Embracer has hailed the success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, confirming it is near the 2 million sold mark.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 sold 1 million copies just a day after launch, and has now nearly doubled that figure 10 days later.
It's an incredible sales success for developer Warhorse Studios' medieval Europe action role playing game sequel, which launched on February 4 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. Embracer said Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 did particularly well on Steam, where it saw over 250,000 peak concurrent players. For context, the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance hit a peak Steam concurrent player count of 96,069 seven years ago.

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is releasing a free demo for Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii today on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC via Steam.
The studio announced the demo on X/Twitter, saying it will be available to download at 7am Pacific / 10am Eastern / 3pm UK. The full game will be available February 21 also on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but these platforms will not get the free demo.
RGG Studio didn't say explicitly if progress from the demo will carry on to the full Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii but, based on its contents, that doesn't appear to be the case. The demo appears to let players essentially skip forward to certain freeroam and battle areas and therefore doesn't follow the natural story.

Konami finally confirmed yesterday that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will release on August 28, 2025, with the new teaser trailer also revealing the Snake vs. Monkey minigame is similarly making a comeback.
Snake won't take on Pipo Monkeys in all editions of the game, however. Sony has announced the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for February 2025.
Revealed during the State of Play 2025 broadcast, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, TopSpin 2K25, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – Tape 1 and more hit the subscription service this month.

One of the many announcements during the Febaruary 2025 PlayStation State of Play was a surprise collaboration between 2024's action hit Stellar Blade and mobile action-RPG Goddess of Victory: Nikke. This contains a Nikke-themed boss fight, a new outfit, and collecitble dolls and stickers. The DLC will be available sometime in June 2025.

As expected, the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater release date was confirmed during Sony’s State of Play 2025 broadcast alongside a new trailer.
The August 28, 2025 release date leaked last week via the PlayStation Store, which also made a new trailer available. Both were confirmed officially during State of Play.
An Ape Escape collaboration was also teased, followed by a message that reads “And More,” which seemingly alludes to further crossovers coming to the game.
This first one looks like a reference to the original Metal Gear Solid 3, which featured a monkey minigame in which Snake would attempt to neutralize the animals with stun grenades and his ‘Monkey Shaker’ gun.

At the new State of Play, Gearbox president Randy Pitchford announced that Borderlands 4 will be coming out on September 23, 2025.

During the Feburary 2025 State of Play stream, the stylish fast-action game Lost Soul Aside got a new gameplay and story trailer alongside a release date announcement. Lost Soul Aside will launch on May 30, 2025 for PlayStation 5 and PC.
It was initially started as a solo project from developer Yang Bing with limisted resources and had been showcased as part of the PlayStation China Hero Project. Lost Soul Aside clearly chanels inspirations from Devil May Cry and other PlatinumGames-style action games, as well as Final Fantasy XV, which the developer has been upfront about.

2K is ramping up to the next installment in its wrestling lineup, WWE 2K25. While it's going to have all the tusslin' and scrappin' you would expect from a WWE title, 2K is also exploring the social aspects of it with a new online hub called The Island.
Seen during today's Sony State of Play, The Island in WWE 2K25 is a multiplayer interactive world where players can take their custom wrestlers and explore, take on challenges, and develop storylines. It's similar to The City in the NBA 2K series, though you'll be dunking on other wrestlers instead of the net.
There's customization and personalization, a neon-lit city to explore, a church for The Undertaker, and much more to discover on your quest for the top.

Sega has revealed gameplay of Sonic Racing CrossWorlds at Sony’s State of Play 2025 broadcast.
The internally developed racing game is set for launch across PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch. A closed network test is set for February 21.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds features iconic characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog universe and a distinct racing mechanic that promises to transport Sonic racing fans into a “new dimension."

Monster Hunter Wilds is still a few weeks out, but Capcom is already confirming post-launch support for its upcoming entry. The first free update will arrive this spring, adding a new monster and more to the Forbidden Lands.
The first free title update for Monster Hunter Wilds arrives in the spring, adding the water monster Mizutsune. We got a brief glimpse of the monster in today's Sony State of Play, spotlighting its bubbly nature.

Obsidian has confirmed the early access release times for its upcoming role-playing game Avowed.
Early access, available to Avowed Premium Edition players, kicks off on February 13 at 10am PST across PC and Xbox Series X and S, Obsidian confirmed in a tweet. Avowed launches to those who pay the standard price on February 18. As a Microsoft first-party title, Avowed is an Xbox Game Pass day-one launch.
Last week, Obsidian confirmed Avowed can hit 60 frames per second on Xbox Series X, having previously indicated it was aiming for 30fps.

If you were hoping for a new Diablo 4 expansion in 2025, you're unfortunately going to be waiting just a bit longer. According to Diablo general manager Rod Fergusson, we won't see the next major Diablo 4 expansion until 2026.
Speaking today at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas, Fergusson concluded his talk by discussing the team's plan to strengthen its relationship with its community by taking a leaf out of the books of both Diablo Immortal and World of Warcraft and releasing content roadmaps. Elden Ring Nightreign launches on May 30, 2025 priced $40 across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, publisher Bandai Namco has confirmed.
Confirmation of the release date comes ahead of the Elden Ring Nightreign network test, which kicks off on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S only on February 14 and ends February 17, with various session times planned. This means you won't be able to play the network test throughout the entire four days, rather during five three-hour periods.

Elden Ring Nightreign is not a battle royale. Not that you ever thought it was, but as a former battle royale enjoyer, I can’t help but compare the white-knuckle moments I get when the Storm closes in on me in those last gripping moments of a half-hour-long session of a Fortnite match to the nail-biting bits where I’m desperately trying to outrun the encroaching circle and make it to a life-saving site of grace in Nightreign. PVP elements are completely absent in Nightreign, though not missed one bit. Still, you’ll drop onto a map with a squad, start from nothing, and spend your time ransacking the map to hopefully power yourself up for a final battle.

EA "passed" on buying a number of blockbuster Activision Blizzard games, including Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, and even World of Warcraft developer Blizzard.
That's according to former EA chief creative officer Bing Gordon, who said on the Grit podcast that "Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, Blizzard... EA saw all those first and passed on all of them."
Talking to former Activision boss Bobby Kotick, Bing said: "This is why I have double-high respect for [Kotick] saying, 'no, no, this is going to be good to own.' And then you kept the people around.

Team Ninja has released a large patch for Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, bringing it up to Ver 1.0.7.0 and adding New Game Plus, Photo Mode, and more.
The patch, which was promised as a means of addressing fan feedback in January, was detailed in a blog post from Team Ninja. It's available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store.
New Game Plus does what it says on the tin: players can now start a new game on any difficulty previously cleared while carrying over weapons and Ninpo obtained on the previous run. All of these weapons and Ninpo will be reverted to Level 1, however, and as noted, players can't jump straight into a higher difficulty using New Game Plus.
