Platinum's Kamiya Hopes Next-Gen Nintendo Switch Will Still Be Portable

A handful of the studio's other games have made their way to the platform, with Switch ports of Bayonetta 1 and 2, The Wonderful 101, and Nier: Automata.</p><p></p><p></p><p>Many gamers seemingly agree with Kamiya's sentiments, as the Switch has been a smash hit since its release in March 2017. Right now, the Nintendo Switch currently sits in the <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/best-selling-video-game-consoles-nintendo-playstation-ps5-xbox" target="_blank">top five best-selling game systems of all time</a>, only trailing the PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS, Game Boy/Game Boy Color, and PlayStation 4.</p><p></p><p>We don't know much about Nintendo's next hardware, and Nintendo has consistently said it has <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/nintendo-switch-pro-oled-model-no-plans-denied-profit-margin" target="_blank">no plans to release the long-rumored "Switch Pro" model</a>. As for what's next, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa said the company is working hard to <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/switch-2-pro-smooth-transition-nintendo-wii-u" target="_blank">avoid the same mistakes it did when transitioning from Wii to Wii U</a>, and DS to 3DS.
