Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 is officially in development.
Publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Saber Interactive have joined forces once again following the huge success of last year's Space Marine 2, which has sold 5 million copies.
"We’re pleased to announce that the development for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 has officially begun at Focus Entertainment, Saber Interactive and Games Workshop," reads a statement. "We’ll share updates on this new title when the time is right. For now, our focus remains on delivering the best possible experience for Space Marine 2 players."
There's no real detail on what to expect from Space Marine 3, but Focus did release the below image that confirms the return of Titus, not that...
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is getting a big update today. Patch 1.2 is out now, and alongside fixes and improvements, there's both a barber shop and Steam Workshop modding support added to the massive RPG.
The barber shop is the first of "several" planned free DLCs, per a press release from Warhorse, and will let protagonist Henry visit the barber to change up his hairstyle. There's also an option for either a clean-shaven or rugged appearance, as well as facial hair ranging from stubble to beard. A new haircut will, just like in real life, give Henry a temporary boost to charisma.
Patch 1.2 addresses over 1,000 fixes and improvements, including equipment and NPC behavior, as well as gameplay balance. Specifically, developer Warhorse...
One of the biggest reasons for why we remember the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games so fondly is because of the licensed soundtrack. From punk rock to hip-hop, and a new wave of hardcore with the remasters, the series forged our music tastes, and it will continue to do so with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 Remastered coming July 11 this year. In the lead up to its release, Activision is putting together the official THPS 3 + 4 playlist on Spotify and continually updating it as it reveals more and more of the song list.
The first wave of tracks have just been revealed, and here are the songs we currently know of for the THPS 3 + 4 Remastered soundtrack:
"Ace of Spades" by Motörhead
"Them Bones" by Alice in Chains
"Ultimate" by Denzel Curry...
Hot on the heels of its announcement of new game Project C4, ZA/UM has announced an official mobile version of Disco Elysium.
ZA/UM said its goal for the mobile version, exclusive to Android devices, is to bring Disco Elysium to new players “and hopefully serve existing Disco Elysium players with a fun, on-the-go alternative.” To this end, it will release the first two chapters of Disco Elysium for mobile free of charge. You can then pay once to unlock the full game, ad-free.
“We want players to make an informed decision about their potential purchase,” ZA/UM said. “Today’s ZA/UM studio is comprised of both creators and custodians of the Disco Elysium IP. We take both of those roles very seriously and we believe that is evident in the...
The world of Monster Hunter Wilds is big, and also pretty connected. One player set out to show just that, with a long journey from a starting zone to the peaks of its later areas.
Over on the Monster Hunter subreddit, user -BrotherPig- posted a video, below, chronicling their journey across the zones of Monster Hunter Wilds. They start out in the Windward Plains, running across the sand and dunes, all the way to the later game zones and, eventually, some of the last game areas and locales. Spoilers await, if you haven't rolled credits on the campaign just yet.
It's an impressively long trip, and emphasizes just how linked all the zones are. There's only one loading screen that happens, around halfway into the trip, as the traveler...
FuturLab has announced PowerWash Simulator 2, the sequel to the hugely popular cleaning game.
The Brighton, UK-based studio said it’s self-publishing PowerWash Simulator 2 after Final Fantasy maker Square Enix published the smash hit first game since 2022. It’s due out late 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC.
PowerWash Simulator does exactly what it says on the tin: players clean grubby environments with a powerwash. It’s a smash hit, with over 17 million players enjoying the satisfying ping whenever a dirty section of the environment is cleared of dirt. PowerWash Simulator did so well that it ended up attracting big-time licensed DLC, including Warhammer 40,000, Shrek, and SpongeBob SquarePants.
It’s the commercial...
Warhammer 40,000 real-time strategy series Dawn of War has been dormant ever since Relic Entertainment ended support for its failed 2017 effort, Dawn of War 3. Still, the first two games remain much-loved by fans, who have wondered ever since whether a Dawn of War 4 or maybe even remakes of either Dawn of War 1 or 2 might be in the works.
Now, after a single photo was published to LinkedIn, Dawn of War fans have hope that something new in the series is finally on the way.
Let’s start with Relic Entertainment itself, which recently gained independence from prior owner Sega via investment from Emona Capital. Emona managing partner Dominik Dolenec published a selfie to LinkedIn showing him standing outside Games Workshop’s Nottingham...
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2’s first public test server is now live, and with it comes an early look at the long-awaited Update 7.0 and its associated patch notes.
In a community post, publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Saber Interactive said these preliminary patch notes for the PTS version include “most” of the 7.0 update features. But the final 7.0 patch notes will “probably differ” as the development team is still working on bug fixes.
Still, there is a huge amount to dig into for PC players of Space Marine 2 who are in the PTS (it’s not available on console). For a start, Update 7.0 adds a new PvE mission, called Exfiltration, a new secondary weapon (Inferno Pistol for the Vanguard, Sniper, and Heavy classes), the...
Bethesda is reportedly set to announce its The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion remake in the coming weeks and release it soon after.
NatetheHate, who accurately revealed the announcement date of the Nintendo Switch 2, tweeted to say the Oblivion remake will be revealed either this month or next month, which VGC corroborated.
The release window is slightly fuzzier. NatetheHate said likely before June, but VGC said it could come out as soon as April.
In January, Mp1st reported on apparently accidentally released Oblivion remake details by a former employee at video game support studio Virtuos. Microsoft declined to comment when contacted by IGN.
According to Mp1st, Virtuos has remade Bethesda’s much-loved open world role-playing game using...
Free-to-play 3v3 shooter Spectre Divide is being shut down six months after its initial launch in September 2024, and just weeks after its arrival on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Its developer Mountaintop Studios is also closing.
Moutaintop CEO Nate Mitchell confirmed the news in a statement published on social media today.
“Unfortunately, the Season 1 launch hasn’t achieved the level of success we needed to sustain the game and keep Mountaintop afloat,” explains the post.
The team was optimistic following the first week, reporting the game attracted around 400,000 players – with a peak concurrent count of approximately 10,000 across all platforms.
“But as time has gone on, we haven’t seen enough active players and incoming revenue to...
Today’s bargain roundup is filled with blockbuster hits, cult classics, and a few surprises that you didn’t even know you needed. My picks of the litter include an over half off Sonic Superstars and The Last of Us Part I. I’m also always about a heavily reduced Witcher 3 Complete Edition and Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate. Just a ludicrous amount of RPGing hours for way less of your monies.

In retro news, I'm celebrating the 16th birthday of Army of Two. It's a now extinct co-op shooter that made scary face masks + warfighters cool before Modern Warfare 2's 'Ghost' was even a twinkle in Infinity Ward's eye. AoT managed to belt out a three game run and almost a Michael Mann written and directed movie, then it all went...

Remember themed popcorn buckets? Of course you do. Well, there’s more where those came from. The upcoming Minecraft movie is joining the consumer trend with concessions novelties of its own that will be available during the theatrical run.
According to images posted by DiscussingFilm on X / Twitter, below, the Minecraft movie will have a TNT box as its popcorn bucket, paired with a chicken jockey drink container (if you know, you know). It seems as though these items are exclusive to the Cinemark chain of theaters in the United States, but as for what other theaters are planning to debut for Minecraft fans, we’ll have to wait and see.
These Minecraft-centric novelties are just the latest in an ongoing trend that has been a national...
When I saw that the minds behind The Stanley Parable and The Beginner’s Guide were also the ones making Wanderstop, I knew what to expect… or, at least, I thought I did. I anticipated its immensely emotional story, wry sense of humor, and at least one strange twist – but while I got all of those things and more, what I didn’t see coming was that a game about making tea and avoiding burn out would force me to grapple with my own hold-ups around productivity in such an intimate way. For as sweet and wholesome as it may seem on the surface, this is a piping hot cup of tea that left a lasting mark when spilled.
Before we go any further, let me warn you: The less you know about Wanderstop’s story at the start, the better. I’m going to avoid...
Palworld developer Pocketpair is narrowing in on its big crossplay update, which is due out late March 2025.
In a post on X/Twitter, Pocketpair confirmed this update will include multiplayer across all platforms as well as add world transfer for Pals. No further details were offered, outside a promotional image showing a bunch of Palworld characters fighting a rather large Pal.
Pocketpair Communications Director and Publishing Manager John 'Bucky' Buckley teased "a few little surprises too" with the March update.
That's good news for the 32 million players that have picked up Palworld since its early access launch in January 2024. The studio has laid out a content roadmap for Palworld's 2025 that looks fairly lengthy; alongside...
In Monster Hunter, some quests can be taken down pretty quick, and others take a bit more time. But at least one Monster Hunter Wilds player has discovered a trick for getting absurdly fast clear times, using one particular quirk of Wilds' systems.
As spotted by VG247, one Monster Hunter Wilds player posted an incredibly fast clear time for a Tempered Chatacabra bout, thanks to what seems like a curious exploit of the poison system. The actual fight itself takes upwards of nine minutes, but the quest gets cleared in 00'01"53.
The trick, it seems, is how poison triggers the actual quest start in Monster Hunter Wilds. Though the hunter in the video pelts the Chatacabra with quite a significant amount of Poison Ammo, keeping the debuff...
Localthunk, the developer behind breakout roguelike poker game Balatro, has stepped in to resolve a bit of a scrum in the Balatro subreddit over a mod's statements on AI art.
It's a bit of a wild story, so bear with me here, and thanks to Garbage Day and Rock Paper Shotgun for spotting all this. Essentially, it starts with DrTankHead, a now-former moderator of the Balatro subreddit and also current mod of a NSFW Balatro subreddit.
The moderator had expressed no issue with AI art content, both on the NSFW and main Balatro subreddits. "We will not be banning AI art here, if it is properly claimed and tagged as such," the mod said in a post. "This has been done after discussion with the staff at Playstack."
Localthunk posted a short...
Two Zenless Zone Zero voice actors discovered they had been replaced when the game's patch notes went live, they have claimed, in the latest casualty of the battle for generative AI protections.
The Screen Actors Guild–American Federation of Television and Radio Artists' (SAG-AFTRA) ongoing dispute with the video game industry revolves around the use of generative AI to replicate voice actor performances.
ZZZ, developed by Genshin Impact company HoYoverse, is not subject to the strike because it was in development before July 25, 2024, when the strike began. However, voice actors may choose not to sign new contracts in solidarity with striking union members, or in the absence of a SAG Interim Agreement.

Battlefield's playtest is giving us plenty of sneaky peeks at what's to come in EA's shooter, and developer DICE has "loads of feedback from the very active testers selected." Unlike Battlefield 2042's lukewarm reception, fans seem pretty pleased with what they've seen so far, and the leaks have been so impressive, EA's not even trying to take them down yet.
While the Battlefield team has teased there's still more tests to come to give more players a chance to get involved, we've pulled together all the improvements and new features we've spotted so far.
Battlefield 6 has a drag mechanic
Perhaps most notable is the ability to drag wounded allies away to safety. At the time of writing, a video clip on the Battlefield subreddit showing...
In the world of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 competitive multiplayer, there are thousands upon thousands of final kills captured and published online by players delighted with their online exploits. But few are better than this.
Ricochet Blades are unique ammo for the D1.3 Sector secondary weapon, introduced with the controversial Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles event last month. It wasn’t long after the ammo made its way in-game that the Ricochet Blades became a talking point for their unpredictable trajectory as they bounce off multiple surfaces.
Player kev99gh captured and published the final kill in a round of hardcore Search and Destroy on the Lowtown map in which they bounced a Ricochet Blade, affectionately known as a “pizza” by the...
With Monster Hunter Wilds breaking Steam records and Resident Evil more popular than ever thanks to Village and a handful of stellar remakes, it’s almost as if Capcom is incapable of failure. But that wasn’t always the case. Less than a decade ago, after a string of critical and commercial flops, Capcom was on its knees. It had lost its way and its audience.
Capcom was suffering from an identity crisis. Resident Evil, which established the survival horror genre, had lost its bite after Resident Evil 4. Another big hitter, Street Fighter, was on the ropes after the poorly-received Street Fighter 5. It could easily have been the critical end of Capcom and its much-loved games.
But in the darkness, there was light. A change in the way...
Rockstar’s new and improved version of Grand Theft Auto 5 isn’t going down well on Steam following its launch earlier in March.
Grand Theft Auto 5 Enhanced, which released on March 4, has a ‘mixed’ user review rating on Steam, with 54% of the 19,772 user reviews flagged as positive.
To put that into context, the original GTA 5 on Steam, now unlisted at the request of Rockstar Games and as a result unable to appear in search on Valve's platform, has a ‘very positive’ user review rating on Steam.
In fact, GTA 5 Enhanced is currently the worst user-reviewed GTA on Steam, with its closest competitor for the unwanted crown, Grand Theft Auto III – The Definitive Edition, on 66% positive reviews.
GTA 5 Enhanced is a free upgrade for GTA 5...
A minority shareholder in Ubisoft is attempting to organize a protest outside the company's Paris headquarters, accusing it of failing to disclose alleged discussions with Microsoft, EA, and others publishers reportedly interested in acquiring its franchises.
In a statement seen by IGN, Juraj Krúpa, CEO of AJ Investments, claimed Ubisoft is "horribly mismanaged by current management," and wants a "clear roadmap for recovery" from the senior team to address "declining shareholder value, lackluster operational execution, and failure to adapt effectively to market trends."
Krúpa alleged that Ubisoft has not been transparent about its decision-making, accusing the firm of "hiding information," including an Assassin Creed Mirage DLC...
EA has added microtransactions to Skate during its latest alpha test, and ahead of a release date announcement.
As reported by Insider Gaming, developer Full Circle added microtransactions to the ongoing closed alpha test of EA's free-to-play Skate revival.
You can spend real-world money on a virtual currency called San Van Bucks, which in turn is used to buy cosmetic items. It sounds like Full Circle wants to test Skate’s microtransaction purchase system, as it states it wants players to have a “positive experience when purchasing items from the Skate store.”
“Your feedback will be greatly appreciated in providing a great experience at Early Access launch,” the message continues.
According to Insider Gaming, Full Circle has warned...

In retro news, I'm celebrating the 32nd birthday of Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, the best of the Mario/Wario platformers on Game Boy. SML2 is remembered for ditching the original’s Superball Flower in favour of the more familiar and satisfying Fire Flower, plus it introduced Bunny Mario. He could jump higher, glide through the air, and procreate faster (fan theory unconfirmed). I sacrificed many a AA...

Hazelight's latest co-op adventure, Split Fiction, has officially surpassed one million copies sold in the first 48 hours, setting a new record for the studio.
This news was announced on BlueSky, with the official account saying, "The love you all show for our game is overwhelming! 😍 Everyone here at Hazelight are beyond happy - and we can’t stop enjoying your amazing reactions! 🤩"
Notably this is one million copies sold, which means it's possible that far more than that are playing Split Fiction. Every copy of the game comes with a Friend's Pass that lets a friend play the entire game in co-op with the purchaser for free. While not everyone will take advantage of that option (some will play local co-op, some may play with someone...
With all the trailers, showcases, and dev diaries that often lead up to a game’s launch nowadays, it’s harder than ever for one to be a real surprise – and that’s especially true of a multiplayer first-person shooter when, like me, you are a Certified Old Gamer™ who’s been playing them since the genre began. Yet FragPunk has done just that. What I worried might end up being a Valorant clone with a card gimmick and a big list of other buzzword features has instead impressed me with how fresh it all feels. It's still early, and I'm far from ready to say if this is a definite winner, but so far, I’m having a hard time putting FragPunk down.
In many ways, FragPunk reminds me of a reverse Ship of Theseus. If every component of a game came...
Rockstar owner Take-Two Interactive is suing online marketplace PlayerAuctions, alleging it contains "thousands of listings for unauthorized, infringing GTA V content – including heavily modified player accounts, in-game assets, and virtual currency – all gained by using hacking software, cheats, and technical exploits."
The lawsuit was filed last week in the U.S. Central District Court of California against the Chinese company that owns the website, Paiao Network Technology. It accuses PlayerAuctions of operating "with full knowledge that its sellers are engaged in rampant infringement and other unauthorized conduct," while it "reaps millions in revenue by taking a cut of every transaction on its marketplace."
Specifically, Take-Two...
