Netflix announced a new suite of games coming to its subscribers in the next year. Highlighting the list is Sonic Mania Plus, which will be available to Netflix subscribers sometime next year.
As noted in the press release, this will be the first time Sonic Mania Plus will be available on mobile as part of Netflix Games. When it releases, those subscribed to Netflix can download an ad-free Sonic Mania Plus mobile version on their Android phone, iPhone, or iPad.
Released in 2018, Sonic Mania Plus is the definitive version of the 2017 game Sonic Mania. The biggest difference between the two versions is Sonic Mania Plus included new content, such as two additional playable characters, a new game mode, and a four-player competition mode, to name a few. The new content available in the Sonic Mania Plus was also made available to those who owned the base game as DLC.
In our review of Sonic Mania Plus, we said: "As an upgrade to the excellent Sonic Mania, Sonic Mania Plus/Encore offers a pair of good new characters but underwhelms with new modes and content."
Sonic Mania Plus joins a boatload of other games available on the service, such as Grand Theft Auto Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, or are coming to Netflix Games soon, such as Hades and Braid Anniversary Edition.
