Warhorse Studios has delayed medieval open world role-playing game Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 from 2024 to February 11, 2025, though will release 25 minutes of gameplay later in August.
No explicit reason for the delay was given, with Warhorse public relations manager Tobias Stolz-Zwilling merely saying on X/Twitter that "we slipped to 2025." A three minute video was shared to announce the delay, release date, and Warhorese's plans for the coming months.
“We aimed for the end of the year and almost made it," Stolz-Zwilling said. "Almost is not good enough though, so unfortunately we slipped to 2025."
He then said a Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 trailer will be released during Gamescom 2024's Opening Night Live showcase on August 20...
The Persona 3 Reload remake released in February 2024 will "likely never" get female protagonist Kotone Shiomi, who was introduced in a previous iteration of the game, its producer has said.
As reported by PC Gamer, Persona series producer Kazuhisa Wada told Game Informer Magazine that he was "really sorry" but fan pleas for Shiomi's inclusion will probably never be answered.
"The more we discussed it, the more unlikely it became," Wada said. "The development time and costs would not have been manageable.
I'm really sorry to all of the fans who were holding out hope.
"Persona 3 Reload has just released, and there is currently a lot of player interest, so if we are to do an additional release, it has to be now. But since it is not...
If you've been hanging for a bargain on some long-form gaming, today's your lucky day. I'm tracking a ton of discounts on quality RPG titles, many of them are Bethesda-produced, but there are also some AAAs from other outfits that were released quite recently. Anyway, enough talk. Let's get to saving...
In retro news, I’m taking aim at Duck Hunt, the quintessential light gun game that’s having its 37th birthday today. I have crystal clear memories of my first time playing this and thinking, “Whaaa? There’s a bright orange ray gun that can kill the things living in my TV?” That felt like voodoo magic to an '80s kid. Better yet, the NES Zapper had this ker-chunking trigger retort, too; satisfying, despite also coming with a side order...
If you’ve followed Doom:The Dark Ages at all, you’re likely aware the FPS prequel will find players carving through Hell’s hordes from behind a hulking shield equipped with an enemy-eviscerating spinning blade. And while all the, er, buzz surrounding this death-dealer seems justified, the hyped weapon may have some of its thunder stolen by The Knightlings’ Magnustego buckler, a defensive device with some cool tricks of its own.
But we’re getting a bit ahead of ourselves.
The Knightling is an upcoming fantasy action-adventure focused on fast-paced combat and creative platforming. And it’s nothing at all like Doom:The Dark Ages. Well, except for that shield we mentioned a moment ago. You see, the story-driven, semi-open world game puts...
The almost parodically melodramatic characters and odd combination of genres that make up Dustborn lead to an eye-rolling first impression, but as my crew of mutated misfits traveled across America whacking people with an upgraded baseball bat and talking about our feelings, I realized that there's a lot more to it than I first thought. Dustborn is tackling big ideas, and it's doing it with robots in bunny hats, broken-hearted biker queens, and science-fiction squid things. This mash-up of comic books, Telltale-inspired narrative adventures, and rhythm games is like a buffet of styles, story, and action, and it works better than it has any right to.
You play as Pax, an aloof conwoman transporting secret cargo to Canada with a gang of...
Blizzard has revealed the first full trailer for Overwatch 2 Season 12: New Frontiers, promising a proper debut for new support hero Juno, a Reaper Mythic skin, and a tease for what seems to be a World of Warcraft crossover.
It’s a two-and-a-half-minute video that shows off the upcoming seasonal update and its ancient Egypt theme along with an assortment of new skins that will be available both via the Battle Pass and in the in-game shop. Some of the cosmetics include new outfits for Mercy, Doomfist, Sigma, Illari, and more, with highlights including a Dorothy/Tin Man skin for Ashe and a sleek, golden look for Echo. Juno is the real star of the show, though, as Blizzard teases her return following a weekend trial period that allowed...

You ever watch a black metal music video and think, “This is cool and all, but what if those guys screaming around a candlelit pentagram had mid-20th century guns?” Me neither, but I can’t help but think the team at The Astronauts did to get inspired for Witchfire, their single-player roguelike extraction shooter that feels like a gaslamp fantasy movie with Mercyful Fate as the soundtrack. Its mix of hot-handed running and gunning and more slow-paced exploration and investigation meld into something that is more of a dream to play than a nightmare. Though some balancing of what can feel like downright unfair difficulty is certainly in order, and some of the more obscure features could be made to feel less esoteric, I am firmly caught in...

Over two years after Valve released the Steam Deck and helped mainstream a new sub-genre of PC gaming, the company confirmed that it would allow rival PC handhelds like the Asus ROG Ally to run SteamOS.
Speaking to The Verge, Valve designer Lawrence Yang confirmed that the company intends to allow competing portable gaming PCs to run its Linux-based operating system. The news comes just days after a new SteamOS patch notes revealed that the update "added support for extra ROG Ally keys."
"The note about ROG Ally keys is related to third-party device support for SteamOS. The team is continuing to work on adding support for additional handhelds on SteamOS," Yang told The Verge. However, don't expect SteamOS to be running on a device...
Barkour, the latest game from Bee Simulator developer Varsav Studios, is, to quote the team, "an action/stealth game where you take on the role of a tail-wagging canine 009 agent, unleashed by a secret organization to fight evil in a world that that's anything but ruff and serious." It is due out in 2025 for PC.
Yes, it's true. Barkour is a stealth game where you play as a dog secret agent. And as you can see from the trailer above, it looks absolutely delightful. Don't miss the first batch of concept art and screenshots in the gallery below as well.
Varsav describes Barkour as such: "Agent T.H.U.N.D.E.R. is a highly trained professional who is well aware of the stakes of each mission that he takes part in. However, he is still a...
When I first got my hands on Visions of Mana at PAX East 2024, I was pleased by how much I enjoyed the gameplay. A refreshing take on battle and class systems and a smooth overall flow to fights were just some of the highlights I experienced in the two hours I got to play. For my final preview, it was almost the opposite experience, but in a good way. I played right from the beginning of chapter one for about three hours, and what surprised me most this time was how much I enjoyed the characters and story.
The adventure starts with Val and Hinna, a duo who grew up in the same town and have known each other for a long time. As they set off on their journey to the mana tree, a bit of time is spent on their relationship and the...
PlayStation 4 horror classic Until Dawn comes to PlayStation 5 and PC on October 4, 2024.
The remastered game — which sees the player control a group of eight teenagers vacationing in a spooky mountaintop cabin — has been built in Unreal Engine 5 and therefore offers updated character models, environments, interactable props, visual effects, animations, and more.
Remaster studio Ballistic Moon promises a more "atmospheric experience" which fits with the conventions of "modern horror," helped by these features alongside the addition of raytracing and enhanced materials. Comparisons with the original game from 2015 can be seen below.
Perhaps most prominently, the remastered game features a reworked prologue, with adjustments to its...
The deep discounts continue today on only the games that matter. Where was I yesterday? Getting even more impressed by Astro Bot, a game that already felt like a solid preorder prospect going into that hands-on session. I'll let you dig through my fuller impressions here, but the TL;DR is that it's no slouch in the challenge department (if you head into the 'Hard' designated planets of its galaxy). As a serious 3D platformer fan who cut his teeth on Crash and Super Mario 64, I'm just as surprised as you are about this.
In retro news, I'm celebrating the 11th birthday of Duck Tales Remastered, an exemplary milestone on how to nail an 8-bit glow-up. Ironically, developer WayForward was the opposite of Scrooge with this, sparing no...
Helldivers 2 players were left dissatisfied with the launch of its recent Escalation of Freedom update, and developer Arrowhead Studios says it wants to fix that.
The studio published a statement on the matter on its Reddit page, outlining a 60-day plan in an attempt to regain player trust and lost ground. It’s a message that sees Arrowhead acknowledging player frustrations, as it promises to focus on “action. Not talk,” when it comes to Helldivers 2’s future.
“We’ve spent the last week listening to feedback, reflecting about the path ahead for Helldivers 2 and how we want to continue developing the game,” game director Mikael Eriksson said. “In short, we didn’t hit our target with the latest update. Some things we just didn’t get...
Replaced, an Xbox console-exclusive cyberpunk sidescroller, has been delayed a second time. It's now expected to come out in 2025, after previously being delayed to this year from 2022.
In a post on Twitter/X, developer Sad Cat Studios kept it short and sweet: "Our initial release date was optimistic, and we apologize for that. Developing Replaced is quite a unique challenge, and we're proud to be creating something that special.
"We need more time to ensure we meet the high standards we've set for ourselves and to meet the expectations of our fans."
In the meantime, Sad Cat has announced the game will be playable at Gamescom, and that "something special" will be coming later this week.
Replaced was first announced way back at E3...

If you are looking forward to playing Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster but wish to use the original control mechanics, you're in luck. The upcoming remaster includes a feature that lets players choose whether to use the control layout from the original game.
In the settings for Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, players will have two options: "Standard" and "Classic," as shown in the image below. The former is the new control scheme, which includes quality-of-life improvements to Dead Rising's gameplay, such as the ability to move while aiming. The latter is a control scheme similar to the one used in Dead Rising's original Xbox 360 version and the 2016 HD re-release.
Of course, switching to the Classic Controls comes with its drawbacks. Most...
Unlike its Capcom sibling Resident Evil before it, Dead Rising took an unconventional approach to zombie-slaying action when it first released as an Xbox 360 exclusive back in 2006, favoring sandbox-style gameplay that could get very goofy if you desired. So you can imagine my surprise when Capcom, out of nowhere, decided to not only revive the series, but it just so happened to be a rebuild of the first game from the ground up. After spending time playing the first two days of 72-Hour mode, I am confident that Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is shaping up to be everything I could have wanted in the long-awaited return to one of my favorite franchises.
Yes, I did say “rebuild,” but let’s clear the air: Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is not...
There's a moment right before the start of a ranked RTS match that’s like nothing else I've felt in games, and even in Early Access, Stormgate delivers it. I see my name. I see my opponent's name. I can feel my own heartbeat, and I take a deep breath. Then I'm looking at a colorful command center and a gaggle of workers, and it's just me and some random stranger fighting it out for glory or ruin. Though it's visibly lower budget than its Blizzard-made predecessors, Stormgate is moving the basecraft formula forward on a design level in some subtle and not-so-subtle ways.
Unsurprisingly, since it's made by a bunch of former Blizzard RTS devs, Stormgate has the feel and overall rhythm of a classic Blizzard RTS. At its best, it's like...
What a thrill! The Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X is currently marked down an incredible 50% off at Amazon and Best Buy. This brings its price down to $19.99, which is absolutely worth taking advantage of before the discount disappears. Plus, there's no better time than now to pick up this collection and play it, what with MGS Delta on the horizon.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 is 50% Off
And speaking of Delta - or, should I say, Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater - if you're itching to get your preorder in for the highly-anticipated remake, we've got you covered there as well. In our Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater preorder guide, we've listed which...
Developer Fatbot Games has announced a new Quake-era-themed boomer shooter called Gravelord, mixing in tarot cards that are played during the fast-first-person-shooter gameplay in order to add a layer of customizability and unpredictability to the action. Stupid-but-strong Queedo the Gravedigger quips about the violence he dispenses with his shovel (and a full menagerie of other weapons) as he goes, a la Duke Nukem.
Gravelord is in development for PC and does not yet have a release date. Check out the first trailer above and the first screenshots in the gallery below.
Gravelord promises fast-paced combat, hand-crafted retro levels (read: there are secrets to find!), weapon upgrades, a story told through hidden comic book pages, a...
To follow up on Boss Team Games' surprise announcement from yesterday, IGN can exclusively reveal the studio's next two games, coming this October.
In a press release, Boss Team Games announced RetroRealms, a new series of games for consoles and PC. The first two games in this new series are based on John Carpenter's iconic horror franchise Halloween and the Starz original series Ash vs Evil Dead.
You can watch the new trailer below.
"Everyone at Boss Team Games are huge fans of horror, and getting to work with these legendary properties is a dream come true," Boss Team Games' CEO Steve Harris explained in a press release. "It has been an amazing experience collaborating with WayForward, and our licensors to create not one, but...
Two new games based on the 1978 horror classic Halloween are in development at Boss Team Games, IGN can exclusively reveal.
While details are limited, both games are apparently being developed in conjunction with the producers of the Halloween franchise. What's more, one of the games is being developed in Unreal Engine 5, and will include input from original director John Carpenter.
"As a huge gamer myself, I’m thrilled to help bring Michael Myers to life again in this game, and my hope is to scare you silly," said Carpenter, who will be "intimately involved" with the development of the new project.
According to the official release, the games will allow players to "relive moments from the film and play as classic characterse from...

Though the eye-searing sheen of Microsoft’s Forza Horizon games might convince more contemporary players that the whole open-world racing shtick was pioneered by The House of Xbox, that whole template was actually conceived much earlier by the Test Drive Unlimited titles way back in the dark mists of 2006. Now with some thirteen years on […]

Developer Nacon has announced that its open-world co-op game Terminator: Survivors has been delayed from its original October Early Access release date.
The studio announced the schedule change on its official X/Twitter account, revealing that the Skynet survival game’s Early Access build will no longer launch on October 24. It’s now been pushed to an unspecified date in 2025, with Nacon citing a desire to meet fans’ expectations. It acknowledges that the news will be disappointing for those who planned on playing the next Terminator game this Halloween but is confident in its decision, saying, “In the long term we believe this is the right call.”
“Over the past few months, we’ve been really impressed by your enthusiasm and amazed...
Roughly two weeks after the release of Fallout: London, the big Fallout 4 mod that takes the post-apocalyptic RPG overseas, digital distribution store GOG.com revealed that the expansion-sized mod has become the "fastest redeemed game of all time" on its platform.
In a press release published on Friday, GOG revealed that in the first 24 hours, Fallout: London was redeemed "more than 500,000 times," taking the crown as the fastest downloaded game of all time for its storefront alone.
"The initial release of Fallout: London quickly turned out to be an incredible success – and a prime example of how work of passion and creativity can bring in a plethora of new, exciting ways to enjoy a game," GOG wrote in a press release.
That success...
Francisco Gonzalez’s upcoming point-and-click adventure game, Rosewater, features a star-studded voice cast. It includes Greg Chun (Yu Nanba in Yakuza: Like a Dragon and Infinite Wealth, Ike in multiple Fire Emblem games), Roger Clark (Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2), Cam Clarke (Leonardo in 1987’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Liquid Snake in Metal Gear), Dave Fennoy (Lee in The Walking Dead), Cissy Jones (Katjaa in The Walking Dead, Delilah in Firewatch)...the list goes on and on.
It sounds like a roster for the latest AAA blockbuster. But it’s not. Gonzalez was able to wrangle this cast despite being a mostly-solo indie developer working on a game with a budget under $50,000. How did he do it?
Gonzalez is one of a number...
Three months ago, popular fighting game Twitch streamer Maximillian Dood announced a Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite fan project that sought to give the once-troubled 7-year-old fighting game a much-needed facelift. Now, not only has the community-driven mode made a ton of progress, but it also has a playable beta that shadow-dropped yesterday.
Maximilian Dood announced his Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite mod, now minted as Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite & Beyond, in a lengthy YouTube video on his channel. In the hour and 46-minute video, Maximilian detailed the mod and its changes in comparison to the game’s original release.
“The only way you can play other people online with these balance changes is if the other person also has it,” Maximilian...
