Starfield Premium Upgrade Has Dropped to Just $18 at Amazon, Almost 50% Off the MSRP

Starfield's Premium Upgrade was originally notable for the five days of early access it granted during its release window, and while this early access period has since expired, there are still a few other goodies up for grabs in a brand-new offer. It's currently down to just $17.99 at Amazon (or £19.95 in the UK) a considerable drop from the MSRP of $34.99, and almost 50% off.

What's included? I hear you ask. This is the physical edition of the Premium Upgrade, so you're getting the following: Starfield Steelbook, Starfield Patch, Shattered Space Expansion, Digital Skin Pack, Digital Soundtrack, and Digital Artbook. That seems like quite the steal at $18, especially if you're looking forward to trying out Shattered Space and what Bethesda might have in store for the future.

Also, just so we are clear, this is the Premium Upgrade for Xbox consoles, with 'upgrade' being an important phase. You'll need to own Starfield or have Xbox Game Pass to take advantage of any of the digital content like the eventual Shattered Space DLC.

Fair warning, before we speculate, it is currently unclear how much the Shattered Space DLC is going to cost on its own. But, it is intended to be a reasonably sized story expansion, so there is some room here to speculate that this deal on the Premium Upgrade could seemingly be a cheaper alternative to accessing the new content when it finally arrives -- it's food for thought if anything else.

Starfield has inevitably turned out to be quite the controversial RPG, and while the game has still had over 12 million players and should be considered at least a moderate success for Xbox for the time being, there has been some pushback from fans regarding the state of the game at the time of writing. Especially since more regular updates have now started, alongside the upcoming first expansion pack, and the highly anticipated launch of the Creation Kit and mod support for PC and consoles.
