It would be easy to take a quick look at Crimson Desert and assume it’s another fantasy action game where you hack and slash your way through enemies with repeated presses of the attack button. And if you equip your protagonist, Kliff, with a sword, you can certainly do that. But tap two of your controller’s face buttons together and he’ll lunge, thrusting the blade directly forward. If you then press both the light and heavy attack buttons at the same time, he’ll transition into a powerful, magic-infused overhead slam, bringing his sword down in an arc of dizzying particle effects. There’s more than one way to swing a sword, basically – and that applies to everything in your combat arsenal.

EA has released the patch notes in full for the Battlefield 6 day one launch update, which brings the shooter up to version 1.0.1.0.
Battlefield 6 launches on October 10 (check out the global release times to find out when you can play in your timezone) with patch 1.0.1.0, which, the developers said, delivers “a wide range of updates and improvements across the game made since the open beta weekends.”
“This release reflects player feedback from the beta and ongoing playtesting from Battlefield Labs, alongside our continued development efforts. Addressing bugs, refining balance, and enhancing clarity throughout the entire experience.”

Fortnite has re-enabled Peaceful Hips, its now-notorious Peacemaker dance emote, after making changes to its choreography in the wake of speculation it referenced Nazi imagery.
Last week, Fortnite maker Epic Games swiftly disabled the dance following the broadcast of a major plot twist in James Gunn and John Cena's DC series, and suggested the emote was unlikely to return.

Battlefield lead producer at DICE, David Sirland, replied to a question on X/Twitter about server readiness with a sort of confident sounding "should be!"

Microsoft has made its first Xbox Game Pass lineup announcement since its controversial decision to raise the price of the Ultimate subscription.
Last week, Microsoft sparked a backlash with its decision to raise the price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate from $19.99 a month to $29.99 a month (a 50% increase that amounts to an extra $120 a year).
To justify the price hike, Microsoft upped the number of day one releases per year to 75, and added Fortnite Crew and Ubisoft+ Classics for the first time ever. There were also upgrades to Xbox Cloud Gaming streaming quality.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has officially sold five million copies since launch, and developer Sandfall Interactive is celebrating by teasing an upcoming free update that will include a new dungeon, enemies, bosses, and more.
