Now Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.2 is out in the wild, players are having fun digging into the new photo mode features to create all sorts of wild and wacky shots. 2.2 vastly improves the photo mode, increasing the scope of the camera while adding improved lighting and the ability to spawn up to three NPCs from a list of 20 characters. There’s a new gallery you can display in your apartment to show off your snaps, too. During a community video, game director Paweł Sasko predicted players would use this to create Panam-ception, and that’s exactly what redditor TheSadDiamond has done. Speaking of Panam, the popular romance option is the early days focus of Cyberpunk 2077 players’ experiments with the new photo mode, perhaps unsurprisingly...
As Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 players dig into the recently released game-changing Patch 5 update, they’ve uncovered something developer Saber Interactive appears to have accidentally added early. Redditor MrBossman4411 noticed a Thousand Sons icon in the Heraldry Editor, which points to a so far unannounced Research Centre. The Thousand Sons are one of the enemy factions in Space Marine 2, a Space Marine Traitor Legion so far unplayable in the game itself. This was further explored in a video by Warhammer 40,000 YouTuber Chapter Master Valrak, and is verified as being live in-game at the time of this article’s publication by IGN. The Research Centre appears to be a Battle Barge expansion in which you unlock and potentially...
While many of you wouldn’t have batted an eyelid to the fact, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 have been re-released today. Frankly, I’m just not seeing nearly enough rejoicing online about this fact. Or, indeed, cheap deal guides on where to buy these two long-forgotten classics for the least amount of coins possible. That being the case, I’ve taken it upon myself to fix both of those problems with a quick article that’s equal parts praise and price-slashing… What is Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver exactly? In evolutionary terms, it was basically the edgy, goth step-sibling of the original Tomb Raider. In 1999, developer Crystal Dynamics (who, incidentally, would go on to inherit the house of Croft seven years later) effectively aped...
As we race at breakneck speed to the business end of December, gifts will most likely be needed. The trick, it seems to me, is finding a way to spend minimal amounts of money on gifts that appear expensive, at which point one can spend the dollars saved on something great for oneself. Obviously, that's where today's deals come in. And if you mention any of this conversation to my friends or relatives, I'll simply deny it. In retro news, I've baked a big 26-shaped wumpa fruitcake for Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped. After playing the absolute blue boardshorts off the first two Crash games, I can vividly recall being stoked as I super belly flopped into this newy at launch. Aside from an influx of vehicular mini-games, this was more or less...
As the end of the year quickly approaches, it’s time once again to look to the best of the best in pop culture from the past 12 months. From games to movies to TV and beyond, we all played, watched, streamed and read a lot of great stuff in 2024. There was the amazing combat of Black Myth: Wukong, the jaw-dropping sci-fi of Dune: Part Two, and the twists and turns of Prime Video’s Fallout Season 1. Horror hit The Substance wrecked our worlds – and our appetites – while Shogun enthralled us with its historical fiction set in feudal Japan. Indiana Jones gave us his most thrilling adventure in years in The Great Circle, and Cormac McCarthy’s The Road took on new life in comics form. Today we present the full list of nominees for the...
Marvel Rivals may have just launched, but it already boasts a deep roster of iconic Marvel heroes and villains (and a few oddball picks for good measure). The game also includes unlockable skins for every single character. Some of these skins are popular costumes from the MCU. Others are original designs created by NetEase. But many are skins directly inspired by the comic books themselves. Let’s break down every comic-inspired skin in Marvel Rivals and see how they compare to the source material. Check out the slideshow gallery below or read on to learn more. Black Panther: Bast’s Chosen As seen in: Marvel Legacy #1 (2017) This version of Black Panther isn’t T’Challa, but rather his distant ancestor Bashenga. Bashenga served as...
Treyarch and Raven Software have published patch notes for their December 10 Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone update, revealing a list of changes that will impact the current weapon meta. The team behind the latest Season 1 update unveiled all of the changes in two blog posts published on the Call of Duty website. The first covers core Black Ops 6 features, mentioning tweaks to weapon motion, aiming idle sway delay, maps, and modes. It’s an update that also comes with general adjustments to stability across the experience, including a handful of Zombies changes, too. However, the real focus of the December 10 Black Ops 6 update revolves around weapon balancing and headhsot damage. Treyarch explained its goals in detail in a...
Polish developer People Can Fly, the studio best-known for Outriders and Gears of War Judgment, is suspending or scaling back more projects amid what CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski is calling "external market pressures." In a statement released on X/Twitter, Wojciechowski announced that People Can Fly is suspending Project Victoria, scaling down Project Bifrost, and restructuring internal teams. The decision follows the April cancellation of Project Dagger, an action-adventure game originally set to co-developed and published with Take-Two Interactive before it pulled out in September 2022. As part of the cutbacks, People Can Fly says it's either suspending or laying off 120 workers, adding to 2024's already grim games industry layoff...
Ubisoft has shared a deep dive into combat in the Feudal Japan-set Assassin's Creed Shadows, detailing enemies such as wandering ronin and weapons such as katanas and the iconic hidden blade. A blog post from Ubisoft promised a huge amount of variety in Assassin's Creed Shadows, which was originally due out in November before being delayed to February 14. "The protagonist you're playing as and the weapon you're using dramatically alters combat," the developer said. Ubisoft has already outlined the two different characters playable in Assassin's Creed Shadows, including the stealthy assassin Naoe and savage samurai Yasuke. Putting different weapons in their hands will change the playstyle, though Naoe only has three options while...
With Call of Duty seemingly forever hogging the limelight with its Michael Bay-coded story campaigns and celebrity-endorsed skins, it can perhaps be a little too easy to forget that Activision’s contemporary FPS juggernaut was predated by EA’s Medal of Honor, a much more comparatively po-faced shooter series that emphasized historical conflict and theatres of war. […] Continue reading...
CD Projekt has unveiled Cyberpunk 2077 patch 2.2, which significantly expands the game’s customization options. Developed in partnership with support developer Virtuous, 2.2 is called ‘Express Yourself,’ with the idea that players can express themselves more in-game. The update launches today, December 10. 2.2 lets players change the colors of more cars in a more detailed way, with an upgraded vehicle customization user interface. The new TwinTone feature lets you scan any car in Night City and add its paint job to your car. The idea is if you’re driving around and see a cool car, you’ll be able to save its paint job in a database and from there apply it to your cars. This creates a paint job collecting and exploration aspect to...
If you've been itching to get your hands on Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for PC look no further than Fanatical. It's already offering a nice little discount on the game (see here at Fanatical), dropping its price from $69.99 to $58.79, saving you $11.20. That's a discount well worth taking advantage of for this game which we gave a 9/10 to in our review. Check it out at the link below. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Gets Price Drop at Fanatical As mentioned earlier, we absolutely adored this game. In our Indiana Jones and the Great Circle review, IGN's Luke Reilly said, "With a host of gorgeous and lavishly detailed levels, satisfying combat hinged on jawbreaking haymakers, and a focus on slow-paced exploration, platforming...
Mortal Kombat 1 developer NetherRealm has revealed a first look at Conan the Barbarian gameplay with a teaser video that also confirms the DLC character’s release date. Conan the Barbarian’s early access release date is set for January 21, 2025, with a general release planned for a week later. In the video, below, we see Conan go up against Mortal Kombat's villainous warmonger Shao Kahn and deliver the iconic line: “To crush your enemies, see them driven before you.” Shao Kahn, clearly recognising the wisdom of the words, replies: “Truly, what is best in life.” The pair are kindred spirits, it seems. In the 1982 Conan the Barbarian movie, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s titular character is asked: “what is best in life?” He responds: “To...
Black Myth: Wukong developer Game Science has issued a new update for the record-breaking action game, adding a number of new features. Update 1.0.12.16581 adds a new boss rush mode called Challenge, which can be found at any Keeper’s Shrine after beating the game at least once. Two types of challenge are available: Return of Rivals and Gauntlet of Legends. Return of Rivals lets players challenge a defeated boss to a duel, choosing from three levels of difficulty. Gauntlet of Legends lets players fight against multiple opponents in succession, using customized curses to tailor the difficulty. As with Return of Rivals, if any opponents remain undefeated in the main game, the related gauntlet will be unavailable. “This mode can be...
Marvel Rivals has its first post-launch patch, but rather than go head first into big balance changes, this one focuses on bug fixes. The main target of developer NetEase’s patch notes, below, is a fix for spots on the edge of the map that would cause characters to become stuck. This was a particular problem on the Hydra Charteris Base: Hell's Heaven and Klyntar: Symbiotic Surface maps, where special collisions on the edges would cause the player's character to become stuck or clip through and enter “strange areas” (no relation to Doctor Strange). As NetEase noted, while these issues are largely resolved with today’s patch, the bug may be present elsewhere. “We've had a look at the entire map and have done our best to fix this bug,”...
Ubisoft has celebrated the reopening of Paris cathedral Notre Dame with an advertisement for Assassin's Creed Unity, the Paris-set entry in its long-running stealth action game series. As reported by PC Gamer, Ubisoft shared the Assassin's Creed Unity Tribute: Explore Notre Dame with Arno video on YouTube as a celebration of the "historic reopening." The 12th century Notre Dame was devastated by a fire on April 15, 2019 and remained closed until December 7, 2024. "To celebrate this historic reopening, join Arno, our legendary Assassin, as we revisit our meticulously recreated Paris during the French Revolution," Ubisoft said in the video description. "From the busy streets to the soaring heights of the cathedral spire, enjoy an...
Changes are coming to action role-playing game Path of Exile 2 thick and fast following its huge Early Access launch, with a new hotfix out now. In a post on the Path of Exile forum, developer Grinding Gear Games published a list of issues it felt needed to be “urgently addressed,” with other less urgent issues to be tackled later on. Chief among them is the feeling that Path of Exile 2 isn’t rewarding enough, something GGG acknowledged is a problem. “One of the major problems that players have been experiencing is feeling that the game is not rewarding enough,” it said. “This is an area that we have to be very careful when adjusting because it's very hard to reduce drops if we increase them by too much.” Specifically, GGG felt that...
One of our favorite games of 2024, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is back down to its Black Friday pricing for one day only. Best Buy has dropped the game to just $14.99 as part of its deal of the day, a tremendous 70% off its usual price of $49.99, and also its lowest price of the year according to price tracker camelcamelcamel. This was one of IGN readers favorite deals in November and a best seller on both PS5 and Switch. Snap it up ASAP if you missed the original sale. Alongside scoring nominations at The Game Awards this year for Best Action/Adventure Game and Innovation in Accessibility, we also had high praise for The Lost Crown in our review. Writer Phil Hornshaw said, "Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown captures not only...
A mischievous Yakuza / Like a Dragon fan has tricked Google Maps into including the video game series' iconic Millennium Tower Rooftop as a tourist attraction in its real world Tokyo map. Reddit user waasup spotted the Millennium Tower Rooftop location alongside an image of it from the Yakuza / Like a Dragon games, which could easily be (and was) mistaken for a genuine photo of Tokyo. It's unclear how long the Millennium Tower Rooftop has been an official location on Google Maps, but fans of the action and role-playing game series have had a little fun after it was flagged on the Reddit page. "A fun spot to go with your kyodais," said one of its "customers" on Google Maps. "Got shot in the leg and someone dumped a ton of cash out...
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Patch 5 is out now across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S, and it makes a number of significant balance changes. There’s a lot to pick through, but the highlight here is a complete rework of Blocking weapons, which were deemed useless by players ever since Space Marine 2’s record-breaking September launch. Now, by blocking enemy attacks, the player accumulates up to three stacks of melee damage buffs. Attacking while having those stacks of buffs will spend them and will result in massive AoE Damage discharge. Check out the patch notes, below, for more detail. In a post on publisher Focus Entertainment’s website, game director Dmitriy Grigorenko explained that Fencing weapons will remain...
This week of brilliant gaming bargains continues, and, as always, it's my absolute pleasure to lead you to a great game worth buying for way less. Personally, I'd gravitate towards that "Masters of RPG" Humble Bundle for sheer hours-per-dollar value. I also honestly think Indy and the Great Circle is the rarest of museum pieces—a game actually worth paying full price for (so getting it for less is a no-brainer). Failing that, just score Suicide Squad for 19 bucks. Surprisingly ok with mates (but only at that price). In retro news, it's been 25 years since I prepared for my finest hour in Medal of Honor, a pivotal PlayStation FPS that's worthy of salute. After reinvigorating WWII in popular culture with Saving Private Ryan, Spielberg...
Rocksteady is pulling the plug on new content for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League after Season 4, with the developer announcing its plans to end support for the troubled online game in January 2025. Rocksteady revealed the news in an official blog detailing Suicide Squad's final season, which will include the release of an offline mode and a new playable character in Deathstroke. While Rocksteady doesn't plan to release any new content, Suicide Squad's story will remain playable via offline mode and it will be possible to play co-op with friends. Previous seasonal content will also continue to be available. Elsewhere, Rocksteady said Suicide Squad will remain available for purchase and that its in-game store will continue to...
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) will soon deliver payments totaling in more than $72 million to gamers it says were “tricked” by Fortnite developer Epic Games – and more is on the way. The organization shared its plans to refund players affected by what was determined to be unfair microtransaction practices in a message on its website. The cash is included in a settlement that was originally revealed in late 2022. As the post explains, at the time, Epic was required to pay $245 million to resolve claims that it “used design tactics known as dark patterns to trick players into making unwanted purchases, let children rack up unauthorized charges without any parental involvement, and blocked some users who disputed unauthorized...
2K has announced two of its big hitters are set for fresh reveals at this week’s The Game Awards: Borderlands 4 and Mafia: The Old Country. “Who's ready to get their first look at the most ambitious Borderlands yet?!” reads the tweet from the Borderlands account. “See you at @thegameawards!” reads the tweet from the Mafia account. Gearbox development chief Randy Pitchford tweeted to hype up the Borderlands 4 trailer, which he said includes gameplay. He added that he will also share an original cinematic sequence depicting a moment that occurs about halfway between the end of Borderlands 3 and the beginning of Borderlands 4. Both Borderlands 4 and Mafia: The Old Country are due out at some point in 2025, potentially running up...
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a direct sequel to a notoriously unforgiving medieval RPG. Our hero, Henry, is a bit more experienced after the events of his last adventure, and the evolved and streamlined combat system should ease you into things a little bit more. After all, he's not just a village lad waving a stick around anymore. But, like the first game, KCD2 isn't a power fantasy. "Always remember that Henry isn't a superhero," said lead designer Prokop Jirsa. "The world especially at the beginning is dangerous. You don't have any real equipment, everything will be hard to achieve and that's intentional. We really like when the progression in the world feels very rewarding." And so, for this month’s IGN First, we've worked...
Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt was thought to have moved on from the game and onto other projects such as The Witcher 4 and the Cyberpunk sequel, but it’s just surprised fans by confirming yet another significant patch is on the way. CD Projekt will reveal the new features coming to Cyberpunk 2077 in Update 2.2 on December 10, the game’s four-year anniversary. Marcin Momot, Global Community Director at CD Projekt, tweeted to say “the team still has some gas in the tank.” That’s all we know for now, although CD Projekt teased big things, saying: “Get ready, chooms! It's gonna be 🔥” We do know, however, that there are no plans for a PlayStation 5 Pro update for Cyberpunk 2077. Nor is New Game Plus coming to the game. Momot...
Black Friday and Cyber Monday may be behind us, but some retailers have a few deals left up their sleeves before the holidays. Amazon, in particular, has a great offer right now. If Helldivers 2 was on your radar during the sale event, the PS5 version is currently down to just $24.99 for Prime Members. That's $5 lower than the $29.99 price it dropped to during Black Friday, and $15 off its original price. With a deal like that, there's no better time to join the fight for Super Earth. For Democracy! Our Helldivers 2 review had high praise for this game as well, if you need a little extra convincing before picking it up. Writer Will Borger said, "Helldivers 2 is the rare modern multiplayer game that does almost everything right. It...
Some things are just meant to be. Peanut butter and chocolate. Movie theaters and popcorn. The Cleveland Browns and failure. By all rights, Power Rangers and a mid-90s arcade beat ‘em up should also be on that list. It just seems like something written in the book that determines cosmic history, willed into existence by a higher power. But it never happened. Yes, there were a couple of middling SNES/Genesis sidescrollers, but like most console beat ‘em ups at the time, they were limited by their at-home hardware. We never got a proper, glorious four-to-six player arcade cabinet, or even a game designed like it was made for one. At least, not until now. With Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind, developer Digital Eclipse has taken...
Path of Exile 2 developer Grinding Gear Games has already identified a number of skills it plans to nerf following the action RPG’s explosive Early Access launch. Just a day after Path of Exile 2 launched to huge concurrent player numbers on Steam, GGG tweeted to say it had “finally hit that point where a skill with unacceptable balance has been discovered.” The skill in question is Supercharged Slam, which GGG said is dealing “far too much damage than was intended given the short channel window required to hit maximum stages.” The developer reduced its damage via a hotfix soon after issuing the tweet. “As much as we are trying to avoid nerfing skills and builds, it is better to do this early before it feels obligatory to use the...
Red Dead Redemption actor Rob Wiethoff, who plays the iconic John Marston in both the original game and Red Dead Redemption 2, has started an OnlyFans page. While the website is predominantly associated with adult content, Wiethoff's OnlyFans page, spotted by ComicBook, will instead chronicle his journey getting in shape. "This page is not like other OnlyFans pages," Wiethoff said in an Instagram comment. "If you follow, you're going to watch an old guy work out. That's all it is. My plan is to get ripped, though. You can do it with me if you want." He warned he's by no means an expert, however. "I am not certified or even trained in any kind of physical training nor am I an educated or certified dietician," Wiethoff said on his...
