Far Cry 4 creative director Alex Hutchinson has spoken out after comments from Fargo and Alien: Earth creator Noah Hawley drew ire from video game fans online.
Hawley, who is currently preparing to launch a new Far Cry TV series, sparked controversy when discussing why his series would not adapt any of Ubisoft's popular open world games.
"I'm not specifically adapting any of the games that they've put out," Hawley told Deadline. "I'm saying much as I did with the Coens or X-Men or Alien, 'Let me have a dialog with this franchise, because this is what I think a Far Cry story is.'

Soulslike action RPG Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is also among the three new titles offered for subscribers, as is indie Metroidvania Nine Sols. All three will become available to download next week, on Tuesday, May 5.

Italian game company Digital Bros. has bought the Wuchang: Fallen Feathers intellectual property rights.
The parent company of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers' publisher 505 Games, Digital Bros. purchased the IP rights from developer Chengdu Lingze Technology Co. Ltd for around $4.6 million. This secures "full ownership" of the soulslike action RPG and all future royalties.
IP rights allow a person or company to patent, trademark, or copyright protect something they've created, even if it's an intangible asset, like the story or a particular mechanic in a video game. From there, they can release media like books, games, TV shows, and so on, safe in the knowledge that others cannot copy or recycle them without permission.

As has been the trend for recent games like Crimson Desert, Rebel Wolves released its PC requirements with a chart, detailing the kind of hardware necessary to run the game at different resolutions, quality presets, and the target frame rate for each. These range from the minimum settings to running at 4K with the Ultra preset.

Today a new romance game was announced, Silent Whispers, and fans of the ruling otome title Love and Deepspace quickly noticed a few similarities between the two. Namely, the white-haired, sharp-cheekboned Alarik, one of the three romantic leads in Silent Whispers.

From almost the start of The Blood of Dawnwalker’s promotional campaign, Rebel Wolves has been upfront about the fact it considers the RPG the start of a saga. The Blood of Dawnwalker has finally set its release date: September 3, 2026. That’s across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S.
The single-player, open world vampire role-playing game is from Rebel Wolves, which was founded by former developers of The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk at CD Projekt. Rebel Wolves describes The Blood of Dawnwalker as “the first chapter” in a “brand new role-playing saga.” It's set in 14th-century Europe, with a dark fantasy tone.
The early September release date is comfortably ahead of GTA 6’s November launch, so it should have plenty of headroom to make an impression.

Capcom cut a whole chapter from Resident Evil Requiem that would have taken place shortly after the beginning of the game.
According to Requiem director Koshi Nakanishi, Capcom excised a "phantom" Chapter 2 during development — similar to how the company also cut Resident Evil 7's second gameplay chapter.
"I've mentioned in interviews before that there was a phantom Chapter 2 for Resident Evil 7 that was cut during development," Nakanishi told Japanese website Denfaminicogamer (via machine translation). "It was a scene where you move from the first annex to the main building, but actually, there was also a phantom Chapter 2 for Resident Evil: Requiem."
Frustratingly, Nakanishi did not go into further detail on what this cut chapter...
The new mode coming to Resident Evil Requiem next month will require you have completed the main game in order to access it.
So, if you're yet to finish Leon S. Kennedy and Grace Ashcroft's adventures in Raccoon City, now is the time to do so, according to Requiem's development team.
