 2024, you play as a brother and sister trying to rescue their missing friends. You'll solve environmental puzzles and travel both by land and boat on...
Vampire Survivors is getting a spin-off. It's called Vampire Crawlers, and it's a first-person, roguelike, deck builder dungeon crawler that has all the addictive sound effects and visuals of Vampire Survivors. In an Xbox Wire post following the announcement, developer poncle offered more information about what to expect. Vampire Crawlers takes place in the same world as Vampire Survivors with the same characters, items, and apparently even in-jokes. However, it's a completely new genre and perspective. You'll pick a crawler - a returning Vampire Survivors character - and with them explore dungeons, build your deck of attacks and utilities, and battle enemies using your cards. There's even a card customization mechanic that wil lchange...
Announced during today's Xbox Partner Showcase, Dave the Diver has plunged onto Xbox consoles at last. Per the trailer, the Xbox version of the game is out now. Dave the Diver was originally only available on PC at its 2023 launch, followed by a Nintendo Switch version in 2024 and PlayStation releases in 2024. A Nintendo Switch 2 dedicated version just released earlier this month. Dave the Diver follows Dave, who by day dives into the Blue Hole to catch fish with his harpoon gun in a survival adventure setting, and by night runs a sushi restaurant where he serves up his catching to hungry diners in a management sim. The game received wide acclaim at launch: we gave it a 9/10, saying it's "wholesome, wonderfully complex, and...
Today's Xbox Partner Showcase opened with a brand new game reveal I certainly didn't see coming: it's called Armatus, and it's seemingly being made by the developers of Godfall. Armatus is a new third-person roguelite shooter set in a fictionalized version of Paris that's looking...pretty messed up. An event called The Vanishing has effectively caused the end of the world, and you're some sort of masked warrior roaming around and fighting demons. That's really all we know for now: the trailer gave us a look at a lot of combat and some pretty cool monster designs. In an Xbox Wire post, we learned a little more: after the end of the world, four members of something called the Armatus meet and summon the player to fight on their behalf...

Among them is Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, which is currently $20 off at the retailer. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Down to $49.99 at Best Buy Our 8/10...
Gearbox has released a significant patch for Borderlands 4 that makes some quality-of-life improvements such as smarter loot drops and a new Legendary Loot Indicator for your radar. These arrive alongside visual polish and stability updates for a “smoother” experience on Kairos, Gearbox said. Digging into the detail, Class Mods have been adjusted to drop more for your current character, which is a welcome change for those on the hunt for ever-improving builds. The loot feed is now updated to display total current currency after spending or receiving money, and the likelihood of unintended movements or knockbacks while reviving a teammate is reduced. And it's worth noting that the patch adds a new Legendary Loot Indicator to the combat...
Microsoft will soon dive into the November 2025 Xbox Partner Preview as Xbox Series X | S closes out the year with a brand-new showcase. As promised earlier this week, today’s third-party-focused presentation will soon unveil a slew of announcements for some of Microsoft’s gaming partners. Fans have been told to expect showings for 007 First Light, Tides of Annihilation, and Reanimal, with the rest of the show’s contents keeping fans guessing. Today’s Xbox Partner Preview has a lot to live up to after the last equivalent showcase, which arrived October 2024 and featured highlights like Phasmophobia, Animal Well, and Alan Wake 2. We’ll know more when the show begins at 10am PT / 1pm ET, so be sure to keep checking in with this story...
It's happening — the brilliant Silent Hill 2 Remake is finally arriving on Xbox Series X/S, and it's being released with a hefty 50% launch discount. Fans have spotted that the game is already available to purchase via the Xbox Store in Australia, where it's already Friday, November 21. Store pages for the game in other regions are also available, though the game cannot yet be purchased elsewhere. When it does become available — likely when midnight passes tonight — the game looks to have launched at half price. The Australian version has a recommended retail price of AU $99, currently reduced to AU $50, which is something at least after the long wait. As of yet, publisher Konami is yet to make the launch official, though we are...
The time has come: Best Buy has kicked off its Black Friday sale, and it's full of excellent deals to look through. This is especially true on the video game front, where we've spotted quite a few exciting deals already. One that's jumped out to us is Silent Hill f, which has received a $20 discount that's dropped its price from $69.99 to $49.99. This applies to both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game (see the deal here at Best Buy), so no matter the platform you play on, you can still save if it's been on your radar. Silent Hill f Drops to $49.99 for Black Friday For Silent Hill fans, or even those who are interested in the games but haven't jumped into one yet, we found in our review that Silent Hill f "serves...
