DC Studios co-chiefs James Gunn and Peter Safran have confirmed it will be a couple of years before fans see the first DCU video game. Mecha Break Hits Over 300,000 Concurrent Steam Players with Open Beta, Briefly Surpassing Marvel Rivals

Mecha Break, the mecha-driven battler from Amazing Seasun Games, had a historic weekend. Its newest round of open beta play went live on February 23, and saw player counts reach high enough that it even momentarily overcame the likes of Marvel Rivals. As spotted by PCGamesN, the player count on Steam for the new Mecha Break Demo launched up and over NetEase's Marvel hero shooter, reaching over 317,000 concurrent players on Steam. As of this writing, the demo has reached an all-time peak of 317,522 on Valve's platform (per SteamDB), with a 24-hour peak of 303,991. Skyblivion, a Fan Remake of Oblivion in Skyrim's Engine, Is Still Targeting This Year

Skyblivion, the fan-made remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion inside the engine of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, is on track for a 2025 release. The mod team reaffirmed its launch goals in a new developer update stream, showcasing some of the work done so far. Put together by a team of volunteer developers, Skyblivion is essentially a AAA-scale modding endeavor, which has taken years of its makers' time and energy. After Monster Hunter: World blew the doors of the series wide open for a huge new audience in 2018 and Monster Hunter Rise gave us high-flying Wirebugs to more quickly zip around in 2021, it makes a lot of sense that Capcom would do whatever it can to welcome that newfound following into the next frontier. That’s exactly what Monster Hunter Wilds does, smoothing out the already excellent process of turning big scary dragons into silly little hats to be faster, more flexible, and less fiddly than ever before. People Are Streaming Assassin's Creed Shadows a Month Ahead of Its Official Release Date

Assassin’s Creed Shadows has leaked online, with people streaming the game a month before its official release date. As spotted by the GamingLeaksandRumours subreddit, now-removed social posts revealed images and gameplay from someone who claimed to have bought the game from an online marketplace. Assassin’s Creed Shadows also appeared in now-deleted listings on a U.S. auction site, with one user selling listing multiple copies of the game sold for $100 each, according to TheGamer. Now, multiple Twitch streams showing Assassin’s Creed Shadows have appeared, although they are being removed according to VGC. Assassin’s Creed Shadows launches officially on March 20, 2025. Spider-Man 3 Actor Says Peter Parker 'Won’t Be Relegated to the Couch'

Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 will see Peter Parker doing his Spider-Man thing despite what the ending of Spider-Man 2 suggests, the actor behind the character has said. Speaking to The Direct, Yuri Lowenthal suggested Parker will play an active role in the so far unannounced but expected Marvel’s Spider-Man 3. First Mortal Kombat 1 T-1000 Gameplay Looks Straight Out of Terminator 2, and There's a Surprise Kameo DLC Character Coming Too

Mortal Kombat 1 developer NetherRealm has released the first gameplay for DLC guest character the T-1000 and confirmed Madam Bo as a DLC Kameo fighter. The T-1000 gameplay shows off a number of attacks that rekindle memories of Terminator 2, including the T-1000’s blade and hook arms. At one point we see the T-1000 turn into a liquid metal blob before rising from the ground in an uppercut reminiscent of attacks by Killer Instinct’s Glacius. NetEase Founder Reportedly Almost Canceled Marvel Rivals Because it Didn't Use Original IP

NetEase's Marvel Rivals can't be described as anything less than a hit, netting ten million players in just three days from launch and raking in millions for developer NetEase in the weeks since. But a new report suggests that NetEase CEO and founder William Ding nearly canceled the game due to a reluctance to use licensed IP. The report comes from Bloomberg, and describes the current situation at NetEase: Ding is actively cutting jobs, closing studios, and withdrawing from investment overseas. The goal, per the report, is a smaller, tighter portfolio that can stave off a recent growth decline and compete with rivals Tencent and MiHoYo. GTA Online on PC Is Finally Catching up With Console Versions

Grand Theft Auto 5 players on PC are in for a treat, as Rockstar has just announced they'll be getting a free update March 4 that brings their version of the game up to speed with the PS5 and Xbox Series versions of GTA Online. In a blog post from Rockstar today, the studio revealed that the update would include "all the latest vehicles and performance upgrades available at Hao’s Special Works, animal encounters, and access to purchase a GTA+ Membership — along with improved graphics options, faster loading times, and more." Samurai Pizza Cats: Blast From the Past Game Announced

Developer Blast Zero and publisher Red Dunes Games are celebrating this month's 35th anniversary of the classic anime Samurai Pizza Cats by announcing a new video game based on the popular 1990s cartoon, called Samurai Pizza Cats: Blast From the Past. It's in development for "all major platforms."
