Today you can cheaply purchase one of the most impressive third-person shooters of this gen. And if you somehow don't like it, er, maybe just returnal it. Failing that, I'd recommend Gang Beasts and the classic Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance for single-screen multi shenanigans. Alternatively, show a bit of local dev support by buying a heavily discounted Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles.

It is difficult for a game to be truly uninteresting. It requires an unlikely convergence of events to perfectly thread the needle between good and terrible to create something remarkably unremarkable; functional and largely inoffensive, but also joyless and flat. Babylon’s Fall is one such convergence: The generic dark fantasy storyline is pointless, and the worst-in-class textures and character models suck any visual appeal out of what could have been an interesting painted-canvas art style. Combat and level design are both competent but plain in single-player or co-op, with just enough good ideas sprinkled in to keep things from immediately growing stale… though it inevitably does. So no, it didn’t exactly keep me glued to my seat...

Amazon Games will slowly but surely open up Lost Ark's gender-locked classes.
Classes are currently locked to specific genders, meaning only men can be warriors, only women can be mages, and so on, but franchise lead Soomin Park told Eurogamer that this will change over time.
He said: "Classes are tied pretty closely to their character models in terms of function and animation, so bringing opposite gender characters to a class takes more work than just making a differently gendered model available."
When the North American version was released last month, Park said developer Smilegate RPG made an effort to include classes that currently have a male and female version in the further along Korean version. Players will therefore...
Our IGN First "cover story" for this month is Star Trek: Resurgence, the upcoming post-TNG adventure from longtime Telltale developer (and longtime LucasArts adventure game maker too!) Kevin Bruner and his new team at Dramatic Labs, which is comprised of many former Telltale developers.
Star Trek: Resurgence is a narrative adventure game in which you'll be able to freely explore sections of both your ship and, yes, strange new worlds, making dialogue choices along the way as one of two playable characters whose perspectives alternate as the game – which isn't episodic, by the way – progresses.
The first-ever uncut chunk of gameplay, which you can see in the video at the top of this page (you can also see the reveal trailer from The...

Editor's Note: The war in Ukraine is an ongoing, painful and emotive topic. IGN urges community members to be respectful when engaging in conversation around this subject and does not endorse harassment of any kind.

Worth more than $6,500 if every item was bought separately, the bundle of 991 items is available until March 18. The minimum price is $10, though Itch is urging people to pay above the minimum price if possible. It has already raised $800,000, which will be split between International Medical Corps and Voices of Children.
The pack includes Celeste, Towerfall Ascension, Superhot and...

Western publisher Amazon Games and developer Smilegate RPG announced that more than 4.7 million new players joined within three days of Lost Ark's release in North and South America, Europe, and Australia, and that number has now grown to more than 10 million. The game launched in South Korea back in 2019, where it amassed a huge following well before its western release.
But Amazon Games VP Christoph Hartmann said the action-RPG-MMO is just getting started: "The excitement surrounding Lost Ark from around the world is quickly gaining steam, as evidenced by the growing number of global players.

Blizzard is gearing up for a series of new Warcraft reveals in the coming months, including a new expansion for World of Warcraft and a Warcraft mobile game announcement.
On March 15, details for the new Hearthstone expansion will be revealed. About a month later on April 19, details for the new WoW expansion will be revealed. The last World of Warcraft expansion, Shadowlands, was released in 2020, meaning it’s about time for a new adventure in WoW.
The potentially biggest surprise comes in May when the long-rumored Warcraft mobile game is set to be revealed.
Blizzard has long been rumored to be working on a mobile game related to Warcraft. Blizzard confirmed that the mobile game would be released in 2022 back in February after...
In the wake of Steam Deck's release last week, many fans are waiting anxiously for the email giving them the greenlight to order a unit of their own. Meanwhile, some further down the line are finding that they will have to wait still longer for Valve's new handheld unit.
Over on the Steam Deck subreddit, some users are reporting that their order availability has been pushed from "Q3 2022" to "After Q3 2022." Others report that their previously nebulous "After Q2 2022" is now a firmer "Q3 2022," while some say they went from "After Q2" to "After Q3." It seems that some customers are getting pushed back as other users further ahead of them are locked into a release window.
These reports are corroborated by the experiences of the IGN...

Season 2 of Halo Infinite's multiplayer is arriving this May, but two beloved Halo modes could still be a ways off. Halo developer 343 Industries previously said campaign co-op and the Forge mode wouldn't arrive until May 2022 at the earliest, but now the Halo community is dealing with the confirmation that campaign co-op and Forge won't be there when Season 2 drops.
Titled Lone Wolves, Season 2 is bringing two new maps, new modes, the return of King of the Hill, and more cosmetics to Halo Infinite. After 343's recent announcement that campaign co-op wouldn't be arriving with the launch of Season 2, Halo Infinite players took to social media to share their opinions on the news.
The reactions are largely negative, with many fans...
Today From Software is best known for birthing and leading the charge of the Soulsborne genre, a portmanteau named after its Bloodborne and Dark Souls series. But the longer history of the company reveals a more chequered past, a timeline populated by minor hits at best, alongside curious novelties, intriguing failures, and more than a few outright duds.
In some ways, From Software emerged out of nowhere in 2011 with the release of the original Dark Souls, the studio's first genuine smash hit. Suddenly, almost overnight, millions of PS3 and Xbox 360 owners around the world were playing a From Software game, likely for the very first time.
But to a more dedicated observer, the ‘overnight’ success of Dark Souls - a streak that...

It won't be long until horror game fans get their next glimpse of EA's Dead Space Remake, as the company has announced a new developer livestream coming later this week.
The YouTube livestream is set for 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. E.T. / 6 p.m. GMT this Friday, March 11. EA says this video is the "latest in their series of early looks at the development and what goes into the remake of a game."
Last August, EA showed off the first look at Dead Space remake's graphics and gameplay in the first developer showcase. Here, we learned about the combat's new "peeling" system, which lets players shoot the flesh off of enemies to expose bones and guts.
We also learned Gunner Wright will return to voice Isaac, and that there will be fine-tuning to...
When you hear “board games” it’s undeniable that a lot of people will presume children are involved somehow. And why not? They make fantastic family pastimes that bring kids and adults together for some quality time in our digitized and atomized age. But to pigeonhole them like that ignores the fact that the majority of board games are deep, demanding, and definitely designed for grown-ups. So whether you're into 2-player board games, party games, or even solo games, here are our picks for the best titles to stretch your grey matter and provoke some interesting discussions.
Wingspan
There’s no better place to start this list than with one of the most popular and engaging games of the last few years. Wingspan is often sold as a family...
Valve recently sent out the second batch of emails to those that are expected to order a Steam Deck in Q1 2022. And while that news is good for those eager to get the portable gaming PC, the more interesting news the company also announced that it is "looking into making Steam Deck available" in more countries.
As noted in the latest press release, Valve confirmed that it is looking to expand Steam Deck's reach into other markets "by the end of the year." While the company did not go into specifics such as exactly what countries it will make Steam Deck available, it did mention Japan was one market it was looking to make the handheld available next. Further noting that the team is "continuing to push on all these fronts" and promising...

Mouse and keyboard support is finally coming to xCloud, according to the head of Microsoft Flight Simulator.
In a developer Q&A spotted by Windows Central, Jorg Neumann confirmed the feature was coming to Microsoft's cloud streaming platform likely within the next few months.
Mouse and keyboard support has been a long-requested feature of xCloud, which currently only natively supports playing with a gamepad, or with touch controls on mobile.
When asked if the new control options were coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator following its release on xCloud last week, Neumann said it was up to Xbox itself to implement the support and wasn't something they could do as an individual developer. Thankfully, it seems to be on the way.

The Batman director Matt Reeves has said that the spin-off series focused on the Gotham police department has "evolved" into a series focused on Arkham Asylum, and compared it to a horror movie or haunted house story.
The spin-off series, which has never been formally named, was announced in 2020, and was subsequently said to focus on Jeffrey Wright's Jim Gordon. However, it seems have plans have changed – Matt Reeves spoke to YouTube channel The Cyber Nerds, and suggested the show will now focus on a differen tpart of Gotham's history:
"The GCDP thing, that story has story has kind of evolved. We’ve actually now [moved] more into the realm of exactly what would happen in the world of Arkham as it relates coming off of our movie, and...
Elden Ring's popularity has continued to grow in its second week on the market, having now overtaken New World to become Steam's sixth biggest game of all time by concurrent players.
Per SteamDB data, Elden Ring's peak concurrent users currently stand at 953,426, with a weekend surge pushing it past New World's 913,634.
This places the game behind only Cyberpunk 2077 in fifth, followed by Dota 2, CS: GO, Lost Ark, and finally PUBG: Battlegrounds in first place as Steam's most popular games of all time by concurrent users.
Elden Ring's stats are impressive for other reasons too – it's not dropped below half a million concurrent users on Steam since it launched on February 25. Today, March 7, has seen Elden Ring's lowest concurrent...
Elden Ring fans are debating the meaning of a few curiously locked parts of The Lands Between, with many concluding that they'll be used for PvP or Boss Rush DLC additions (although the latter seems much less likely).
Warning: This article contains small spoilers for Elden Ring locations.
It's very possible that you'll have stumbled across one or more of the Colosseums in The Lands Between, and subsequently been a bit confused about why you can't get inside.
The game's opening area, Limgrave, includes a Colosseum, guarded by an NPC invader you have to defeat in order to claim two of the game's multiplayer items. However, the Colosseum itself remains closed, with a ghostly figure sat outside wondering why they can't get in...
The team behind Lost Ark has announced that, on March 4, it permanently removed "over a million illegitimate accounts" from the game that were running bots.
The news was shared via a blog, saying that it understands botting has been a huge problem since Lost Ark's launch and the team has been "hard at work on crafting effective tools and methods to identify and remove bots from the game." Now, that work has begun to pay off.
"Maintaining a fair and fun gameplay experience for our players is a top priority for the team," The Lost Ark team wrote. "While we intend to make a massive impact with this ban wave, we know that there is more work to be done and want players to know that this is only one step in what will be an active and...
343 Industries has revealed new details on Season 2 of Halo Infinite's multiplayer, including that it will be called Lone Wolves, that it will have new maps and modes, and that it will be released on May 3, 2022.
All the news was shared on Halo Waypoint by Halo Infinite head of creative Joseph Staten, and he began by sharing the inspiration behind Lone Wolves, which is both Season 2's name and theme.
"By 'theme' we mean a core idea that guides the creation of much, but not all, of a Season’s content," Staten said. "Lone Wolf Spartans are hunters. Trackers. They’re resourceful improvisers, operating deep in enemy territory without resupply or support. They’re fierce, rugged, and prefer to work alone—but they’re still loyal to the...
